don't worry. you just need to practice on 2 vs 2 matches, and you'll get used to them. if the maps confuse you, try facing the computer on exhibition in team matches, so you can take your time to know the map and preform basic strategies. you'll eventually get the hang of them that way. I posted a the inputs for paradigm's situational combos in the GG video thread. those are pretty much all he can do, combo wise, so yeah, you have to deal with it. mix it up and don't rely on combos. Edit: there's only one way I know how the extend the damage on the combo, and it's (L) x, x, x, MC, 2x. if they get knocked down follow up with an apple or a get out of here skill. that's the most dangerous combo he has without the assistant bonnie bomb.

theres was an interview not too long ago where one of the higher ups in arc system works said there are no issues with the licence holder sega and they would focus back on GG after a year or so with BB, since they are a small company of less than 100, they can only focus on one project at a time.

TRIPLE POST! I fought an interesting paradigm that destroyed me in combat the other day. he completely relied on rapid fire AND the slow foot item. I was pretty much a sitting duck. that slow Item was very potent, and I almost never see it used, so we should be sure to take advantage of it. the slowing effect is the most drastic I have ever seen (you can barely move, much stronger than Izuna's minion or valentine's magic units). to counter it, I got mouth zipper and dispel, when he got hit with mouth zipper, he tried to run away like there was no tomorrow. slow foot item would be a godsend against sin who is always running way from you. he won't be getting very far with that on him.

yeah....dispel on the dragon wont get rid of the attack reduction. I hate that thing.
-
they have their uses. beside the obvious "you can't stop my move when you hit me" feature, they go through cyclone blasts, so you can set up some stuff around that. I heard AJ loved to Volcanic Viper through cyclone blasts in master battles for example. keep on the pressure and make them waste tension. but this in it self isn't something thats easy to do. practice partner may be required to try out, since there's no setting in training mode to make the dummy cyclone blast. super armor moves are not unstoppable by the way, just very hard to stop. Sin's electric ball thing can stop Sol's volcanic viper for instance.

yeah, but it has uses for servant slaying. should make fighting crowds of armors easier, though I haven't exactly done extensive testing on the thing. thanks for sharing that information panda, I had no Idea damage scaling was applied to the dragon when going bananas on it. hunchback owns the unit too, but I find myself reluctant to use hunchback against paradigm, since good players usually refrain from using Paradigm's rollers. maybe I should try using it more often though, it owns the dragon hardcore, you should test it out when you have the chance. yeah, according to panda, the punches of the free combos have super armor. exact quote from gamefaqs. "Well from what I know Sol can go through burst with volcanic Viper, and lock off x,x,y. Ky can go through it with Vapor Thrust, and lock off forward+x." I'm assuming that both punches of the x, y, y, combo have super armor. and of coarse, as I mentioned before, I'm pretty sure Sol's power attack has super armor. you see there? what mechanism does it use in order for it to lower your damage? I haven't noticed a status effect on myself when fighting it, but I admit I never look to see if I have a status effect on myself when fighting it. if it placed a status effect on you to lower your damage out put, than a dispel would make it easier to do damage, since it would rid you of the status effect. thats why I suggested dispel. I should test it out myself when I have the chance, because not every one has dragon install to kick it's ass. Edit: I found out something interesting about Block head that can make it more useful. well two things I guess. the first is that I saw Kou2007 use it to help him mow down a crap load of armors, and it seemed pretty effective for that purpose. he'd carry it around with him and spit it out when he would engage the armors. not bad if you plan to use the block head anyway. the second thing I noticed, was that the block head heals sol for a good amount of health. it's one hell of a healer, and it doesn't lose as much health as it restores, so theres another use for it. I still haven't applied the unit in my Sol game, but I eventually plan to see if I can.

what? your saying you knew about the Dizzy hit all along? bastard. I'll test out what moves have super armor on Sol's free combos, but I really don't know which would have super armor or not. I know that Sol's power attack has super armor, thats it. heres a list of all the free combos that Sol has that I know of. x, x, x, x x, x, x, y x, y, y, x x, y, y, y, y x, x, y, y, y 8x. If you come back, it would be awesome Panda. looking forward to it. EDIT: oh, does anybody have some advice for dealing with an opponent who uses Quadro Baliff as a body guard? the only thing I can come up with is hitting the guy with a mouth zipper as soon as possible, because other wise, I get my ass kicked by that stupid thing. it's such an underrated unit, it does so much damage when your not focusing on it. and question #2, what is it that makes Sol players use red queen so often? I suck at making that unit effective, she only seems good to take out armors, other wise she doesn't do that much damage. you can't even pick the stupid thing up. I don't recall Kimera cryin use the unit too much when he plays sol, the last game I had, I was very disappointed with it's performance. uh, and last question. the reason Dr. Paradigm's Bone Biter takes forever to kill is because it lowers your attack right? wouldn't a dispel make it much easier to kill? (assuming you don't resort to an anti armor rod)
-
well, can you think of a reason why is that? what makes them lose interest in the game?
-
Sure Xithmos, sounds cool. record away. I found out something...interesting about one of Sol's free mode attacks. in the free mode combo: x, y, y, y*,y. the 3rd y, the one with the *, it dizzies whatever it hits, if the move lands without the previous attacks landing. it dizzies masters and servants alike, but only if the earlier moves in the combo don't hit. this can be a potentially useful crowd control tool, all dizzied parties receive a free power attack from Sol.

wow, did you forget it already? it's my friend's account ol boundary lo that I use on weekends. in case you looked over it when I said it, I'm Tobal360 from gamefaqs. I was actually thinking about asking you to play with me saturday, but I saw you playing halo wars and decided to leave you alone. if you'd like, I can send you a friend request during the upcomming weekend, and we can practice than.
-
ayumu, I assume something came up? I just played some japanese instead, it's very demoralizing have them rip me to bits. lack of practice really screws you over in this game. I'm good enough to fight the japanses in master fights and not get destroyed, but they take over the map so well, they are much better than I am when it comes to managing their servants and such. after that series of beatings, a tournement is the last thing on my mind.

two hour time lag!...holyshit, that's gonna be late for me. OH WELL! see you at 9 pm eastern time!
-
crap! what time is it now for you? I need some calculation material! just look at the time and post what you see so I can coordinate what that means for the both of us. it's 11:48 eastern time as of posting this for me.
-
wait what? are you going to be free tomorrow? on friday?
-
shoot. good thing we are going to play this weekend. almost missed you.
-
we were talking about me setting up a tournament, and I wanted the gamefaqs guys to join, but they can't this weekend. so sometime later, when the gamefaqs guys can play during the weekend (them being AJ and antikirby). when can set it up depends on their availability and whether we have enough people to make a tournament worth doing. I want at least 8, so we would have an equal chance to prove who's the best. besides, I think I was trying to set it up on too short of a notice anyhow. let's just say the Idea is on hiatus for now. I'm pretty sure panda didn't fix his xbox360 yet.
-
that thing is meant to be a frown? uh oh.. here comes the magical powers of editing! I didn't say anything about an expression! YOU CAN'T PROVE IT!:scared:
-
what's does "3:" stand for? Izuna's mobiles target support units (magic and range) over other units, but they have no advantage over range units. I was thinking about holding a tournament, but I'm going to push it back to another time. I want the gamefaqs guys in on it, so we can have a big tournament where we can all compete against each other. so I'll (or we) can decide on the rules, the day and time, and we can see how we can make it happen. I was hoping we could do it this Friday or Saturday, but lets push it back a week or two, so, anyone who is interested in a future tournament, if there's enough people willing to compete, I hoping for at least 8. I'll set one up. I'll tell you guys the week we can do it, as well as the day and a time we can all join in. it'll be a day where the gamefaqs guys can play on the weekend (because I can only play on the weekends.) hopefully, I can get boundary in on it too.

it's basically unlock whatever you feel you want really. I unlock queen second, I suck with making her useful. usually I unlock Engulfer or Firewheel first, depending on what I feel would be more useful. working on improving my red queen my Block head strategy. Gigant is very situational. I've decided the tounrament wont work. just fight me during the weekend as usual. not enough interested people. as far as Izuna's servants go? uhh..I don't know, try harder? my friend always release the armors second, and he doesn't use the ranged. you need to be intelligent with using your support units, they won't always help you. for example, I say that pencil guys aren't useless, but that doesn't mean I summon pencil guys just for the hell of it, I unlock them, but I only put them on the field if I feel they can help. depending on the opponent, I unlock them after blades, and I might use the before blades if I want to be less predictable.

Ha Ha! read my guide loser! ok fine. It's worth noting I play Sol slightly different than Panda, due to my use of units he wouldn't bother with. I place greater emphasis on using all of Sol's units when they present an advantage to Sol, so contrary to what panda says, I do put stronger focus on servant strategy. I have my own reasons for doing that. Kou2007 is still better than me though, so what do I know? he knows what he's doing better than I do, he's a lot more efficient on handling his units than I am. needless to say, Panda is way better than I am, comparing my current skill and his skill when he quit. when I asked him why he plays sol so much, he replied. really though, Sol is a good character, you just need to get used to handling his crappy units and deal with them. you do all the work, they are just there to control the map. it's really hard to play as Sol if your not used to trying to control the map largely by yourself. watching the video that Panda linked in the second post and watching panda's playlist (and studying them!) will help you too. and also reading my guide needless to say. get used to acting on your own, and get used to your units so you can use them to your fullest extent. his crappy units don't bother me anymore honestly. ad Sol as a master is only really dangerous when you honestly know how to fight with him correctly. you need to be good at fighting to show how dangerous Sol can be. practice some combos that do big damage with no tension, and the ones that do tension, make sure they don't bankrupt you, and make sure you have combos for every method of moving in! so in short, watch panda's videos, read my guide (for real, it's good, read it loser!) and practice your ass off. searching for GG2 on nico video helps. I'm going to make a GG2 video topic or something like that before the end of the week. I'll definitely do that ok? lots of resources in one definite place. you'll enjoy videos showcasing skilled players using all the characters, if not as the player, as the opponent. I will also link to Kimera cryin's playlist Directly, and the GG2 broadcast committee as well. I made a youtube playlist for GG2, and although it has pretty much every video panda made, it also has videos panda did not put in his playlist, so I figure you can see a bit more, like a sol getting his ass handed to him by a paradigm in a masters only. the Sol rage quits afterwords oh yeah, and expect to see the combo videos that panda put up and I placed inputs for them on this thread. it would go to waste if I didn't do that. future combo inputs depends on whether I have the time or not. not related: this thread was started in November 2007. the topic creator hasn't been on since march 2009. this thread is OLD. now, on to studying. *grumble*

yeah, thats what I'm saying sorry to fill the topic with a repost, but god damn, I was going back through the topic, and I thinking about how bad I used to be. check out this post WAAAAAYY back during the summer I think, when panda stilled played, and I think it was after blazblue came out. I used to suck REAL bad, and was struggling so much just to be decent in this game. one day while facing my friend and losing to him constantly, I was SERIOUSLY thinking of quiting this game. the only reason I didn't was because panda gave me some advice , and shortly afterward, posted a video of kimera cryin, that I used as my guideline to improve for quite a while. I used to think that Sol was hands the the WORST CHARACTER IN THE GAME. I never got so pissed at the game balanced after this post though. I did vent afterwards in one more posts, but that was more along the lines complaining about my lack skill rather than being angry at the game but I mean, HOLY CRAP was I pissed at this game when I wrote this post. SO FRIGGEN MAD I completely sympathize with those who have trouble with the game now, I forgot how hard it was getting in to it. I'm really glad I wrote those guides now. god I love this thread. any way, yeah, Tournament on friday or saturday blackgenma Aedesyr hey, Aedesyr, post what time it is so I can come up with a tournament time that fits your schedule. I need to calculate the my time and your time so we can all do the tournament. any body else form the EU want in?
-
Oh god, if JJJJJJ2 told you it, I don't want to know. he's god awful! ok, so aededyr and Blackgenma for the tournament on friday or saturday necrofear, are you in?
-
ahh...there it is, this message about the tournament and comparing U.S. against the Japanese...east vs west, in a tight deadlock of deadly, laggy matches is what inspired my tournament Idea, along with a video interview of some guy back in street fighter 2 when it first came out doing tournaments and stuff. just talking about serious, true competition that got me thinking, "man, I want to beat on some guys for real on GG2." Kimera cryin's Valentine is beastly, but he seems to prefer Sol now (who can blame him? Sol's so fun to play). I have seen him lose to avatar thine (who is no joke) and I have seen him lose in a 2 vs 2 match, where stuff backed fired in his face and he got bush whacked and hunted down. saying he never does mistakes with summoning his units...almost true. he knows whats going on in the map like he has an extra pair of Eyes just to look at the mini map,and pays attention to the most minute details, but I've seen him do stupid shit once or twice (the first time it cost him the match) So I'm sure if you study his videos and practice accordingly, and the lag is in your favor, you could have beaten him panda. but what the hell do I know? gah, he acknowledged me as a serious player, I am speechless! can't wait to beat you up ayumu! Necrofear, tell me how to do that 384 damage combo With Sol, incase you forget and overlook it in my other psot. EDIT: tournament for friday-saturday (still pending ) just singles for now, will add more according to demand. Blackgenma. anybody else?
-
no, the combos where sin and Sol do 350+ damage for almost no tension are dirty . but yeah, I hear what you mean by playing with Sol. it's worse with Paradigm, because I'm really used to Sol's units, so I'm not bad with them. with paradigm, I fear for my life with every master fight. you said you did a 384 damage combo with Sol. can you tell me what that combo is? oh, and forget the tournament Idea, I don't think enough people will join to get a worthy tournament going on. but I'd like to face your Sol 1 on 1 this weekend though. I'll be on boundary's account, lets play using default rules.

hey, weren't you working on translating some pages for the GG2 jp wiki? are you still working on that?
