  1. I've played with those guys at least once before, including Suizetsu. AJ, xithmos, and antikirby are pretty fun to play with a mic on, it was one of the few times I enjoyed playing with a mic and using it. usually the English speakers I run into are....not fun to talk to. even though I play with Sol.badguy on weekends, we don't really have anything to discuss on the mic, so we just communicate using text message. we both have the typing pad thingy, so it's bearable. I would have liked to have more matches with those guys, they were cool.
  2. I don't miss no good old days of GG2. I used to lose more frequently then I do now, if you can believe it.
  3. congratz on finally having your first online GG2 match. it's about damn time. Me and sol.badguy had some crazy bouts ourselves this night (or morning, whatever). we had some not so stellar 1 vs 1's, but some great 2 vs 2's (some of them didn;t stay connected throughout though.) our last match was a 4 sol 2 vs 2 on holy knights fortress. me and Sol.badguy vs 2 japanese guys. we were both ex sol, and them regular sol. we ended up winning through critical downs. it was pretty intense.
  4. I'll give them a look. Edit: removed all of cooking knights videos. got rid of some of buhi m2's stuff. man, looking at Buhi's stuff, the shit that he does some times is pretty fucking stupid...
  5. I'd wager that one isn't going to happen. I'd like to ask a favor. if anyone is bored and wouldn't mind it once and a while, take a look at some 2 vs 2 videos over at the GG2 thread, and if they see a video they think doesn't need to be on the thread, post the video here so I can check it out. I would like to remove some garbage from the thread. I was not as good at the game when I started the thread so I would feel differently now about poorly played matches.
  6. I cut a few videos out of the 2 vs 2 section of the GG2 thread. the thing was getting too big, so I cut everything related to "Over the rave" and "Robo Danchi". those guys.....aren't too good. may do more cutting later.
  7. some artist in the zepp muesuem drew that. he's got a thread there and the picture where his avatar comes from is all kinds of wierd. so anyway....that Izuna....yeah. I hate his stupid summon.
  8. oops. I mean the little explosion on Sol's break down! silly me! I noticed Ky's move had super armor thanks to....well It was so long ago I forgot. crimson jacket will not break if you hit him with a armor breaking move, it will only mean that Sol will receive the appropriate knock back reaction. hit him with a (L) 8x, and he'll fall down. the game refers to his super armor as "knock-back resistance". like the GG2 wiki says, it lasts the first 8 seconds of activating crimson jacket. I didn't think of using hunchback throw. oh yeah, and same with Sol's (F) 8x. it breaks through super armor as well, though it isn't really surprising. forgot to mention that. I was surprised when I found that gun flame breaks super armor though. boundary was cracking up.
  9. ayumu, in 1 vs 1, Sol.badguy beats me clean. shuts down my mana income, and runs like the wind when I want to fight him. unless I play paradigm, then he hunts me down like a mad man. kickin arc....hahaha. ayumu, you needs to gets on the weekend so we can play this game more often. Edit: oh yeah, I did some more testing on Sol. I wanted to see what moves of his have super armor breaking properties. here's what I discovered by finding moves that break Ky's super armor when he preforms (F) 8x. (F) 8x (L) 2x (L) 8x (yes, his slide breaks super armor) all of Sol's special moves with the exception of the second hit of bandit revolver breaks super armor. this even includes gun flame and the little explosion that does 5 damage at the end of break down. I also tested if the (L) 8x slide goes under horizontal attacks. .... it doesn't. I want to test Sin next. I think his (L) 2x goes under horizontal attacks. in the Ky vs sin masters only match in the GG2 video thread, I saw it go clean under Ky's stun edge.
  10. I don"t think I qualify for the title of noob. I'm just bad at the game. also, this morning's matches of 2 vs 2 were JUST TOO SICK! raven is the only other character I'm decent with other then Sol. I'm too dumnb to be good with paradigm, and I just recently picked up Sin (you proabably noticed). My is Izuna pretty garbage too. aedyesr, I 'll shoot you an invite next time I get the chance.
  11. Trust me, AJ doesn't black genma. why do you ask? your lucky I remember the origin of the name. the name comes from Onimusha. in the ps2 series onimusha, made by capcom. there are these enemies called genma. I think it's the term they use for all enemies in general. it's like the word demon in the game. when I picked up the name, I had a specific monster in mind though. these skeleton warriors with sun hats on. I just shoved the word black on because it sounded cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3mddCo00rk the guys I'm talking about are the nameless mooks in the video above. the video above is the intro to onimusha 3. when's the tournament now by the way?
  12. how that tournament go by the way? he said it utilized the left trigger for parallel movement.
  13. I do have GG2. I also have a 360 controller. and a copy of dead rising and blade storm. blade storm is kinda boring though:gonk: ok, let me explain. on the weekend, I usually go to my friend boundary's house. I used to live in his town for many years, but I moved about 2 towns after I was done with high school (um, I think that was roughly 2 years ago, a little less then that). I don't have a job, and I haven't held one for over a year (I'm a college student though, so it's not like I sit around all day), so I don't make a lot of money that I can waste on crap like a 360. besides, I recently deduced that even if I got a 360, I utilize a wireless connection, and that would make my online gaming less then reliable. there's also the little fact that making a online account cost money I don't have so that's not really an option for me. so, boundary doesn't really do much but sit in his house on weekends, so I usually pay him a visit. I mooch off his 360. I also visit other friends on the weekend, since I lived in the town so long, but I usually just see him. the copy of GG2 is mine, I paid for it. sounds weird but it works. I saw it on amazon for $20 new, and I read an old review that ACTUALLY TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS. unlike the professional reviews that give it a fucking 5 out of 10 because of the god damn campaign mode. seeing it for such a low price, I bought it right away. I'm a sucker for innovation, so I liked it, but I had a shit load of trouble getting used to the game. used to look for info on the game like mad. I didn't find anything but what I could gather from gamefaqs boards. people like flame master AJ, antikirby and Panda king would give out advice and discuss shit about the game. flame AJ made these little guides for characters on the boards that I copied and pasted onto my computer and I still have them there to this day, haha. by the time I started getting into it, blazblue came out, and everyone flat out stopped playing the game. everyone but panda (who eventually sold his copy for some reason, he was frustrated that the us scene died so thoroughly). I was confused because blazblue and this aren't even in the same genre, so I guess most of the players were just waiting for the next fighting game and were playing this just to compensate. the online at the time was a ghost town. jp regulars came back after a while, but the American regulars never did. a lot of the guys at gamefaqs played a SHIT LOAD of masters only. FlameMasterAJ is about the FUCKING BEST Sol when it comes to just plain masters only. I have a replay where I asked him to show me Sol combos and the first one he shows me does a total 418 damage. I watched that replay again recently and I was like "SHHHIIIIIIIIIEEEEET" his sol was so fucking beast he would do 300 damage volcanic vipers. he would do it on a consistent basis. it was recorded on video by xithmos. he never did tell us how he did that, only gave us a hint.. he would play the game like it was a fighter, and playing masters only with him showed me how much depth this game's fighting engine had. I used to think masters only was a joke until I fought him. I know it sounds like I'm making the 300 VV damage thing up, but it was true. Flame AJ was the best at "masters only" because it was all he would ever play. I just kept playing the game regardless and eventually, we come to today. I don't know how I managed to stay interested in the title, but I have. EDIT: oh yeah, the Idea of the guide came up when I asked panda to write down some basic character strategies for every character. I didn't expect him to honestly, because he has this thing were sometimes he would respond to your questions, and other times he would ignore you. I mentioned that if he didn't write up something I would to compensate. he said he would the following day. he didn't, so I said "what the hell, go for it and write a Sol guide" so I did. it was sloppy as hell, but it was generally correct. the recent edition of the FAQ basically used it a a skeleton for the sol section, over time I fixed it up and improved stuff. after posting it, panda apologized saying that he only knew concrete information on Sol, and maybe Ky, and that he wasn't good enough with the rest of the cast to write advice on them. I decided to write guides for every character in the game, and that's probably the only reason I kept playing, it gave me an excuse to play the dead game. and overtime, the community for the jp came back and I grew tolerant of the laggy bs and didn't mind playing them anymore. I also posted the original guides in this very thread. . it wasn't until AJ suggested it that I turned it into a FAQ over at gamefaqs. haha, this post is kinda off topic, but it's kinda not.
  14. I just type in "GG2" and look from there. also see what's up in the GG2 broadcasting committee. not all the GG2 videos can be found by typing "GG2" in the search bar, so I go there too. Kimera's videos are a good example, they aren't found in my usual searches, so I look at his page directly ( link found in the GG2 broadcasting committee's page) if you want the link to the broadcasting committee, it's posted on the GG2 video thread, in the section above the 1 vs 1 section. Edit: sol.badguy, you said you speak Japanese. can you read Japanese too? http://www12.atwiki.jp/guiltygear2/?%20vs.%E3%82%AB%E3%82%A4 I want to know what this page says. it tells you counter measures against Ky (and some Sin), but with a translator, the language is all sloppy. check the advantages of pencil guy. ┣ Advantage: 175 ●%: 80% 500 ★%: 50% ┗ Disadvantage ■ 50%:300% ▲ 100%:250% range units do 500% damage to magic types. SHIIIIIIEEEEEEEEET. they are primarily anti magic units. go figure. the poison damage it does is 5 damage for 10 seconds. that's 50 damage over time, not including the initial damage one takes from impact. apparently it does 20 damage on impact. I'm want to start using the unit more against the likes of valentine and Raven. possibly Paradigm, but I'm not too keen on that Idea. just for the sake of using it. also, I found out just how much blockhead can heal at the most. 350 maximum. myep.
  15. what are you going "ha!" at? I don't like scrolling down the page to find this topic, but whatever. also, no good videos on nico this week. all new uploads are not worth watching.
  16. it's ok. I got over it. that was pretty funny what you made there.
  17. master delta is... well I...... your right. he's bad. I was just being nice. but I'm not very good either so I tend not to be harsh in my judgment unless you do something REALLY RETARDED. elite kicked my ass do to.......me being retarded in the Sol vs Sol thing, and I'm talking about master fighting exclusively. it is also a symptom of me underestimating him (I fought delta before hand and I had assumed that he was just as...*ahem* good as him) he knows the basics and I've never faced him in a 1 vs 1, so meh. he's nothing special, but he served me hardcore when he played as Sin in master combat, and I can not make excuses for that. the results of my play is....inconsistent. like I said, sometimes I have my moments, other times, I get defeated by the stupidest shit. for moments like those, I have no one to blame but myself. actually, most of the time I win is because my opponent makes some simple mistake be it strategy or combat, and I exploit it. though I do have my rare moments of simply out playing someone, they aren't often.
  18. not really. I have moments when I'm good and moments when I suck. I think I played against him in 2 vs 2 not too long ago (2-3 weeks ago I guess), but either way, his performance was never really note worthy, nor did I directly face him either (always his partner I believe). I haven't played him in 1 vs 1 in a LONG time. I hope he's not confusing me with boundary, because back when he used to play, he would spank kicking arc on a consistent basis. boundary rarely plays this game now, and is hesitant because he's so rusty. that elite slacker guy, the one who calls paradigm "the dragon". I fought him and master delta most of those 2 vs 2. master delta was ok, but the eilite slacker kicked my ass on at least 2 occasions. 1 in a Sol Vs Sol fight (it was REALLY one sided) and another against his Sin, which is played to keep me out. had me feeling ashamed of myself. the last time I face elite slacker in a 2 vs 2, I won, but the circumstances were pretty insane. his partner and I were on our last leg, but they were attacking towards my ghost. I fucked up and got combo-ed by elite (he was Sin, I was Sol), and when he would finish the combo, I would die and have my master ghost destroyed. right before the finishing blow, my partner killed his and we won. I think my partner was master delta, but I don't recall. either way, sometimes my fighting performance does disappoint me, but I'm not really doing that bad on the strategy end. I feel I'm doing alright for a guy who plays about 2-3 times a week, and I'm still improving, so it isn't a waste. oh, I remember now! the last 2 vs 2 I did with kicking arc was on Illyria2, and elite was playing Sin, me Sol, master delta was Ky, and Kicking was raven. Kicking was critical downed 5 times by delta. I lost the middle on the bottom of the map, but I regained it because I decided to place units all over the map and that freaked delta out enough to spread out his forces. I was making some real head way when Kicking died. that's the last match I had with kicking if I recall, but not with delta and elite.
  19. shit. well, this up coming weekend I'll face you and you can tell me how I stack up against the rest then shall we? oh, I guess that means Kicking arc doesn't still think he's da best now does he?
  20. week days are a no go for me. sorry but I can't participate. do tell me the participants, who wins, and your experiances please. who's hosting this by the way? I mean, who's the one who thought up of a tournament.
  21. sol rapes the dragon. power attack non stop, and it drops pretty fast. more so if you use 50-75 dragon install or an anti armor rod. even 100 dragon ontal rapes that thing. but your regular units? not unless your throwing springboks at it.
  22. what do you mean in the bolded text? I am tobal360. the guide on gamefaqs is mine. I cannot believe you didn't think I wrote the Multiplayer guide on gamefaqs. what's more, you thought I copied and pasted somone else's work. look at the name on the copy right crap on the bottom of the faq and look at the name on my public profile. they are the same. Gabriel Tobal at your service. yeah, I was kind of peeved about the holy knights fortress match. I got owned. totally my fault though. there's this thing about raven's (L) 8x dive, that if you don't side step at the aproprait time, online, Raven can follow up with his x, x, and still hit you. if you remember I was having trouble trying to block and counter attack it. went in training mode and the problem wasn't happening though (I was able to block, side step and punish his moves no problem). crazy stuff, need to test further. and I know you can punish his (L) 8x when blocked because somone constatnly did that to me in a masters only match forever ago (and he did it flawlessly no less). I was surprised raven could be punished like that. maybe you'd like to test its properties with me sometime?
  23. tell me damn you. I don't play it much (out of circumstance) but I still want to know. in case you haven't notice, I have a bit of an obsession with this game. I mean, I wrote a fucking faq for it. I never considered writing one before this game. EVER. just tell me, besides, if I know about it, I can be aware of it and counter shitty strategies like it. I mean who's going to use it? you can post this shit on Gamefaqs board ANDI IT WOULDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Edit: fine don't tell, thanks.
  24. you speak Japanese? tell me what you did to do better Master Ghost suicides with lecces (I'm familiar with that player). I'm the only one who reads these boards and plays, so tell me what you did. you can find unit info by pausing the game and looking in the "rules" section. don't do that online of coarse. and no, that option does not appear in training mode, only in exhibition mode (and possibly campaign mode) seriously though, what did you do to make sure the Master Ghost suicides would work? I'm really curious.
  25. wow, I did not know about them leveling up faster at master ghosts. I will have to make changes in the guide to reflect this, but I need more studying on the subject in general. not too long ago I added a section in the FAQ about servants leveling up, so I will update it when I test out it's properties. I used to think that leveling up was neligible, until I relized leveled up servants take forever to kill. hey, Don't blame people for not taking advantage of divine gaze, it's properties are not apparent. the game never tells you that your servants recieve a stronger boost if it is by itself. I myself only discovered this when I saw other people do it, and it cought my interest. I will test it out and make the changes in my FAQ. stop hating on same character battles man, they ARE a good test of skill. they are just weird, because in a Sol vs Sol situation.....well, it's weird. Sol A: I dominate at close range! Sol B: so do I! Sol A: well, I have a reversal at close range! Sol B: so do I! Sol A: oh really? *goes up to Sol B and starts a combo wich is blocked* Sol B: haha, taste my Volcanic... *inputs 2y, but the lag says "no"* ah shit! *gets guard broken and eats 50% combo* regardless, getting some random 200 mana chest in the middle of a match doesn't mean "ItZ nOt A TruE TeSt Of SKILL" lol at kicking arc. he has the fucking worst ky I have ever seen. your better then me, and he's not, there's my opinion on the matter. lol cheap shoting. how do you talk to jp people?
