  1. you know, I rarely have the time to hit the thing with it, since I'm always fighting some body when they poop the unit out. the most effective thing I can say to use is a scare crow, because even without the range mode activated, the unit has considerable range. mouth zipper is active for 30 seconds when placed on a servant. it's worth using it depending on the situation. Gigant is such a bad unit, it's sad that I'm forced to use it on occasion.
  2. shoot, we should do a little gathering or sometime, since we're so close.

  3. the upgrades for the gigant do not change its attributes, it behaves like a armor unit regardless of the upgrade. the thing with the quadro baliff and the mouth zipper works perfectly fine, I tested it out plenty, and the GG2 wiki confirmed that the shooting mode has a 15 second cool down upon activation or something along those lines. you want a way to mess with the mode changes? go up to a quadra baliff, and watch it go into shooting mode. run out of it's range, and it will go to normal mode. go back up to it, it won't go to back into shooting mode for a while (like 15-30 seconds) to shooting mode is a item ability it has, and locking the item slot will prevent him form activating it. if you put it on him whilst he's in shooting mode already, you wasted a mouth zipper.
  4. sorry for the late reply, when having a discussion on these pages, you should go to the other person's page and post a message there, otherwise they won't be notified of a response. I assumed you ignored me. (which would make sense, seeing as my message was pretty random) prospect park is right next to Paterson, it has a radius of about 10 blocks, real tiny. I can walk to down town Paterson and take a dollar bus to Clifton from there. takes about and hour total I graduated clifton high school 2008, so I used to live there 2 years ago. strange, because it doesn't feel like it was 2 years ago, lol. do you have any friends who are good or at least really enjoy GG in Clifton? I only have about 1, and a few scrubby players who pretend they like it.

  5. I was thinking of drawing fanart of both characters for the longest time, but my art sucks. I'll see what I can sketch later, since both characters are my favorite from each game. maybe Sol doing the mosh pit.
  6. I don't know either, it's pretty inconvenient when that stuff happens, usually when I try to set up games with other Americans. since I don't really do that any more, I don't run into that problem.
  7. when I checked what you were doing while I was facing the two, you were killing an armor and a mobile unit in the corner of the map, at an isolated ghost on our side (and it wasn't next to your masterghost). seeing as that wasn't your master ghost, and I was dealing with the two enemy masters about 2 minutes, you got distracted by shit that wasn't the most pressing issue. if you had units advancing towards your master ghost, you should have had servants defending that spot. I know your master ghost was assaulted right before I was pinned down by both enemy masters, but I could have sworn we took care of all or most of them when I went to help. meh. I would look in the replay if I cared to confirm what I just said, but whatever, and I doubt it's possible now.
  8. everyday I decide to play GG2, I manage to play 2 vs 2's with few exceptions, because I'm an insomniac. they are easy to find, considering you don't mind staying up late.
  9. naw, even if you can't communicate, 2 vs 2 is where it's at. that's why you have the message system, which is all fine and good if the other player actually listens to you (and you listen to them). plenty of my matches are epic when I play with the JP (who is all I ever play with most of the time anyway) a good player will know why they lost and avoid making the same mistakes in future matches the more they play 2 vs 2, so things like communication other then the message system is not really needed if both players generally know what they are doing. 1 vs 1 aren't boring to me, but they aren't anywhere near as fun as 2 vs 2 matches. points are for shit and giggles, as well as practice. I enjoy it thanks to the lack of competitive tension, which is a nice change of pace. needs to get less crappy with paradigm.
  10. haha, Ayumu lost to me twice in a row when we played singles. that should tell you something right there, I'm terrible.
  11. oh I have, he makes Sol look easy to play as.
  12. new video Over the Rave(Ky) ROBO danchi(Iz) Vs. M talk(Ky) bky989(Va) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9514540 Holy knights fortress (L) holy knights fortress is a difficult map, you have to be aggressive when capturing important ghosts.
  13. looks like Valentine was going to rush Sin's master ghost (his main base), and as a line of defense, Sin placed bananas right next to this master ghost to trip any one who tries to attack it up close. this is pretty stupid because Valentine is a zoning character, she mainly attacks with a series of projectiles, so the bananas wouldn't really effect her (she doesn't need to get close to attack it). that's what I think anyway. where did you find this by the way?
  14. it's fine, it's not like your getting paid to do this anyway, and I'm the only one who's asking. if you can translate the three pages I asked for by next month, I will be very grateful. thanks for considering it.

  15. I know the other things that characters have, many characters have lots of things going for them (I wrote a FAQ about them) but overall, Sin has the most going for him. I can go on forever on everything Sin has. the bastard is overpowered, Raven's 104 needle has nothing on Sin's beak drivers. against the likes of characters other then Sol (and possibly paradigm) handling Sin isn't a massive ordeal however, your just facing a very strong character. my rant was mainly because Sol has it so bad. he's so reliant on being next to the opponent, and in this game, it's easy to stay away from him many a time. all the time? no, especially when Sol's opponents get on the offensive, but a lot of the time it is. he has no range, no zoning game to speak of, and that KILLS him. I look at Sol after playing him for MONTHS and I can't see why they decided to give him shitty units. he is in no way shape or form the strongest master (debatable when he goes 100 dragon install, but it only lasts for 45 seconds anyway). when an opponent can out zone Sol by dropping fucking bananas, he ain't the strongest master. you don't know just how frustrating it is to fight a guy who hides behind a ghost and having NOTHING to counter but to walk around. Gun flame is so laughably slow, the fact it can barely pass through ghost doesn't help at all. and to make matters better, Sol is extremely reliant on getting next to an opponent, but he doesn't have any special ability to help him accomplish it. no double air dash, double step, quick short dash, nothing. just pop on crimson jacket and hope you outwit your opponent.
  16. derp derp, you forget I play Sol, and his shit practically cost JUST AS MUCH as Sin's. (oh no! swordsmen cost 15 more mana then a drill! considering the strength of a swordsmen in comparison to a drill, it is MORE then worth it. 15 mana never made such a difference.) you guys are OVERPLAYING the cost of his units. when I pick Ky, it's like playing GG2 in easy mode, I am astounded in just how my units don't die EVERY 10 seconds. the cost of his units doesn't hinder my game play in the SLIGHTEST. Sin also has among the strongest elites in the game HANDS DOWN. I would trade Sol units and costs for Sin's ANY DAY. Sin rips through units with his beak driver and big beak driver. not to mention his overdrive...or his exciter. I've seen how fast he clears units, and between him and Sol, on a regular basis, there's not much of a difference, besides the fact that Sin's must use tension to finish the job nice and quick. Sol's only real good at this when he uses dragon install (50, 75, or 100) there's a rule to handling paradigm, and it's to not let him do as he pleases. carry a dispel around, find him and dispel your units of his status effect. paradigm is a potentially power crowd controller, but he sucks in almost every other regard, and even this strong points can be dismantled with dispel (always buy two when facing a paradigm, it makes your life easier, and his worse) all in all, considering just how AWFUL he is against the likes of Sin in a master fight (WORSE match up in the game), there's not much to compare here. you wanna know something cool about Sin and projectiles like raven's or valentines? his beak driver destroys ALL projectiles. that means you cannot out zone him if your in the range of his beak driver (and it comes out very fast). did you know that Raven has the WORST crowd control in the game? he practically needs those slow fields. they don't even effect masters in the slightest. Raven is a solid character, but he isn't as well rounded as Sin is, he's got a limited move list, and can be fairly predictable. his zoning game isn't as strong as Valentine's either. there's really no weakness that Sin has, he's good against anybody, has an army that can bulldoze it's way through pretty much everything, has an insanely effective body guard units that can attack you from a distance, and he's got every class in the game. is special skills are all useful, and VERY effective (especially his healing ability which is maddening), he can hide behind his superior units and beak driver you in complete safety. he can cancel almost everything he has into beak driver (and then into a powerful combo). he has a reversal counter that costs nothing to spam, is very hard to punish, and works on projectiles. he can't do much without tension, so it's a good thing he's can sit back and gather up for a beak driver which doesn't cost much. he also the only master that I see who CONSTANTLY stuns opponents. is he invincible? no, but he's insanely good. I wouldn't have a problem with him if Sol and paradigm weren't so bad at handling him. the other character have significantly less of an issue when facing him. Sol is fucking amputee. needless to say, yes, the best player will win, but HOLY SHIT, they're gonna have an easier time playing Sin. sorry, but I just needed to blow this off. /bitching
  17. here's my make shift tier list! Sin <-- the tip top! God tier! he has practically no weaknesses. Everybody else <-- ky is in the upper crust of this. I'd imagine Paradigm the lower half. Sol <-- garbage tier. no range (ghosts are his worst enemy), crap units, mana inefficient, easily out zoned and a garbage overdrive against servants. he has his strong points, but they don't out weigh his weak points. gimmick character (who I still main regardless)
  18. unit battle. paradigm's units vs Izuna's units. Izuna's units won every fight (!) Izuna's > Paradigm's. Izuna vs Sin's units Sin won all the fights. I dind't test the range units, but I think it would be clear that Sin's would win any wway so whatever. Sin's > Izuna's Sin's vs Sol's(lol) Sin's won every fight. Sin's > Sol's Sin's units vs Valentine's Sin's melee's beat valentine's (!) the wise men BARELY won. by the end of the match, there was only 1 wisemen left, and it was almost dead. it's a tie between them. Sin's Range units tore through valentine's that's 2 out of 3 sin's low level units win in terms of raw power. Sin's > Valentine's Sol(lol) vs Izuna Kappas beat Drills (sigh) Namehages lost to blades (OMGWTF) I forgot to test the range units. will do it next time. unitl then, the final result will be delayed. so for the record, Sin has the strongest low level units in the game.
  19. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/942201/58409 here's a link to the beginner FAQ over at gamefaqs. it will tell you how Ky basically functions. getting good with him is another story however. the game is active VERY early into the morning I have found. the only one who I constantly run into on weekends here is Sol badguy. I've never had a match with oblivion. if you want to have a match with me, it's going to have to be on the weekends. cooking knight(Ky) vs allowedkent(Ky) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9496417 (Round 1) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9496807 (Round 2 & 3) Bel Canto Valley2 I like the music. high quality capture card.
  20. gotta be a version difference. the game updates when you go on live to the online section and it downloads the information. what version is your game anyway? it should be ver. 1.46, the only way I know to check is by going to the online menu.
  21. phantom barrel only does up to 360 damage. that's the limit and is as strong as it will get. I don't know how much stronger it would get with exciter. I'm guessing it would do about 450, because exciter raises Sin's attack by roughly 25 percent. just posted this in the GG2 thread. Valentine is a strong character cookingknight(Si) Vs. YAS typeGEAR(Va) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6899769 (Round 1) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6915789 (Round 2) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6928130 (Round 3) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6932478 (Round 4) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6938236 (Round 5) Holy Knights Fortress I guessed the winner on the first round and I ended up right.
  22. to be honest, I don't have any problem with the numbers of my units when I am Sol, and I have never seen opponents have a problem with the number of their units when they play Sin and Ky, so that statement isn't necessarily true. the purpose is to see the strength of the units. considering the cost of the units do not always equal the strength of the unit is important, because Sol's low-level unit costs is out of whack with their performance (in a negative sense). same goes for Paradigm's rollers, they are more expensive then they are worth, even GG2 wiki says so. we have to accept the fact that Sin's units are flat out more powerful then Paradigms. (difficult for me to accept) Sol, take a look at the bottom map. if your interpretation of the map is true, then the the spirit seekers function is not explained in full detail, because the thing can shoot targets that the map is not indicating. http://www12.atwiki.jp/guiltygear2/?plugin=ref&serial=59&w=240 for example, spirit seeker can attack ghost 5 from ghost 4. but maybe the map is only telling you strategically advantageous locations, so you may be right about it's purpose then. also, I had no Idea the thing can shoot through walls, that's nice to know. Edit: before, I said that Sol's crimson jacket raised his defense by 50%. that was incorrect. it actually raised it by 100 percent. he takes half the damage he normally would. I don't know why valentine players would spam 2y, ask valentine players. did you guys know mobile units have more health than melee?
  23. how can spirit seeker shoot ghost 5 from 7? it's in a cave, one that 5 is outside of. same for ghosts 6 and 4
  24. yeah, there shouldn't be any need to be connected to Xbox live for you to play raven. that's not how DLC works. do what oblivions suggests, and maybe experiment with somethings. ok, you know how I said the GG2 wiki doesn't make any sense to me? well I lied, I went back and it makes total sense to me. tons of great info there by the way. Sol's units Drill: 520 Blade:800 Pencil Guy:370 Fire wheel: 1500 Engulfer: 1200 Gigant: 3000 Blockhead: 700 Queen: 780 Izuna units Kappa: 480 Namahage: 720 Nekotama: 500 Range unit: 350 Tengu: 1500 Giant armor elite: 3000 Kirin: 1000 elite magic: 750 looking at the chart for the other characters. Kou2007 was wrong when he said drills have the most HP of the melee's, its tied with swordsmen. Edit: there's a map to help players with their placing of the spirit seeker on the site, but I can't understand it! sample:http://www12.atwiki.jp/guiltygear2/?plugin=ref&serial=60&w=240
