Except I never said Ragna & Jin didn't do anything "evil", like you said Azrael didn't when he in fact did. The difference being Ragna was presumably doing it for "the greater good", and putting a stop to the "evil" that the NOL was doing with the cauldrons in secret from what the public probably knows. (Not counting the fact that his killings were apparently retconned out anyway). Jin killing people was during part of the Ikaruga War if anything, which is "reasonable" for why he killed anyone, given the context. (Not counting the fact that he could've been manipulated most of the time by Yukianesa or Hazama) Azrael on the other hand seemed to do it to the point of it being "genocide". The fact that BlazBlue's setting does have the Black And Gray Morality does make it hard to label "good" and "evil" in the purest sense, but within BlazBlue itself it is pretty simple in my opinion on who the "good guys" are and who the "bad guys" are. Why SoBa has some disdain for Ragna like he is a horrible human being and somehow Azrael isn't is beyond me lol.
-
He's killed countless people...... People have some really messed up views of Good and Evil apparently lol.
-
If we're going that route, he's neutral evil.
-
There is nothing that points towards this being the case. As I mentioned, he has yet to do anything remotely considered good or anything even neutral since he's only went against "good" guys no "bad" guys. He's even being "controlled" by people above Kokonoe in Sector Seven, and going as far to go against her completely by whatever means necessary. As it stands now, Azrael is an Antagonist through and through. To say otherwise just doesn't make sense to me.
-
That was just pure speculation on my part, nothing more. Like I mentioned, everyone except Ragna kept saying stuff like "how could a mere human be this powerful". So if something happened between him and Rachel, maybe there was some weird "power absorbing" thing, which could also explain the whole thing about him "eating" his opponents > thus explaining why he's so powerful. Again, just my own speculation.
-
I like to think there are varying "categories" of fraudulence: Ragna/Mu: Frauds cause they get high damage off seemingly easy combos. Tager/Noel: Frauds cause they get rewarded for doing dumb shit, like it is a core part of their gameplay lol. Arakune: Fraud cause he is the embodiment of Level 3 X-Factor in BlazBlue. Netplay helps.

The higher-ups of Sector Seven released him, he was imprisoned, he wasn't like "sealed away" in some magical land. It doesn't really matter how they detained him. Azrael is specifically sent after the BlazBlue by the higher-ups of Sector Seven, and you can assume it is "by any means necessary". But he doesn't specifically care about the task at hand because he personally just wants to "eat" strong enemies. Going after the BlazBlue (that Ragna has) is a formality which was blatantly obvious the way he talked to Ragna about it. In his own arcade mode he fights: Valkenhayn-Specifically comes after Azrael, Azrael did "something" to Rachel apparently. Maybe Azrael is now somehow part vampire because of this, which might be touched upon during his intro with Ragna. Tager-Azrael "finds" Tager. It sounds like he was also sent to deal with Tager and Kokonoe by the higher-ups of Sector Seven. Before and after beating Tager he specifically mentions going after Kokonoe next. Jin-Azrael runs into Jin, probably on purpose while looking for Ragna. He figures Jin more than likely knows where Ragna is. And of course because Jin is the "Hero of Ikaruga", Azrael feels the need to "eat" him. Apparently notices/senses Ragna after beating Jin. Ragna-Azrael finds Ragna. Ragna says something along the lines of Azrael isn't "human" which all the other opponents are questioning why Azrael is so powerful when he's just a "human". Azrael more or less says that's ironic coming from Ragna. Then Azrael goes through the formality of asking Ragna for the BlazBlue (clearing* his throat and changing his tone of voice and sounding unenthusiastic). Of course Ragna says no and Azrael gets his chance to just fight Ragna like he really wanted. There's really nothing "good" about anything he's done in the past or currently in the game. While there's a number of things "bad" about him. It's not to say he can't do a Heel Face Turn at some point like the character he closely resembles, but as it stands now I'd say he's as much of a "villain" as Arakune is since they are both going after the BlazBlue/Ragna.
-
From the beginning when he was first introduced we already knew there's a character exactly like him in another genre that I probably don't need to say who. So I don't see how they "fucked up" by making a newly introduced character strong, seems kinda irrelevant to me at least. I don't think there's some writer rule that all new characters have to suck when first introduced whether good guy or bad guy. And in the case of "bad guys", I think it makes MORE SENSE for them to be introduced as being powerful so that the "hero" can overcome them (at some point)....you know cause that's the whole point of those kinds of stories. Let's just call a spade a spade, Azrael is a "bad guy" compared to most of the cast. He sure isn't doing any good at the moment. I would say look up whatever tropes you feel like are applicable, cause I'm sure there's a specific one that fits him to a tee.

If the frame data wasn't enough: http://youtu.be/GjgrOHO92Tk?t=1m12s Daifunka completely hit Azrael out of wake-up Scud Punishment, on reaction no less. So as I was saying, I wouldn't advise using it as a reversal when you could just use Growler. I personally do not think it is worth the difference of the risks. Just thought I'd mention it again with that clear example.

There's going to be an article posted at some point. Here's what is listed for now: Gold Tickets: Tokyo Area 1: あばれんじゃー選手 (Mu) Tokyo Area 2: ミツルギ [Mitsurugi] (Hazama) Tokyo Area 3: ごろ [Goro] (Makoto) Tokyo Area 4: ひよこ [Hiyoko?] (Arakune) Osaka/Kinki Area 1: 辻川 [Tsujikawa] (Taokaka) Osaka/Kinki Area 2: フェンりっち [Fenrich] (Jin) Wakayama/Kinki Area 1: ガリレオ [Galileo] (Litchi) Nara/Kinki Area 1: まとい [Matoi] (Taokaka) Aichi/Central Area 1: まめ [Mame] (Taokaka) Aichi/Central Area 2: アル (Hazama) Gifu/Central Area 1: コイケ [Koike] (Litchi) Nagano/Central: 渡辺麻友ちゃんを推したい (Nu) Fukuoka/Kyushu-Okinawa Area 1: こんばんはGacktです (Hakumen) Kagoshima/Kyushu-Okinawa Area 1: ピンクの悪魔 (Tager) Fukushima/Hokkaido and Tohoku: ハゲ [Hage?] (Tager) Miyagi/Hokkaido and Tohoku : みお [Mio] (Litchi) Kanagawa/Kanto Area 2: TSB/Dora (Bang) Chiba/Kanto Area 1: ゆった [Yutta] (Ragna) Gunma/Kanto: らず [Razu?] (Carl) Just note that even that isn't fully updated. EDIT: I updated it now. Even still the list isn't "updated" completely, but it is now updated as of what is listed on the site at least. One of the mods is working on it though.
-
Not really. But the lag spikes in almost all our matches tonight + Mu in general doesn't help. Matches with TD and Streetwalking felt fine though.
-
The Agito being absorbed? That's what I thought would happen when we discussed it a while back, I didn't understand why it wouldn't be absorbed so it seemed strange to me if it didn't.
-
Depends on how later is later.

Thanks, I fixed them. Just an fyi to everyone if I haven't already mentioned it: Anyone can edit the Wiki. So if you are looking through it and see a minor mistake you can fix it if you want. I would ask however if you plan to make some major change to ask me about it first (through a PM or whatever). I've added most of what I can so far. The reason I haven't done "Cancel" is because there are some things I don't know what is what so I've left it alone for now. The staff also has to make a new "format" for the moves, which means I'll likely have to go back through them all again anyway, so for now I think it is fine (considering we don't have the game).

Basic Frame Data for Azrael has been added to the Wiki page: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Azrael_(BBCP) The Japanese players were pretty much accurate for a lot that was already given. Going to go back through and add some other stuff that I can figure out, but for the most part I have to wait until some of it is translated and for the staff to come up with what format they want to use. If anyone has questions about frame data stuff that isn't already answered by what's given feel free to ask me on here. Just keep in mind I do NOT know Japanese so I can't interpret everything properly. Notable stuff that's been discussed before and that people might ask: -Scud Punishment has invul. from frames 1-21, has 19 frames of startup (5+14), 3 active. OD stays the same. -Black Hawk Stinger apparently only has invul. on the 7th frame if I'm understanding it correctly. Startup is 7+4, 3 active. OD has invul from frames 7-13. -Growler has invul. from frames 1-11. Then 11-(53-117) has projectile guard point (absorb). 11 startup frames and 7 active. (For these 3 they have the same "symbol" for the invul. section, which is different to some other moves. I don't know if it means a specific invul. or full invul., so take that info with a grain of salt for now at least.) EDIT: -j.D and j.2D DO appear to be overheads if I'm reading it right. The Guard data listed for j.D and j.2D are the exact same as Valiant, which we've seen hit as an overhead. Hornet appears to in fact hit low, which is expected.

We now have Azrael frame data from the mook. I will be updating/posting info later tonight when I get a chance to go through it.
-
You show up whenever she's mentioned so it works out in the end.

After the legitimate knockdowns I was actually trying to tech by pressing the button after it (whatever move that is with the crazy untech time). Half the other times I wasn't teching on purpose, at least before I stopped caring, but never intentionally after whatever that one move is. During all the actual blue beat combos that were dropped or I guess don't normally work I wasn't pressing buttons cause I'm just tried of mashing in case my opponent messes up. It's really annoying, so I'm not gonna bother with it anymore.
-
CANNOT wait til BBCP so I can stop getting blue beat combo'd from refusing to mash buttons just in case my opponent makes a mistake. Or after a knockdown with ridiculous untech time to where if I don't time it precisely I get blue beat combo'd anyway.
-
I'll play you if you want.

-His Crush Trigger is the same, that's just a new move. -Not sure what you mean about his "HNK combos being back", his Valiant combos are still around and still look the same except for the fact that he's much faster so it allows for more "regular" attacks to land in-between the Valiant Charger moves (the ones with the dashes). -All his drive attacks automatically have weakpoint properties, so there's no weakpoints ever actually shown. Basically both weakpoints are permanently applied but not visible. For Bang: -That "super crash" move was already in the other games Unlimited form. -Steel Rain seems to cost 1 nail less to my knowledge, I'm almost positive it costs 4 nails regularly, but it looked like it cost 3 in unlimited form. -It looked like he was able to "cancel" 2D into something, whatever it was that's new. -His air command throw seemed to have forward momentum like his ground one, not sure if it was like that in Extend so that could be new.
-
Video of some of the things Unlimited Azrael has: http://youtu.be/A9Ro1haqaU0 -Much faster. (Faster attacks seem to make Valiant combos capable of doing more attacks in-between Valiant Charger dashes) -Has a new multi-hitting attack (looks like 5BB, goes into rushdown multi-hits). Hits overhead. -Has a new Distortion. The number "7" appears near the meters. Can't really tell what it actually does, can only speculate which seems kinda pointless to do lol. -Scud Punishment is permanently in effect, meaning all drive moves have their weakpoint properties by default. Possibly means 5C>BHS is automatically unblockable. SCP has enough hitstun to follow-up after. -OD BHS is used as the "default" version. Assuming SCP is also the OD version by default. -Growler possibly gains Phalanx Cannon just from landing it? Maybe even just DOING it.... -6C functions slightly different. -OD lasts a ridiculously long time no matter what health he's at. (Probably universal to all Unlimiteds anyway) That's what I've noticed at least.

Thanks again for posting up info Nokita.

These numbers are almost a year old but I'm sure they've stayed practically the same: BB:Extend (on PSN) # of Players Who've Played These Characters At Least Once In Ranked: 1) Ragna = 16,268 2) Jin = 9,499 3) Hazama = 9,046 4) Noel = 7,757 5) Platinum = 7,292 6) Hakumen = 7,247 7) Tager = 7,237 8) Lambda = 6,923 9) Relius = 6,722 10) Tsubaki = 5,128 11) Makoto = 4,557 12) Mu = 4,358 13) Bang = 4,033 14) Valkenhayn = 3,556 15) Rachel = 3,412 16) Taokaka = 2,832 17) Litchi = 2,448 18) Arakune = 2,379 19) Carl = 1,580 It gives you an idea of how "popular" characters are to use in-game, and nothing really to do with how good or bad they are at any level (or tier list). The only time that'll really change is when you get to the very top level when some players WILL decide to pick high tier characters more often. But it sure doesn't stop some players from picking the characters they like anyway. If you want to check yourself for the most recent numbers, just go online and look at the ranked listings for each character and just look at the bottom to see "last place". That'll give you the number of players who at least tried the character on ranked, which gives you a "usage popularity" in a general sense.
