  1. I'll save you some more trouble by posting this playlist: 2nd Azrael Players Meeting - AH Festival http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLk-r34AGz8nzXVZVACWFXSMGKq-Yd-0OQ Multiple Azraels doing mirror matches the whole time and landing quite a few Astrals. As for personal favorites, I don't really like playing favorites personally so I'll just say Dogura, Himajin, Senchou, Ogiri for a few that have plenty of matches between them that are still within the top few ranks.
  2. My advice: -Go to the video thread. -See who are the highest ranked Azraels, lets say 16th Dan through 12th Dan if you are worried about not having enough matches. -Ctrl+F then type name of any said Azraels. -Watch matches. You can't really go wrong with those players, and they at least earned their rank, instead of us trying to give personal opinions of who we "think" are the best we at least have some form of actual rankings now we can go by. The people in the rankings have footage or else they wouldn't be listed, between the top few rankings I'm sure there's more than enough videos. In fact people near the bottom have few matches themselves, and people near the middle probably don't even main Azrael, that's why you should just go with the top anyway.
  3. Salty as in closing the room as soon as someone beats you once, after you've been beating them for several matches? Who sent you hate mail?
  4. It's to be expected by now that someone won't. You make it simple, they won't understand what to do anyway. You make it detailed, they won't spend 2 mins to read it. I guess that's one good thing about getting the same few core players signing up for these types of things, they'll understand everything after the first few times at least. Hopefully the next tournament turns out interesting if you end up doing it, I'd like to watch that one for sure.
  5. 2/15 Akihabara Leisure Land Playlist for 2nd "Azrael Players Meeting" - "AH Festival" http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLk-r34AGz8nzXVZVACWFXSMGKq-Yd-0OQ
  6. And he has nothing to force oki, which in a game like BB with the tech system hurts a lot. And has none of the extra "movement"/feint options that Slayer has with Dandy Step and Mappa feint, and no command throw which would greatly help for obvious reasons. And that fact that he needs the weakpoints to do the big damage, whereas Slayer can do it for free by comparison. I think that covers my point enough at least.
  7. Azrael is basically Slayer in playstyle, his Valiant combos are similar to HnK's boost, he has rekkas like Fei-Long or any rekka character ever, and he most definitely does NOT have a way to "handle most situations simply by existing", otherwise certain match-ups wouldn't be inherently tough like they are. And I don't see where he has "a lot of varying abilities" either, I think you're making him more complex than he really is as a character, if anything I'd say he is lacking in some departments. His weakpoints are "unique" I guess, but that's his Drive and what makes every character unique in the game so you could say that for a lot of characters.
  8. That's probably what happens when there's no one to play with to begin with, you'll take whatever you can get.
  9. I really doubt that was a "setup", it probably happened unintentionally and wasn't expected which is why it "worked", and still loses to mashing.....Don't get too excited over simple stuff.
  10. Messing up an input then dropping the combo is the "most clutch confirm you've ever seen"? Ok......
  11. Wait what? When did this happen? I think I literally played one match against Daisy or maybe not even more than single digits. That's the first I've heard of it..... I tried to show some restraint in our matches after what you said last time (or whatever time it was), and didn't really go out of my way to try and Astral even if the chance came up, like I would normally try just because it's there. Either way your Makoto seemed good to me at least.
  12. Like I'm mashing on Sanwa buttons no less and still somehow get Blue Beat combos against me. If I have to mash THAT much harder to not get Blue Beat there's a problem. So then I am mashing and get "reset" from said mashing.
  13. I cannot wait til BBCP so I don't have to mash buttons for whenever people drop combos. Or so I can properly tech.
  14. For standing combos yes, you can go into 5A for a simple combo, or do the seals combo if you don't go into 5A. Or you do the better "IAD" combos ignoring j.D entirely (like in Extend). For CH combos, you can go into 2B. Near or in the corner you can get 4 seals, anywhere else you can do a different combo for ~3000. Seal combo: (Corner) JDch>2B>5D>dash 6D>C Nail>2D>JC>J2C Other combo: JDch>2B>5B>JC>IAD JC>delay J2C>5A>5B>Aerial From the jp wiki (which has a lot of information actually).
  15. Will we ever break out of the Star-Demon timeloop? Cause no matter what anyone says, nothing seems to change. Between all the in-game tutorials, Litchi forums, and countless times people have given advice, we always end up back at the same thing. Feb.8th "@StarPlaysGames I will teach you Bang, seriously. I'll get a mic on PSN, set it to 5 rounds whatever and walk you through him whenever." Feb.8th "@zeth07BB I got really bored doing that win Jin last time and none of it stuck. I'd rather we sit down in an actual place, but alas..." Right............. But somehow doing it with Akira-Shiro while you're just flailing around is good.
  16. He can only combo off it from CH as far as I'm aware in BBCP. I don't think it is worth complaining about is all I'm saying.
  17. Can you tell me what he gets off j.D starter in BBCP?
  18. Who the hell is going to get hit by that though? It's 24 frames and he has to be in the air which is blatantly obvious. You're not actually complaining about that are you? Outside of better proration on moves (which is probably universal anyway), some of those things are real head-scratchers.
  19. Thus this conversation, lol.
  20. I know. I've had a HRAP3 since 08? and I finally started getting weird directional inputs with it recently. I don't blame the stick itself though because the cord coming out has been crimped and some small wires have been severed just from me setting it down with the wire like that so much and not caring. But I honestly don't know what is actually causing it so it could be something simple to fix inside instead. I have another stick though. With that said, 5+ years stick life sounds better than 1+ year controller life from what some people seem to be saying. And I'm one of the mindset that fighting games were meant to be played on an arcade stick, like it wouldn't be as fun to play Guitar Hero without the guitar, racing games without a wheel, Time Crisis without a gun, etc. But that's just me, to each his own.
  21. Thanks. I appreciate the input, so I confirmed 3 things today: 1)Litchi combos are retarded as expected. (Check) 2)Play stick so your fingers don't hurt. (Check) 3)Play stick so your controller doesn't wear out. (Check)
  22. ...... My question would be, what exactly are Carl and Litchi "mashing out" if the conversation was just about that and not execution (even though you more or less implied that, if not outright said it)? Cause as far as I know, the DP input isn't the only input in fighting games people might be "mashing out". Bang can be doing TK fireball motions a lot, or air dashing a lot, so that's still a lot of D-pad use anyway. Like I even mentioned myself, I'll give you Tager for actually wearing out a D-pad cause they gotta mash 360/720. But every other character I call BS. It's like you randomly decided to mix who needs good execution in their combos (Carl/Litchi) and who just mashes the D-pad (Tager), then decided Bang was neither one yet Tager somehow was in the same group as Carl/Litchi....
  23. Since it was brought up previously, It seems like Kiryuu is using Sentinel Dump after knockdown sometimes, which seems like it would blow up tech rolls in either direction since it hits on both sides: http://youtu.be/7d-Zyi-qr_Y?t=13m31s Bullet tries to roll forward after getting knocked down in the corner and it hits her on the other side. http://youtu.be/UT4BgwV_qbk?t=5m18s There Mato neutral techs and tries to forward dash through but gets hit by it anyway. So I'd say it could be useful if you're expecting a roll, but if you expect neutral tech you should probably just go for your usual stuff.
  24. I play stick, so.....
  25. Me either. I use the same controllers for the entire system's lifetime. I guess it might make sense if it's players mashing 360s/720s, otherwise I gotta think violence or anger has to be involved to break a controller.
