  1. I don't think I really play any one particular way with Bang, it just depends on the match-up, what I feel like doing in any given match, and/or who I'm playing against. Of course if someone is outright better than me I can't just do whatever I want. Or if a match-up is rough, it's the same thing, unless I'm a little better than the other person (rarely) then I can try different things anyway. Like someone else said I was using FRKZ all the time after I played them, lol.
  2. GGs. I mean he is trying to hit you with a huge 55 inch nail, lol. Also GGs to H_Knight, I was doing my best to channel Kaeru since I think you play him offline in your scene lol.
  3. If you're still playing later I might try to play.
  4. If you'd like to contribute, please feel free to do so! Just post a combo that you've seen and know that works or have tested yourself. Linking to a video with the combo, particularly timestamped, is encouraged. Before you post any combos in the thread I ask that you know 2 things: 1) Make sure the combos aren't already listed. If there's nothing for a starter, then please feel free to post the combos. 2) Make sure the combos are actual combos. Provide the link to a match/video with the combo, preferably timestamped as mentioned. Or provide a link to the source if it is from the jbbs or somewhere else that's relevant. I will not take any "theory" combos for the combo thread, they must be confirmed to work and exist. The reasoning there are no 6C combos is because there have not been any posted on the jbbs/Japanese Wiki, or in any combo videos, or that I have personally seen in match videos up to the point that I had posted everything in the thread listed so far to begin with. I did mention it twice in the Combo Theory section of the thread about what is probably possible off it. If there has been a match where an Azrael landed a full 6C combo since then, please feel free to post it and I will add it. Same goes for anything else that doesn't have combos. Just ignore air starters for now.
  5. I imagine it retains some invincibility since it is technically apart of Growler. Not to mention Phalanx Cannon more or less destroys everything anyway. Another frame data investigation needed.
  6. Please bring the discussion back to gameplay and let the other stuff go, or take it somewhere else at least (Twitter?), or PM me or even a supermod if you feel there's an actual problem. Any further posts on that "discussion" directly, I will politely PM you asking you to stop and get back on topic and I will delete the posts from here on. Thanks. Gameplay discussion from here on please. Mid-post EDIT: Thank you Koopa_Klawz, carry on from there everyone.
  7. Questions that already have the answers provided, and "extra information" that isn't extra when the information already provided covered the question exactly or in detail already. Not sure what you're referring to about a "thread dedicated to it", if you mean making a Q/A thread, those questions are the exact reason why I don't want to have that kind of thread, and my reasoning in the other post is why that is. If you meant something else, then I don't know. But I digress. Carry on with the current discussions, lol.
  8. I haven't done anything to anyone since I've been the mod for this section, I have had no reason to, and I doubt I ever will. It is just the fact that it is annoying to put a lot of time into gathering information and organizing it (and even stating "Read Here First"), only to have people ask questions about that very same information that has already been provided. Quite literally your last questions in the other post are within the first few parts of the Character Overview thread, and the part about links is directly answered and related to your own experience, and even you yourself makes the point that we "really have no idea". It just undermines the work put into the forums if it is ignored in my opinion. It doesn't hurt to ask questions, it is just the principle of it when the information is already hand-picked and laid out for you to read instead of going through 70 pages of posts. If anyone is interested in learning a character I would kindly ask them to spend those few extra minutes of their time to read the threads before asking questions. Hopefully you can see where I'm coming from when these questions are asked. Look up Q Azrael in the Video Thread. I made mine myself. But here's an avatar request thread: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12203-Avatar-Request-thread-Read-first-post-BEFORE-requesting%21 Also I don't know where you can find quotes, but you can ask in the story thread and maybe someone can help you: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14880-Chrono-Phantasma-Story-Thread

  10. I disagree on Amane and Carl at least. The fact that Azrael gets to make the drill setups practically invalid takes away from Amane's gameplan, and it isn't like he is inherently good to begin with. Carl is still Carl, him having low life has more or less meant nothing during the entire existence of BB for how good Carl is. Hitting Nirvana doesn't do much of anything when Carl can purposely bait you into doing stuff like that to put you into setups. Since you asked, this is entirely my opinion and based on watching a ton of matches and is in no way meant to be taken as fact since I obviously have zero experience with the game. That should be made clear first off. This is strictly as an observer of the game, and to be taken with a huge grain of salt. I'm not going to use numbers since they seem arbitrary for this: Ragna = Probably slightly Azrael's favor. They are both trying to do the same thing in terms of gameplan, and Azrael probably has higher average damage. Neither character can particularly control the match more than the other. Jin = Jin's favor. Jin just seems to be universally better at everything, and has more tools compared to Azrael. Noel = Even or maybe slightly Azrael's favor. See Ragna, but Noel's "gameplay" can be more disruptive compared to Ragna. Tager = Slightly Tager's favor. Azrael needs to get in to do anything....Tager wants you right next to him. Azrael needs to do links....Tager can "mash" for big damage due to Azrael's errors. "Random" Tager or a "good read" can sway the match easily for Tager. Azrael's cross-through loses to 360s I believe. Tao = Slightly Tao's favor. She is way more mobile than Azrael and now has oki. Since Azrael has no real oki he can't keep her easily in check. Rachel = Slightly Azrael's favor. Azrael can disrupt Rachel's gameplay fairly easily and make some of her stuff null and void due to Growler. Arakune = Even or slightly Arakune's favor. Arakune is Arakune, I probably don't need to go into detail here. Litchi = Slightly Litchi's favor. Litchi as a character seems better overall than Azrael. See Jin. Carl = Slightly Carl's favor. Carl is still going to be in control of the match most of the time. Like against Tao, Azrael has nothing for real oki so even if you do manage a knockdown you still have to make the right read to capitalize or else he's going to be in control again. Bang = Even, possibly slightly in Bang's favor. Bang's nails are relatively fast projectiles so it isn't like Azrael can use Growler in the same scenarios he could against others. Bang's extra movement makes it harder to keep him in check. Unfortunately for Bang, his crouching combos are terrible so his mixup is slightly less threatening in general. Hakumen = Slightly Hakumen's favor. See Jin / Litchi. Moral of the story, better tools / better character. Nu = Slightly Nu's favor. She has more tools to control the match than Azrael, and it isn't exactly easy to Growler her swords. Tsubaki = Even, possibly slightly in Azrael's favor. Tsubaki doesn't seem to have anything to really control the screen or pace of the match compared to other characters against Azrael. She also doesn't have anything to really cover her approach safely most of the time without meter. So like Ragna, it is more of a toe to toe match. Hazama = Slightly Hazama's favor. See Tao for the general idea, except he doesn't have real oki (as far as I know.) Hazama is way more in control of the match, and since Azrael needs multiple attempts to hurt someone with no real oki, the problem is there. Mu = Mu's favor, no question in my opinion. Her lasers really disrupt everything that Azrael does and it is hard to properly Growler them for the risk of getting hit. Makoto = Even?, possibly Azrael's favor. I haven't really seen much of Makoto vs. Azrael in all honesty. Generally speaking I imagine it would be similar to how it is with Ragna. Valkenhayn = Slightly Valkenhayn's favor. See Tao / Hazama. Platinum = Even maybe. Platinum has a lot of different tools but has to have specific ones unlike other characters who can do things all the time. Since she has more tools compared to say Ragna/Makoto, I imagine she has a slightly better chance. Relius = Even. Same scenario as Carl, but Carl is more threatening. Amane = Slightly Azrael's favor. Growler makes Amane's drill oki practically useless. Also knowing when to just take the drills makes Amane not as effective. Bullet = Even?, possibly Azrael's favor. See Makoto. Izayoi = No idea, lol. I've barely seen any Azrael vs. Izayoi at all to form a real opinion (barely any Izayoi in general). I'll have to go back and watch more matches to even get a proper answer.
  11. It is fine to ask questions, I just want to make sure people are reading the things that already have the information provided for you. The character overview explained the moves in basic detail (how to do them), while the combo thread went into further detail with an entire section in the combo theory part dedicated to Valiant Charger/Hornet Chaser, explaining them further. Then there's an entire section for combos that give both weakpoints. There's also mention of tough match-ups in the character overview, but since that's more of an open-ended question it is open for discussion since there's no exact answer. That was my reasoning at least.
  12. Please look over the Character Overview thread here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15788-CP-Azrael-Character-Overview-%28READ-HERE-FIRST%21%29 And the Combo thread here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?15328-CP-Azrael-Combo-Thread All of those questions are answered in those threads.
  13. Pre-ordering P4A has nothing to do with BB, unless you mean you won't be spending time on BB because of P4A in which case the question is meaningless about CS or EX anyway if you aren't going to put time into it. If we are to ignore that comment entirely, the same thing applies that has previously been said. I can't speak directly on Makoto but I imagine EX Makoto is closer to CP Makoto than CS Makoto, regardless it is still the same question you have to ask yourself. Is it worth X amount of money to learn stuff/actively play people now compared to what you already have OR just wait? We can't really answer that for you besides what has already been stated.
  14. It is all about hit-confirming. I do NOT think you should just autopilot into what you think might be a CH combo when it could very well not be, because that kinda thing gets you killed/loses your momentum and loses a match. You should know all your hitconfirms properly and NOT autopilot into something that might not work. In the case of that combo, while he might have autopiloted the 5C>236A, that is guaranteed to work no matter what and even works as decent pressure ender if they block it. Then he properly hitconfirms the FC by following up with the RC and into a huge full damaging combo. If you want to go for a FC combo that only works if it FC, you more or less have to specifically be expecting it (outside of actual punishes). That is the reason for knowing full FC combos that wouldn't work otherwise, save those for big punishes. Some examples of the differences between hitconfirming CHs: Bang's 2D, you can easily hitconfirm the difference between non-CH and CH, there's absolutely no reason to autopilot into either one of them. non-CH 2D = Can go into a simple air combo. CH 2D = Can give you a 4 seal combo or something else. If you just autopilot the CH 2D combo, that will NOT work (outside of character specifics), and you will lose damage / knockdown / etc. If you just autopilot the non-CH, you lose more potential damage or seals. Bang's FC 5C, this is one example where the difference between non-FC and FC can have almost totally different follow-ups but it's hard to effectively use them. I haven't exactly tested everything that's possible, but I know you can follow-up FC 5C with like dash 5A or 5B or IAD j.4B, things that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Yet there is absolutely no way to properly hitconfirm the difference, so you more than likely will just go into the default 5C combos to be "safe" about it. Or you have specifically expect FC 5C, in which case you can just press 5C>wait to see FC> then follow-up with 5A/5B as an example, but if it isn't then you just missed out on a combo. (EDIT: I'm still talking about Bang here, to avoid any possible confusion, just wanted to make extra note of that.) Just wanted to give examples for why it is important to hitconfirm properly. In my opinion you should go with what is guaranteed, but know the differences between the two when it is applicable.
  15. CP probably won't be out for a few more months at least, so you have to ask yourself is a few months of learning and experience worth $20. It sure wouldn't hurt at least, especially if you're just getting into the game. The other thing you might be interested in is the fact that Extend has the story for everything revealed so far in the games, so if you care about that kinda stuff it's kinda nice to have. As for online, there's still people playing so that isn't really an issue as long as you actively look for people to play against.
  16. I'd rather not go too far into theory and just wait and see. No point thinking too hard about it now.
  17. Initially I thought there might be a gap, but I'm just assuming he cancelled into it. Either way I'm going to also assume even if there is a gap, the opponent would need to have a move with invul. or early counter frames to hit him "out" of it. I can't imagine the gap is big enough to recover (from 2A) and then just press 5A for example to beat it entirely, at best I would imagine a trade which considering the circumstances would be in Azrael's "favor" just for getting both weakpoints. If the opponent did nothing and just reacted with a non-reversal invul./counter type move (let's say 5A), that would clear everything up immediately, so I guess we gotta wait and see. That's a lot of assuming, but yea, I at least think my point still stands as you said.
  18. It probably has startup invul. but characters with reversals/counters that they can cancel into can more than likely just hit him out of it on reaction. http://youtu.be/ovF6jLKaOsg?t=4m10s 2A clearly didn't hit him but he was able to cancel into Yukikaze. So I would advise not thinking of it as an actual reversal, especially since you can use Growler if you're going to make that read. Unless you know for an absolute fact whatever the opponent is doing can't be cancelled into something that could beat it out, or they can't cancel into barrier.
  19. Thanks for the heads up.
  20. You'll have to open ports on the router (for the PS3) or just put the PS3 into DMZ mode. It's fairly simple to do really. No matter what you do however, it will probably just go to Type 2 NAT since it is going through a router (I'm assuming). If you are directly connected to the internet, that is the only time you'll be able to get Type 1 NAT (that I know of). Quick google search to save you some trouble: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network-General/How-to-put-your-PS3-into-a-DMZ/td-p/10655314 Hope it helps.
  21. Add me again if I'm not still on your friend's list. Hopefully we can play sometime.
  22. A few interesting things from some recent videos: Q using Sentinel Dump cross-up during mid-screen pressure: http://youtu.be/rk_b2lc56eE?t=11m46s I'm assuming it only does that if they are crouching. Depending on how you use it, it could be hard to react to, as it did catch Four Ragna quite a few times. Not something to do all the time, but another thing to consider trying at least. Hatsugari Rionsutain using Growler absorbing one of Noel's moves, and then a Cross-through>Phalanx Cannon mix-up that is incredibly fast: http://youtu.be/gBtEM40bXow?t=20s Situational due to needing to absorb a projectile with Growler, but if you do it does seem REALLY hard to react to that. He gets it a few times in that round at least. Follow-ups are just as situational but if you're fortunate enough to be near the corner or have some meter it can prove useful.
  23. Where you from if you don't mind me asking just for future reference? I saw your room but didn't join since the connection didn't show up for me.
  24. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm20256237 Video showing how Black Hawk Stinger interacts with different guard points/counters and the timings of it. Some funny Growler stuff at the end. I'd say most of it is what we would expect to happen but still good to see some stuff demonstrated. Unfortunately they don't seem to go over OD BHS guard point unless that was what was briefly explained when it appeared, but I sure don't know for a fact. Didn't post this in the video thread directly since it is kind of a random demonstration of things, but it will be on there when I next update the thread. Thanks to Kurushii for pointing the video out to me.
