Technically Bang's FRKZ Challenge Mode combo builds it's own meter for Ashura as well and then some. And I'm sure there are plenty of instances where people don't have a burst available to be able to land it, if anything that's the least of your worries. You should be more worried about the execution it takes.

PSN/XBL - Ranked Character Usage / "Popularity"

That's obviously not possible so no point in even suggesting that. And I would expect you can't use Unlimiteds in Ranked so in fact those stats do exclude Unlimited characters. -

Which combo are you referring to? Because I've done a FRKZ combo with 5C on Hakumen in the middle of it or whatever and it worked fine. I cut the combo short in the end, but it worked like it would any other time it seemed like. I did (on crouching/mid-screen), j.C>5B>2B>2C>6 Dash>5C>6D>6 Dash>2D>and ended it at j.C cause a bumper was right above me. I'm more than positive I could've gone into j.4C>etc. if the bumper wasn't there to potentially mess up my inputs. Obviously you don't need the 5B or 2B for some of his FRKZ combos and I know there are way better ones, but at least that's an example of 5C working like it would anyway. Unless I'm missing something and don't understand what you're talking about. -
I did this a while back on PSN at least, just to see the difference between end of CT > CS and at one point CS JPN release > CS US release (a few weeks AFTER it released in the US). Kurushii posted up the JPN PSN CS release numbers on Tauntloop at least back then. Now that I have it on both consoles and the CS2 patch being released, I figured I'd look to see what it's like now. (Mid-Screen*) (Standing) – (CH) 6C>B Nail Cancel>6C>j.4C>j.623B>d.6D>623B>2B>5B>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [5,155] + 1 Seal (Mid-Screen*) (Standing) – (CH) 6C>B Nail Cancel>6C>j.4C>j.623B>d.5C>6D>623B>5B>6C>j.4C>j.C = [5,336] + 1 Seal (50%) (Mid-Screen*) (Standing) – (CH) 6C>B Nail Cancel>6C>j.4C>j.623B>d.5C>6D>623B>5B>6C>j.4C>j.623B>Ashura = [6,110] + 1 Seal There might be even more damaging ones, but I haven't messed with them much. Oh yea, one that I don't have on my list yet from what I remember: If you can get (CH) 6C in the corner, you can immediately go into 5C>6D>etc. after the B Nail cancel. Probably 5.5k+ or something. I'll have to add it to my list and see how much exactly next time I play. One might think getting a (CH) 6C combo isn't likely to happen, but there's a lot of punishable instances where this will work. Ex. have a Hazama player in the corner, they try to reversal Hotenjin, you block it and they eat 5k-6k+. It's definitely something you should be looking to use since it does huge damage.

You don't necessarily need to TK the 623B, you can just do regular 623B. In fact, a j.623B will make them be able to tech out sooner. Most damaging will probably come from 5C>623B though I guess it isn't the safest. 5C>623B>5B>6C>j.4C>j.623B>5B>2B>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [3,731] and can still keep oki in the corner if you do the j.4C while jumping backwards. Or you can add a 2C or 6A before the 623B and do 3.6k and 5D will do 3.5k. And if you're wondering dj.623B instead of dj.C actually does less damage for this combo at least. While comparing, I apparently did a combo that did 3,864 but I honestly don't know what I did or even if it was a 5C starter, so I guess that's useless information lol unless there's a combo somewhere that does that much off 5C. Further messing around, if you happen to get a FC, 5C goes into 6D. So insert 6D before 623B in that combo and you get [3,992]. -
Meterless? If so, what combo?
-
That's been there since CT. And it has to be a CH, and good luck hit confirming it, you pretty much have to be committed to it.
-
Thought I'd share this here as well. I made a combo video: BBCS2 - Bang Combo Video It might be the best combo video ever, just saying.

There's plenty of 4 Seal combos. But you're not going to get one off 5A or 5B starters mid-screen outside of some random RC combo someone comes up with probably. The most that I've seen off 5A or 5B (no RCs) is 3 seals but it only works on Hazama and Taokaka. In the corner you can use the same 3 Seal combo and it'll probably work on more of the cast. But to my knowledge there isn't a 4 Seal off 5A / 5B....yet. -

zeth07 replied to DaiAndOh's topic in Bang Shishigami
As soon as you do j.D in a combo like that, you are pretty much committed to either a simple air ender into oki / corner carry or doing the web nail seal combos. Because even if you manage to get wall bounce during combos with j.D like that, you're only going to get maybe 1 or 2 extra hits in, IF that, before they tech. So you basically can't get a "corner ender" or whatever you want to call it. Actually, I kinda proved myself wrong as I was typing this. If you start with 5B, you could do 5B>2B>6C>j.D>Web Nail>d.6C>j.4C>j.623B>d.6D>623B for [2,816]. Unless you mean specifically off of a combo into j.D>2B>etc. Simply put, your options are really limited as soon as you go into j.D during a regular combo. -

As regular Bang or FRKZ? I'm not really sure what you're talking about, so I can't help with that. Give me an example or explain it a little different and I'll try. -
You can do this one if you don't want the 2nd seal. (Mid-Screen*) (Standing) – 2B>5B>6C>IAD j.4C>j.623B>(d.5C)>6D>623B>2B>5B>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [(4,439) / 4,236] + 1 Seal

That I've seen, 6-10. Could possibly be more. (Mid-Screen) (Crouching) – j.C>2C>6 dash>2B>[9 dash>j.4C>2 dash] x5>2 dash>8 dash>j.4C>X = Combo either dropped at the end or it killed them already. (Back to Corner) (Crouching) – j.C>2C>6 dash>5C>6D>6 dash>2D>6 dash>6 dash back towards opponent>j.4C>2 dash>j.4C>j.D>2 dash>2B>8 dash>j.4C>2 dash>9 dash>j.4C>[2 dash>8 dash>j.4C] x4*>8 dash>j.4C>8 dash j.4C>j.623B>land>Ashura = Pretty sure that was 10. -
That's not necessarily true. The little bit of time I spent messing with this so far, it seems the combos get cut much shorter than other ones. Without heat, Bang can get 4k-4.2k off the corner air throw within that same distance using some of the other known combos. I'd be interested to see if someone manages to find one using this setup that breaks that. Hopefully someone does. With heat, this seems like the way to go.

While I'm not sure which combo you are talking about for this, there is actually a 3 seal combo off of 5A that only works on Hazama / Taokaka but is kinda rough on her. There is also a nailless 2 seal combo off 5A that only seems to work on Jin, Rachel, Arakune, and Tager. *Character Specific* (Mid-Screen) (Standing) – 5A>5B>2B>6C>j.D>5D>j.B>j.4C>j.C = [1,919] + 2 Seals //// Works On: JI, RC, AR, TG *Update* This combo works on Valkenhayn up until the j.C, and I didn't figure out any other enders to make it work. So I probably wouldn't bother doing it on him. Didn't work on Mu or Makoto, still haven't tested Platinum obviously. *Character Specific* (Mid-Screen) (Standing) – 5A>5B>2B>6C>j.D>Web Nail>d.6D>Web Nail>5D>sj.C = [1,937] + 3 Seals //// Works On: HZ, TK *Update* Doesn't work on Mu, Valkenhayn, or Makoto. No Platinum test yet. *Character Specific* (Mid-Screen) (Standing) – 5A>5B>2B>6C>j.D>Web Nail>d.6D>Web Nail>d.5C>6D>623B = [1,916] + 3 Seals + Low Air Tech //// Works On: HZ, TK *Update* Doesn't work on Mu, Valkenhayn, or Makoto. No Platinum test yet. For Hazama you actually don't always have to do a d.6D but it's necessary for Taokaka, so you might as well just do it anyway. How useful are they*? You can decide for yourselves.

No. It's the 2nd "hit" 99% of the time for any combo involving command throws and rapid cancels.

Just a heads up: Assuming I did the combos correctly, first one did 3,556 and took them out of the corner, while the second one did 3,224 and kept them in the corner. I also found that the first one was rather inconsistent not just for per execution on the TK 623B but also for some reason the 2B would whiff or mess up too much for my taste due to spacing or timing I guess. Also these combos seem to do more damage and give the same results: (Near Corner/Corner) - Ground Throw>d.6D>623B>5B>6C>j.4C>j.623B>land>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.C = [3,640] takes them out of corner. Added dj.4C takes it to 3,713. (Near Corner/Corner) – Ground Throw>d.2B>623B>6C>j.623B>dash under>5A>5B>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [3,431] keeps them in corner. They also feel much more consistent and easier to do, at least to me. EDIT: Scratch that. The corner ground throw combo in Challenge Mode does even more anyway: (Near Corner/Corner) - Ground Throw>d.6D>623B>5B>6C>j.4C>j.623B>land>5B>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [3,804], keeps them in corner even. (I haven't tested the combos on all the characters though) @DaiAndOh - I would suggest making a section for BnBs off of each hit / area on stage that hopefully work on everyone, that are literal BnBs meaning combos that are easy and should NEVER be dropped by a remotely decent player and still give reasonable damage (meaning not stupidly brain dead combos should be listed.) Then have a section for "Advanced" combos that are slightly harder or a lot harder but give more damage. Example: BnB Section: (1 Nail) (Mid-Screen) (Standing) – 5A>5B>2B>6C>j.D>Web Nail>d.5C>6D>*Bumper*>623B>*Bumper* = [2,054] + 2 Seals Advanced Section: (Mid-Screen*) (Standing) – 5A>5B>2B>6C>IAD j.4C>j.623B>d.5C>6D>623B>2B>5B>j.A>j.B>j.4C>dj.C

It shouldn't be too hard to hit confirm that, you have plenty of time. One time I did it and went into j.B like it was CS1, landed from the recovery of j.B, and still had time to dash 5A and pickup a combo. -
That was already in CS1. He was invulnerable while posing. I don't know if they changed his invulnerability now in CS2 or not though. At least Ashura puts Bang at a positive or neutral state afterwards now (I didn't look at the frames so i'm not exactly sure which it is).
-
Posting this in here because it is relevant to combo possibilities or lack there of in certain instances for Bang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvLVbtnqf9A&feature=player_embedded I guess there will have to be specific notes made in the combo section where these glitches may apply.

He gets more than that. He gets 3k easy in corner, and probably 4k with Ashura or Daifunka, and that's not with FRKZ. With FRKZ he can still probably get 5k+. In my opinion, from what I've seen in all the Japanese matches I've watched and the little time I spent on the PSP version, it still seems entirely optional just like it was in CT and CS1. It'll just be player preference, and I honestly prefer it that way. -
I probably wouldn't bother using the Heat for that combo unless it would kill them, in which case you probably wouldn't be going for a seal version of that combo anyway and you'd probably just want whatever does the most damage off it. The Heat would be better used elsewhere. In this case, probably to go into FRKZ since you would obviously be doing a 4 seal combo with the purpose of going into FRKZ. Just a thought.
-
No joke. I randomly decided to keep track of the W/L in the Bang matches I've watched and gone through for combos, and the Bang players went 5W-16L against the Carl players in the videos we have posted. Obviously that doesn't reflect the match-up accurately and isn't a good sample anyway, but it makes you think about it at least. Bang v. Carl was 3-7 in CT, and it is looking to be the same in CS2, or even worse (2-8) if that trend holds up and turns out to be accurate. I'd give other examples for comparisons sake, but it doesn't matter really since it isn't really anything to go by. But every time I watch a match of Bang v. Carl I automatically assume Bang will lose cause it looks THAT bad.
