  1. Just wanted to say I have the same problem while using Sol Style on Firefox 8.0. On the main page of the forums it shows up fine, but if I go into the main page of the BlazBlue forums it looks like that. I have to hover over the character forum link to see the name. Not really an issue for me since I've used it long enough to know where my character is, but thought I should mention it still.
  2. Reposting cause I'd like to hear your opinion about this topic since I guess you missed it. Unless you didn't feel like answering it which is ok, lol.
  3. Not really sure where you're getting a "tone" from what I said. It's the same thing with Star I guess, if you read my post in a normal "tone" of voice, I don't really see how it's being mean or talking down on anyone. It's not like I personally attack you or Star in any of my posts. My point with the post about yours was just the fact that the stuff you're talking about wasn't something a new player should even consider doing. Yet he's all happy about your advice, and gets pissed at me, I just didn't understand that at all. I mean seriously though, what part of my other posts was like a personal attack or me "hazing" him? And my thoughts on those moves apparently differs greatly from yours I guess, so it is what it is about that. If I need to brighten up, other people need to not be so sensitive (even though there was no malice in anything I said anyway...) Anyone who has read my posts in the past knows I've never called people scrubs or noobs or anything remotely like that, I pretty much never talk down on people unless someone is specifically talking shit and I always try and help people. So honestly I don't even know where half this stuff is coming from. But I guess I gotta walk on glass around here, noted. Like I said, I guess my definition of what "strong footsies" are is different then his or yours. Things that are used rarely or only in certain instances don't really fit in the category of strong footsies for me, but it's whatever. Agree to disagree I guess lol.
  4. DacidBro's Advice: Gets praised My Advice: Gets mad Makes no sense. "3C strong footsies" = How is 3C a strong footsies tool? 3C is something you should use sparingly, at certain distances, or if you at least have 50% meter to RC. A strong footsies tool is something you can use nearly all the time, 5A,5B,j.A,j.B, Nails I guess. "6C anti-air" = Come on man, you can't honestly say you would be throwing out 6C as an anti-air. You might land that 1/100 times and even then it probably wasn't on purpose, and good luck hitconfirming a proper combo off it when used in that way since you need a CH to land anything solid. 6C is used for max punishes for blocked DPs/Distortions and of course combo filler, I would never recommend trying to use it as an anti-air. "TK Double Palm strong footsies" = It is a gimmick at best. Just because Dora did it in ONE video to a Noel and it worked, doesn't make it something you should be using all the time. You can use it to catch your opponent off guard / throw them off / or trolling. It is not something you should be using a lot and again I would not say it is a "strong footsie tool". How often do you see other Japanese Bangs do it? Of all the things to give advice about, those are like most rare instances of landing a hit, and NOT something I would be giving advice about to someone new to be using. My advice was about practical and fundamental stuff that a new person would need to work on, and yet he gets mad, lol. Oh well though.
  5. Nothing I said was meant to be calling you a noob, I was just giving you advice since you asked for it. How am I supposed to know you were "just having fun" in a match? I took the match exactly for what it was and commented just on what I saw. I did the same thing as you and literally went on netplay after just playing through arcade mode when I first started playing CT. And I was just pressing buttons, that's not me learning anything, especially if it is getting bodied by people who are way better. So now after I've been playing for 2 years or whatever, my advice to people "trying to get better", would be to actually learn SOME basics before playing people. It's one thing to just play for fun and mess around, but once it comes down to seriously trying to get better and asking for help, you need to realize the difference. I could go on netplay and pick Ragna and press buttons, but I have NO IDEA how to use Ragna, so I wouldn't be learning anything if I just started playing. Netplay is there for match-ups, but if you don't know your own character then it isn't nearly the same learning experience. In no way was I trying to be mean or anything, sorry if you took it that way. It's supposed to be constructive criticism if people ask for help. I'm like the nicest person ever, lol. You just took my post the wrong way I guess. EDIT: And what I really meant by not going on netplay, was more or less to at least get some fundamentals of the character and combos down if you're trying to learn before playing people. Like what's the point of playing a match if you don't even know what to do if you land a hit? That's what I was referring to. Obviously the idea of what's fun is up to each person, but you should definitely think about when you're playing for fun and when it's time to actually learn and get better.
  6. I've mentioned it to a few other people when they just started playing so I'll say it to you as well, don't even bother going on netplay til you actually understand at least YOUR character and what you're doing with him. Every time you press a button or do anything, you should have and know the reason for doing it. Go back and watch that match yourself and look at the stuff you're doing and ask yourself "why did I do that?" and you'll see exactly what I mean. More specifically, -Your hitconfirming: A few times you did combos that went into 6C even though they were crouching. -One time you did 3C literally point blank, it hit, but that's not exactly the way you should be using 3C. -You were pressing D....A LOT, seemingly at random, and didn't really do any combos to follow up when you actually got a hit. -A few times it seemed like you were throwing nails just to throw them and at one point you had no nails left and the other guy had like 11 or something. Use the nails wisely, unlike other characters Bang has limited resources. Everything else is gonna be basic fundamentals and actual character strategy as in what you should be doing with pressure/mix-up/zoning / whatever. It's not like you're at the arcades and have to pay to play and learn the game through actual matches. Training mode is there for a reason, grind the hell out of it. You would basically be wasting your time on netplay if you're not actively learning and knowing what you're supposed to be doing. That's my advice. Eventually you'll grind it out, then play thousands of matches, and come back and body me like some other people I helped when they first started out.
  7. You gotta work on a lot in my honest opinion. It looked like you were just pressing buttons. Hit confirming, combos, nail management, blockstrings/mixup, spacing, etc. I would not even touch FRKZ or be trying to Astral someone when you still have a long ways to go.
  8. I just think you're in no place to say people are bandwagon'ing when you just started playing him last game. And going by what Yuki said, it sounds like he played Bang prior to CS2 or at least somewhat during CS2, so he's in the same place as you are which again makes no sense for you to say that to him. And yea there kinda were a bunch of people picking up Bang in CS2 for no apparent reason, much like yourself, because it made no sense to me then as well.
  9. Didn't you only start using him in CS2?
  10. LK, do you think characters that have "Mode" Distortions are meant to be played with that as a basis or goal of their match strategy? Obviously there are individual player styles and maybe match-ups that make them ineffective, but if we just look at the character's tools and gameplay mechanics by design, do you think that's how they were intended to be played or should be played? And regarding that, do you think they should make changes to put more emphasis on using the mode playstyles? I guess more so in the ones we don't see often ( Hakumen / Tsubaki ) since Bang, Ragna, and Taokaka actually put theirs to use from time to time. Or do you think it's better to just have them as an alternative playstyle and less like Arakune needing Curse mode?
  11. Or because it isn't Guilty Gear. My answer to the question, yes. I'm not even gonna comment on the thought process of the fighting game scene in general when it comes to playing specific games for whatever reasons.
  12. If you see this in time....try Ground Throw>Astral in the corner, I'd like to know if it works again. Thanks lol.
  13. You don't think he loses to Valkenhayn in CS2? I don't know man, the Valkenhayn match-up sure doesn't feel like it is even or in Bang's favor. His mobility lets him avoid nails potentially, he at least has some kind of reversal which factors into Bang's gameplay, he does more damage than Bang at least, has great mix-up, and wolf form can really fuck Bang's approach up not to mention bait out wake-up situations. At least to me, all signs point to it not being in Bang's favor, and since Valkenhayn is a much better character overall I don't see how it could be even either. But I'll just take your word for it since you play more than me, lol.
  14. You don't think he's gonna have a bad match-up with Valkenhayn?
  15. Well it was just the way you worded the post that you "made" those combos and "no one does them / or discovered them". Those combos are literally just the regular combos without 5C which you already see in other seal combos and a TK'd Fire Punch instead of a regular one which helps with recovery and other stuff, which allows the follow-up 6D if you're close enough to the corner. I more or less mean there wasn't much for you to make out of it or to discovery, when the fundamentals of those combos should be common knowledge, especially to anyone who has seen Nezu or Zanzan play since they are apart of other seal combos. And my point about doing a list off each hit is because of the fact that the whole point of your list I imagine is to get the most seals off any button press at a certain part of the screen so you can FRKZ asap. So if you're going to post seal combos off "move X" at mid-screen/near corner, what about the other moves? And what about in the corner? Wouldn't you and anyone else interested in going for FRKZ want/need to know the seal combos at each part of the screen and off each "legit" hit? That was what I was getting at. Not saying you HAVE to do that, especially with CSE coming out sooner rather than later, but if I was serious about learning and utilizing FRKZ I'd make sure I knew everything there was to know about seal combos (that I don't already.)
  16. Nice list. But most of them are just regular combos and due to the recovery of doing j.623B instead of 623B and being near the corner, you can follow up with another d.6D. I guess it seems more like stating an obvious possibility due to positioning and the nature of j.623B, but I'm sure not everyone knows what's possible so it's good to have in the thread. You could take the list a step further and provide the seal combos off each possible hit, since I'm sure the whole point of it is to get FRKZ asap and knowing the best seal combos off each hit would be good for those wanting to know. Remember that some allow you to follow up with d.6C>j.D>Web Nail>5C>6D or some variation of that in the corner, which will probably mean a 3 seal or 4 seal depending on which starter. And Hazama and Taokaka have character specific 3 seals or maybe even 4 seals ( I can't remember) off of regular hits as well. There's also another one that ends in a 5D that sets them up perfectly for a tech trap in the corner, pretty sure that was in some combo video as well. I could've provided help but I deleted my combo list for CS2 when I started working on the one for CSE.
  17. For what it's worth, I've been keeping a playlist on Youtube of all of the Japanese Bang CSE matches uploaded by jourdal / pktazn: http://www.youtube.com/user/zeth07#grid/user/2ED9F4ECD48FA10A Someone might find it useful instead of having to look through the General video thread and follow all the links to see which ones are Bang matches.
  18. Since I was currently playing the game when I saw this, I'll post up PSN's "info" at least. I'm not gonna do XBL now, but whenever I play on there again if I happen to remember this post I'll post the recent numbers. PSN - BBCS2 - Character Usage / "Popularity" # of Players Who've Played Online = ~135,720 # of Players Who've Played Ranked = ~109,116 # of Players Who've Played These Characters At Least Once In Ranked: Ragna = 50,000+ (reached the max # for the listing) Jin = 39,881 Hazama = 32,113 Noel = 30,248 Hakumen = 27,507 Tager = 27,457 Tsubaki = 23,376 Lambda = 23,194 Makoto = 18,982 Bang = 17,197 Litchi = 14,391 Taokaka = 14,166 Rachel = 13,012 Mu = 12,328 Valkenhayn = 11,614 Arakune = 10,894 Platinum = 8,006 Carl = 6,690 Poor Carl. That number will only get smaller in the next game when half the Carl players probably switch to Relius. The only "change" in the order is the fact that Platinum passed Carl, since last time Platinum wasn't out yet.
  19. LK, when you are learning/practicing combos, do you go really in-depth with the testing of the combos (like against each character and any minor adjustments) and do you try to learn EVERY "known" combo for each situation? Or do you just kinda know the BnBs off each hit / spot on the screen, and from there just wing hit for what you know will work (or think you know will work)? I'm curious because I've been keeping track of Bang's CSE combos, and from what was posted from the jbbs previously and what I've seen in videos so far, I'm at roughly a 6 "page" document. I'm the kind of person that likes to know the combos for each specific situation, or knowing the difference between damage/seals/oki. However, I haven't put the time into the game to be testing each and every combo, on each and every character, as much as I would like to. I did the same thing for CS1/CS2 but kinda ignored all my work and testing once I got most of what I needed to know down. So I guess my question is, how do you approach learning/practicing combos yourself?
