[CS1-CSE] Road to Ikaruga - The Bang Social thread - Do you even 3c?
zeth07 replied to DaiAndOh's topic in Bang Shishigami
Wasn't that in a video posted a long time ago? EDIT: Nevermind, it was combo into 2C then some j.A>j.4B>2B stuff to catch things. At least I remembered it was 2C into something that eventually goes to 2B. -
You can get more damage off that. Throw in a j.4C after the 2nd 6C. Which in turn not only makes it go slightly farther and more likely to wall bounce the j.623B but also higher which can make a d.5C possible instead of just d.6D. Also doing a 2nd j.4C on the ender instead of j.B will increase the damage as well but that may be needed for certain characters, I don't know. Ends up being 5,471 Damage. If you land something like a CH 6C, you might as well do the most damage possible. For reference a CH 6C in the corner can get 5,778 damage METERLESS. The opportunity will come in a match if you bait a DP or something, so I highly advise you make people pay dearly for it and take half their life in one combo.

For content, I think it would be a good idea to just copy the kind of content released by Cross Counter/CC Asia and LevelUpYourGame. LevelUpYourGame - Tekken - In-depth Law stuff = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV8tQRirIzM Cross Counter Asia - Match Analysis = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQo5YTybmJU Or even the "funny" content like "Excellent Adventures" or "Running Sets" that Cross Counter puts up. I don't even really play SF or Tekken, but I'll still sometimes watch those kinds of videos. The in-depth character videos would be aimed toward the hardcore players because they would go over EVERYTHING that's important to know, in detail. While at the same time it would also help new players for pretty much the same reason and give them some solid ground work besides Challenge Mode and just reading some threads for information. Match analysis videos would provide the insight towards actual tournament level matches (hopefully), so people can get an idea out what kind of reads players are making or what they are thinking at any given moment. The "funny" content let's the players show some of their personality as well as have fun with each other. That can appeal to the casual players because everyone knows people like to relate to "famous" players and feel like they are getting to know them on some remote level. It also can appeal to the hardcore players or just the people who already know those players because it's just funny to mess around sometimes. Like I said, I don't play SF really but I consistently watch Excellent Adventures just because it is usually funny as shit and Gootecks and Mike Ross are funny. Same thing with the Running Sets when they did Marvel with Fanatiq, I don't mess around with Marvel, but I still watched that and it was hilarious. The in-depth character stuff would definitely help out and that'd be the no frills content for the hardcore players. That stuff obviously works at bringing people in to play the game or AT LEAST watch and check the game out. It's just a matter of getting some respected players who ACTUALLY ENJOY playing the game and taking the time to put stuff like that together and on camera.

How the hell do you get that he looks stronger from before from that info? They took out literally EVERYTHING that remotely gave us reasonable combos. -
Already posted. Well at least 6C combos were already posted, they might not have had Daifunka enders but that's stating the obvious most of the time.
-
Your damage is off for 5A.

In regards to exposure, I've tried in the past to get iPlayWinner to start showing more BlazBlue related content since unlike SRK (which is mainly SF/MvC) iPlayWinner supposedly covers ALL fighting games. Originally I sent an email asking how they handled front page content, if anyone covered BB for the site, and questioned why BB didn't get much attention when other games would get front page entries for even the simplest video. Needless to say, I got no reply, and following that was around the time they did their first podcast and pretty much said "lolBB". Later I tried again by simply sending an email for their front page thing when one of Tetsu's Ragna Combo Videos came out and was on Jourdal's Youtube page. Surprisingly they actually put that on the front page. Unfortunately I don't think they've posted anything like that since and I personally haven't bothered to continue trying to send them BB related content. As for SRK, I don't personally go there, but I'm gonna assume they have the same mindset. --- In my personal opinion, Dustloop doesn't really seem like a "community". There might be some groups from local scenes that are all cool with each other, but as a whole DL just seems really divided and it's to be expected due to the circumstances of GG and BB. The other problem is that even some of the tournament players don't "seem" to care much about BB and even go as far as hating on it themselves. It doesn't exactly give off a good impression for the "community" or game if the competitive players are doing that, but it can't be helped. It also seems like some of the mods don't care enough to help out or don't take it serious enough to actually contribute content or discussions to keep things progressing. Or maybe they just don't have the time. As a casual player, this looks bad in my eyes when other members are willing to put effort into something while the players who are supposedly the competitive players aren't really doing much of anything. Also, I do think the front page of Dustloop needs some kind of re-evaluation or something, because I've heard of plenty people who don't have that as their bookmark/favorite and instead they just link directly to the forums. Before we worry about getting content on the front page of SRK where the majority there probably won't care, I think we should worry about the front page of Dustloop itself when the players who come here will be more likely to care about the content that gets posted. I do think Dustloop has most of the information that players need in regards to starting out and playing, I just don't think it provides it in a proper way to the masses or in a way that would get other players to want to play the game. I also think some areas are lacking in-depth discussions (like match-ups) that would apply towards the more "hardcore" players who actually want to take the game seriously. But I guess that's more up to the serious players themselves to step up and do something about. That's my two cents from a casual player's perspective.

Someone already mentioned that.

I find it funny people are discussing how to do a troll tactic more than legit strategies and match-ups. -

That was great and disappointing all at the same time since he sounded nothing like the way he does Bang in-game. Even that suggested video with him doing an "impression" of Bang sounded nothing like the way he did it in game, lol. I don't blame him though, still cool you got to see him, more so since I've always used English Bang (since I don't understand Japanese). -

It stands for "Tiger Knee", but basically you are jump cancelling it so it can be as low as possible for a move that is normally done in the air. -

The combo he did was crazy and I really doubt anyone else will do that combo in a real match. And that's almost a legit strat. against Noel cause she has so few primers, her normals don't have much range, and her D moves have a good bit of startup. Keyword being almost. Dora is in fact amazing. -
Re-linking my question so it doesn't get lost in the pages of discussion before I actually get LK's opinion on it: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11944-LK-s-GAMEPLAY-RELATED-QUESTIONS-ONLY-cs2&p=1074684&viewfull=1#post1074684

I can't remember if I asked you this before or if someone else did, so I'm gonna ask anyway: How do you feel about the Ground Tech system in BB? And what would you change about it if you thought it could be better? Do you think giving BB a tech system like GG or SF would make it a better game almost by default due to a more real oki situation? Like untechable knockdowns and a quick tech being the only options and not even being able to roll one way or the other or some other changes maybe to the roll system if you think rolling is ok in itself. Some characters have moves that allow them to pretty much make Roll Teching impossible and almost force you into a blocking situation on oki. While others seem to have to guess what the opponent is going to do defensively instead of the offensive player actually being at a real "advantage" after a knockdown. This really annoys me because it just doesn't seem right. I know some moves actually have "forced" neutral tech, but they can still choose to not tech at all. And the timing for when a combo "resets" off of a knockdown and them not teching just seems too long, when I can literally DASH toward them>2A and still have it Blue Beat the same combo even though I just dashed in half a screen away. In my personal opinion I think this hurts the game somewhat, and if there was anything I would change in BB it would be the ground tech system. What's your thoughts on this?

It's kinda weird seeing Dora with glasses (not that I see him all the time). I will forever see Dora like this: With Satoshi always as Taokaka, lol. -

Shout outs to 10stars for getting 17th with CT Bang. -
Then that's really weird. Carry on.
-
360 has the scaling options too, just an fyi. So I'm not really sure what people are talking about.
-
My point was more that there isn't exactly some unique and crazy gameplan that his Bang can do differently from every other Bang in the world. CS2 Bang just doesn't allow for that kinda stuff. So any "gimmicks" that dacid or huey were doing, probably were nothing new in terms of Bang, but more in terms of just some American tendencies that he wasn't used to. But like I said, I didn't specifically see any of these different gimmicks that other Bangs apparently don't do (including Japan) since it all looked the same to me, so without him giving specific examples I'm gonna go with what I said. Satoshi not being used to "American Play" more than Dacid/Huey's apparent specific Bang "gimmicks".
-
gtfoutta here with that non-sense. Do you seriously think he didn't know the Bang match-up? And do you seriously think you or huey do things that the Japanese players don't that's actually a useful strategy? Everyone pretty much copies what the Japanese players do, and from what I saw since I watched most of it, I didn't see either of you do anything that I haven't seen before or that was somehow your own stuff/new technology. I just think he wasn't used to how American players "played", if you know what I mean. When you're talking about you and huey using "certain traps and gimmicks that others don't" and "using bumpers more than most", if you're talking about compared to Japan, you're kidding yourself. And if you're talking about in America, you need to realize that CA isn't the only place in the world, it just so happens that you have a good scene that gets noticed. I'm definitely not questioning your skill level or whatever, I just think you're being naive about things.

Combos are being posted multiple times at this point. I guess cause the 1st post isn't getting updated really, with DaiAndOh being busy doing whatever he's doing, lol. This does more damage if you're going to do that kinda combo: (Corner) (Standing) – 5B>2B>6C>j.623B>dash under>5C>6D>623B>5B>2B>j.B>j.4C>dj.4C>dj.C = [4,274] + 1 Seal
-
I personally have no idea what that's supposed to mean, but it's definitely C bumper because C bumper is placed directly above Bang. A bumper goes in front of Bang which would probably not even appear on screen or at least would be completely in the corner.
-
And it is 6C not j.4C after the 5Bs just to clarify.
-
Just to note, you don't land before setting the bumper, he does it in mid-air. It's obviously way too high for a regular C bumper placement. EDIT: The timing for the bumper is incredibly specific because it has to be just right for it to work correctly. There's really no leeway with it at all due to the height requirement for the parts of the combo with the bumper dashes.
