I don't know about Tekken 6. First, I think there's very little cross-over between the two communities. I don't ever see BB players at the Vid94/Super arcade Tekken ranbats, and I don't ever see Tekken players at AI playing BB. Second, Tekken players don't usually go to tournies unless they are majors or a long established ranbat (like the fore-mentioned Super/Vid94 series). I remember one of the best Steve players in socal (Tim from FFA) tried to revive Tekken ranbats at FFA after console came out...first tourney had like 10 ppl, second tourney had none lol. And this was with no venue fee.

The locations of CS boards in the state of Cali are 2 at AI 1 at Mike Z's home 1 at SVGL (Norcal) 1 at Milpitas Golfland (Norcal) 1 at Goryu's home (I think)? Denjin and FFA are supposedly contemplating about getting it...

God damnit now you got my hopes up.

While CT was not a horrible game, it will nevertheless be a very UNHYPE game if it was at this year's Evo. No one on srk gives a shit about it, no one on tekkenzaibatsu gives a shit about it, and sadly enough barely anyone on dustloop gives a shit about it anymore. That is basically all the playerbase that's going to Evo. It's been said again and again, people who enter games like GG/BB don't usually enter Capcom games in mass droves. There's very little cross-over between the two communities. If you also had a game like GG in the official line-up, maybe more people will pay the 10 dollars to enter BB because "hey, already paid the 50 dolla registration fee for GG...might as well get the most out of it and enter CT for shits and giggles..." Right now, you only have CT to entice the dustloop crowd into paying a 50 dollar registration fee...and that game is simply not very enticing at this very moment. Very few people here will do it, and best case scenario you'll have a tournament chock-full of SFIV players mashing D with Nu or some shit...this spot should definitely be given to the second placer of the Evo poll.

Sounds good, definitely interested in CS over SFIV...

Awww that's no fun...and quite expensive too. If no one you know has a passion for fighting games, look around the dustloop regional forums. You might find people making plans to share hotels and whatnot. Though I'm still relatively new in the DL community, I find that a lot of them are very nice and quite open to meeting new faces. Though I've only been to Evo once (2k9) I imagine that going there alone would be quite boring. A lot of the time you'll be standing around (for aaaagggeeeess) waiting for your match to start. You should really go in a group, makes the trip a lot more fun, having buddies cheering for you and you cheering for your buddies and whatnot.

I noticed you're from Illinois. You might as well book a cheap flight, it'll only be a little more expensive than driving there...and you don't run the risk of having your car break down from having a heart attack.

So now that midterms are over I can finally start editing this ghetto ass guide again. Mizzet- don't ask don't tell. But yea, I can confirm that the combo works. If they are crouching do 236D instead of 214A at the end. Regarding questions I see about the haida loop, while it DOES work on all characters, some cases are very distance specific, and require different timings on the initial 66C. Here's my analysis on how easy it is to get each character into the loop. Distance not important, very easy to get into: Tager, Bang, Hakumen Distance semi-important, you have to hit them with 66C at the very "tip" Rachel, Jin, Nu, Ragna Distance VERY important, IMHO too hard to land to be feasible from mid-screen Tao, Carl, Arakune (lol), Hazama, Tsubaki, Noel Regarding Hazama, he has some weird properties on his hitbox. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one whiffing 214A, 2B, 6C, J. D =/ God damn I hate the fact that her air throw range was nerfed. Makes the Hakumen match-up so much more harder....

I think Hellmonkey made a good point: GG is better off NOT on the offical list. Seriously, what does being an official Evo game get you? Your name is posted on srk.com if you get top 8? Who gives a shit, just run a side tourney, everyone throws 10 dollas into the pot. GG players don't have to be detered by that 50 dollar registration fee anymore. Hell, if dustloop brown-noses enough GG might even be back on the big screen for a finals exhibition. It happened for T6, BB, and I think even Brawl (ehhhhhhh) last year.

Super Ladies Fighter IV BlueLadies: CT TvC HDR Super Ladies Fighter IV Ladies only Tekken 6 7th game is player's choice (most likely gonna be a neck and neck race between MBAA and MvC2) oh Ken you too beast

The two Hawaii girls that were playing Marvel are perfect examples why there's no need for silly side-events such as this. I saw them play. They were pretty DAMN good Marvel players (a game that requires tremendous skill at its upper levels), and were more than holding their own against the boys. But anyway, the whole ladies tournament is probably gonna have little effect on Evo regardless, so whatever... Wizard said that his inside sources basically told him CS would not be out in time. Wizard's inside sources are rarely wrong...so I don't get where people are getting the optimism that CS is gonna magically be there. I dunno, just being a bit pessimistic I guess....even if Arksys somehow manages to provide us with cabs it's gonna take at least 3-4 of them in order to run any sort of efficient tourney. Hell, last year there were 10 set-ups and it still took forever for people to run their matches. I'm just gonna keep my hopes low and assume CT is gonna be there.
-
I think they have lost their minds with this LADIES only shit. Kicking out OG games such as MvC2 and Guilty Gear just so they can have an extra slot for this shit is laughable. Lets not mention the fact that this whole thing is quite insulting for LADIES in general.

Woot Evo 2k8 Tekken 5:DR all over again. Just to remind everyone, no one went to that either.
-
lol by looking at the the views that clip got, I can tell 500 people in the world have been brutally ravaged and raped.
-
Yea, I still don't really get how you land the 66c after the 623D on small and medium size characters. I see Japanese people do it all the time, but when I try I whiff completely. I can only do it when I RC =(
-
I DON'T LIKE BLAZE BLUEZ CONTIUUM SHIFT BECAUSE IT MAKES ME ACTUALLY THINK WHEN I PLAY >=( But really, ggs all. The way socal has embraced this lil gem is truly amazing. I gotta level up faster!!!!! Good shit to copperdabbit coming all the way from that far away norcal to attend this.
-
God used Hydro Pump! Critical hit! It's super effective! SoCal has fainted! Seriously, this weather is getting ricockulous. Hopefully it doesn't put a damper at AI on Sunday =(
-
Japanese Ken do you want to carpool there? I'll drive and you can teach me some sekret sauce strategies in return lol. Actually I'm serious, wouldn't mind some final pointers while on the way there before entering my first real BB tourney.

*ahem* just wanted to point out that AI is mostly empty during weekdays such as today. Just got back from there, there were only 4-5 people playing from 3pm to 7pm, I got like...at least 50 good matches for only a five dollar investment. Also spent some quality time tinkering with practice mode on the empty machine in the back (something that I'm sure you can not do with 10 people waiting for their turn to play). If you really want to to level up, just bite the bullet and make the drive to AI...eat one less Happy Meal for the week and bingo, there's your gas money. You might even find the quicker rotation here better (I personally find a long string of 1v1 games help me better than sitting in line for 20 minutes after each loss). Plus, sometimes you see some really hot girls play DDR, I'm sure you don't get that at Mike Z's. And really, Mike's Z's place is not THAT far from AI. TL;DR version: Come to AI god damnit, the machines are gathering dust here. Hope to see a good turnout for the Sunday tourney :D

Speaking of landing drive mixups...and Noel pressure in general, I really hate the fact that opponents can just hold up back and barrier block to escape all of Noel's shit. Almost every other character has something to catch people trying to jump out of pressure, but Noel has shit. The only viable option is probably 6A, but we all know how much shit she eats if she whiffs it. So question, what are you guys doing to catch jumpers?
-
Testing this out first thing I hit AI tmmr. If this is true then Noel's abare just got a big upgrade...

I have a sinking feeling Blazblue won't be here =(

Spirit Juice vs Tronzilla Blazblue CS money match for ladies aka my mom. SPIRIT JUICE I HOPE YOU WIN!!!

Oh yea Gorehound ggs yesterday. Stop tormenting yourself with Rachel man she's a lost cause hahaha.

So event mode=all games are free right? Excuse me for my ignorance, but I don't often go to arcade tournies. I remember last time I went to an arcade tourney at James Games they put it on some special mode and every game you had to pay a quarter, win or lose lol. As much as I love the CS machine, 3 dollars venue and 50 cents each game is too much haha.
