Good stuff. I'll admit to having an abnormal hatred for this matchup that is probably discoloring my opinions.
-
You would know better than me but... IB SoD and you should be able to dash in and do whatever, provided it isn't charged. I will have to play with it more, I never used it basically at all in this matchup.
-
@COR: My tao experience is limited, so I'll defer to others. But I never felt that we had anything on her. As for Haku, against a haku that knows the matchup, lasers are woefully ineffective, and his pokes beat ours. Your also correct, Mu has alot of tools, so she usually has some kind of option. @Luna: Right we have moves to beat drives, but those aren't moves that the Mu player wants to be throwing out there (pressure or otherwise) either. 3C isn't great, but it will bail Noel out of alot of stuff. I'm not afraid of Noel stuff any more than makoto stuff. The issue is that, unlike other characters, you have tools to guess your way around stuff, and you damage output makes up for alot. Though, after giving it more consideration, your right, it probably belongs in the "good for Mu camp"; I really dislike messy matchups, and tend to think and perform very poorly in and of them. We can play again if you want, but I'll probably be pretty sad. You can blame marvel for that...
-
I can see why you'd see it that way, what you say is true. On the flip side, Noel is fast, has options to guess around the steins/setups (3C for example), and her drives wreck our pressure and pokes. Really, it's just a very, very, messy matchup, one I don't think either character likes much. Edit: it actually reminds me of the makoto matchup, except Noel isn't as good...

I was just being ignorant. Don't take it too seriously, I know all the non-bang non-Ragna characters take some work . I just don't think the comparison between Lambda and Mu's zoning is very good. They are very different. I was on the fence about those two also. I have trouble putting arakune in Lolz because, well, he can still "Arakune" you, and steins aren't quite as good a swords against him. As for Rachel, yeah, her corner pressure's okay, but it's super hard for her to get in on Mu, and even then you have a DP and CA. Thanks to her shitty damage, you can roll the dice all day.
-
Mu is definately solid, though she isn't particularily strong. Also, how and where you put your steins needs to be carefully planned, where-as D-swords are point and shoot. As for matchups: Disaster - Hazama, Bang, Tao Bad - Litchi, Hakumen, Makoto Even - Noel, Ragna, Jin, Lambda Good - Tsubaki, Arakune, Valk Lolz- Tager, Carl, Rachel
-
You don't brain with lambda? wtf are you talking about? D-button =/= Brain.
-
Funny thing is that I didn't like Mu at first. I came back to her after about a month. I'm usually like that though, when I first started BB I was using Noel and Jin. Anybody who has seen me play either of those characters can comment on how bad I actually am with them. This is the only game where I can't play most of the characters.
-
Heck yes, Mu is much more fun. There so much more going on in my mind and in the game when I'm playing Mu as opposed to the rest of the "mash out a combo" cast. I already play rag's and will definitely be checking out the loli, even if I wind up hating her.
-
I am one of the few players who wasn't using Mu as a stand in. I like her and will continue maining her.
-
Well, at least the challenge mode stuff is more practical this time. Sad they don't really go over the corner loop though. But heck, challenge mode is always kinda silly anyways.

I think 5D over-all was a nerf. I also used it alot as an anti-air move. Keep people from jumping half screen. Though I'll just learn to abuse it's new properties.
-
Right, that is also true. And now that I think of it, his 5D isn't as good anymore. Still, I hold that he now has options in the spots where he used to have none, even though those options suck.
-
The only place I can think of where he lost an option is after 6A, though we got a new option there. THough, the armor isn't exactly great.

LK's GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY question thread
FlyingVe replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
Compare the attack level to the start up of the move being gattling'd into. Then factor in IB, if there's a 5 frame gap, Mak's 5A will fit. I think it's that simple, barring other factors. -
The main reason I think Tager is better is that he has some options, even if they be shitty ones, in situations where he previously had none. He's still the worst character in the game, but I think he's usable now.
-
I actually think Tager's viable this time around. The worst character in the game maybe, but still, much better off than the previous two games.
-
Mag pull got a bit stonger overall right? That cold make 4D as en ender significantly better.
-
Okay, I did some frame math, or tried to at least, and it looks like 6A>4D is air tight, even on IB (CS2 IB at least). Assuming 6A is a lvl 3 attack which means it inflicts 16 frames of guardstun, and 4D is a 13 frame move. This means it should be gapless on normal block. Now that IB has been nerfed to only reducing stun by 2 frames, it is also safe on IB. Since, 4D has an SD of 0 or greater, you are good afterwards too.
-
You sound newer, so. The combo blue beats when you get a purple throw or land a move when the other person could have teched. The reason these don't count as combos is because they are escapable. In you case, purple throws are not only escapable, but easily breakable.
-
That isn't a combo.
-
Huh? Wha? Why? What did I say?
-
Her corner oki is solid, though it's harder to do arginor's lockdown than before. I'm just saying don't focus to much on oki tricks. Also, fuck Dahlsim.
-
Remember CS2 mu is really more about spacing than oki. Think of her like you would play sim in sf.
-
I usually use the sky blue (like apparently everybody else), or the default, they both look nice. Seriously though, I think Mu could use a better stage and theme. The theme is okay, but it isn't great, and her stage is just boring.
