  1. Score one for me. Also, good combo vid guys.
  2. ...yep, pretty much...
  3. I try to intimidate the other player. That's really my style with all my characters.
  4. Yes, but if your all gimmicks, your going to lose. Like I said, you have to use the tricks on top of the fundamentals.
  5. Nah, it's good to have a gimmick thread. Gimmicks are useful, and noobs will be noobs. Experience should hopefully teach them otherwise, but the ranked match format doesn't lend itself well to that.
  6. Players should learn to play the character solid and then add the spice on top of that foundation. There are way to many Tager players who are all tricks and just fall apart because they have nothing left to fall back on. Being random/gimmicky only works occasionally. One should endeavor to use a strat that is consistently scary.
  7. It'd be nice if newbies didn't go straight for the gimmick section of the character page...
  8. It works on her, but it's finicky. 6B juggles and habacan combos get really finicky on much of the cast, but they do still work. Personally, because of the number of variables involved, when I'm fighting those characters I usually opt for a different combo.
  9. Moving backwards is a sign of weakness.
  10. If your newer, I don't recommend thinking too much about the frame data. As you get you stuff more solid, then you ca use it to help you explain/ figure out some situations. Even then, alot of very good players don't use frame or hitbox data. Personally, I love numbers. It makes more sense to me when you quantify a situation.
  11. The frame data is 99% accurate. Also, you don't test the moves by eyeballing them. You basically test what you know against what you don't know. For example, if a move can't be punished by a 6 frame move, but can by a 5 framer. It's -5. It's basically like one of those high school "critical thinking" problems. Also, there are mooks.
  12. Okay, it works if you commanderoftroy... But 2B is still really good if the opponent is cornered. It covers all the non-reversal options, has easy hit-confirms for good damage, and is +5 on block.
  13. 2B is a very good Oki move, but only when the opponent is cornered, then they will back roll. Also, volt charges guard point starts on the 6th frame, it doesn't work as a makeshift reversal.
  14. I assume your talking about the japanese vids. I've seen some of that, and I've also seen the good ol fashion shutout. My best theory is still how new Mu is coupled with how advanced the character is. Remember when Mu was new, a bunch of people thought Tager beat her, then, that it was only slightly bad, and eventually, that it was an abomination of a matchup. As a Mu player, I can say that you must play the Tager matchup very differently, maybe their still working on that. The other option, is that there is something I'm missing. Obviously, I haven't played the game yet, but when I watch those vids I wonder why they don't just whore Tager out like I know you can in CS1.
  15. Everything that gave Tager trouble is better. The only thing she lost was midscreen damage and easy oki. One is par for the corse in CS2 and the other she didn't really need in the first place. Also, her corner pressure is now CT Rachel levels of BS. Of course I get to play both sides of that Matchup... + Also, this is why they need to make Tager better up close at least. So many characters can just run the fuck away for the whole fucking match. @AXIS: the hardest part of the Mu vs Tager matchup is not falling asleep. This is not a joke, it's actually hard to stay awake in that snoozefest.
  16. All that truth and not one comment about Mu. Have you seen her buffs? That match will be 8-2 if Tager is lucky, and I'm not even exaggerating. Email this to Mori. Give him some perspective.
  17. His mixup is terrible, especially for a grappler. Play a game with a good grappler, and being near them is almost game endingly terrifying. Tager often times is still at a disadvantage even when he gets up close. He has some of the worst defensive options in the game, couple with being huge. Votiac charge has lots of startup, his backdash is punishable on reaction most times, and a strat based around waiting for the opponent to screw up is not really a strat at all. Better players endeavor not to leave such openings, and often do not. His Counter Assault is ass. It's slow, and doesn't set-up jack for his offense. Also, it misses on airborne dudes alot. IB nerf hurts Tager more than it helps him as now he has an even harder time getting out of pressure. However, his bad match-ups are (mostly) a bit better than before, so he might be kinda viable this time around. Also, not many japanese play him, and many that did have switched.
  18. To put it more simply, Tager's only good/decent matchups in CS1 were against decrepit characters. Considering they've fixed them, and Tager hasn't gotten anything that good in return, he's gonna suck. That said, some of the damage control done to the god tiers might make him more useable over-all, if still the worst character.
  19. Valk can also do a glide-throw esque jump, though I don't know the inputs for it.
  20. Makoto and Valks are also solid reversals so you can mash them with some success.
  21. But alot of times I release SoD early when I'm playing chicken. It's useful to know I'm still at an advantage.
  22. So lvl2 has frame advantage too? THat's juicy, I always assumed it was slight disadvantage.
  23. Lvl 3 SoD is not +10 on block I assure you. Go into training mode and have both characters hold up after blocking SoD Mu will jump first by only a slight margin, it's only about +2.
  24. Depends on range and how the spark hits. You can usually burst spark in such a way that Tager can't do much about it.
  25. No kidding, some of those reads were godlike. Most good players will burst when spark hits, and there aint much you can do about that.
