  1. apparently his april was wide open and he's trying to think of what to schedule, but he doesn't want to do ranbats that month because SSF4 doesn't come out until the end of april. I was trying to convince him to run GG/Tekken/BB ranbats anyway, since they don't have anything to do with sf4. Still don't know what happened with that c.S whiff against Paul at :56. Edit: I mean, I think I do know, just was too close and the hitboxes didn't match up, but what are the odds?
  2. Welcome back Sean. Eric, Mac, and others, are you guys up for changing the ranbat format to pools, then brackets rather than just straight brackets?
  3. ! How many matches did you get? when is viddy yoes going up?
  4. Hope you weren't referring to me, since I totally said I wouldn't be there Thursday, but would saturday.
  5. Yay Cleveland! http://realestate.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=23468980 An alarming number of the cities on here are in the midwest. Also, 2 in Ohio, 2 in Michigan. Fix your economy, Eric. Lazy bum.
  6. So a friend of mine wanted to hang out Thursday, so I won't be at AL then. I'll be there Saturday for sure, but may leave early to watch a friend of mine rassle. Testament, you should tell people where your show is if you want people to go.
  7. Who is coming? KY? Cbus? Mac? I think Hoog said he's coming, so him and circuitous make up Indy, right? Hopefully the weather is cool by friday night/saturday.
  8. Well, it may be a little ambitious, but if you get enough help, I think it's a good idea. Let me see what you have for Testament and I will try to help. I don't consider myself an absolute authority, but I can submit my stuff for review and see what comes out. I play (or have played) a lot of really good players, and I think I can come up with some useful info. Feri, I don't see the harm in people giving input on the matchups that they know. Maybe we won't be able to cover everyone, but with input from multiple players of the same character that live in different areas, we could potentially get a lot of matchups covered.
  9. I haven't played Melty Blood: Alcoholics Anonymous, but I've played AC a little. Anyway, it's not hard to combo into launcher and then jb, jc, double jump, jb, jc, throw/special/super, so I can at least pretend to play. Also, maybe this will bring more Columbus out.
  10. I wanted to wait until next week to bump this, but it went on to page 2 and I felt bad. Anyway, let's start the hype train a little earlier than one week out. Last time was fun. This time should be more so.
  11. I'll be sure to take up smoking. Tunes do for sure help though. Energy drinks I dunno, still leave me tired and less-than-alert, just keep me from falling asleep.
  12. here ya go, Mac.
  13. Now if we could only get some kentuckleheads involved... Also, in case there was any confusion due to the timing of my asking, ranbat is on 20th, so not this coming Saturday, but the following.
  14. Heya, guys. Before we get to page 2, thought I'd ask if everyone's planning on coming out again for ranbat like last time. It was a fun day.
  15. So drive faster. Sleepy wrecks are bad though. Usually driving keeps me awake, but I had to fight it pretty hard coming back from SB a couple years ago.
  16. thread of the year?
  17. Special thanks to Kyle for visiting. Jack G, I beat Mac after you left. Just goes to show how effective your trolling is. Jason, you're a bad, bad man. Mac, Slayer. Thias, Potemkin is better than Tager. Play our old game with us. I've heard at least 2 other people saying that they'd start playing GG, but it's too dead, or it's too late to catch up with the old players. Well, if all of the people that would pick it up if it wasn't dead would pick it up, it wouldn't be dead. Also, pretty much everyone I play with hasn't been playing for as long as me, and has gotten way better than me, so just letting people out there know that neither of those are valid excuses. More people need to play Caveman Games. More people need to play Super Dodgeball.
  18. Wait, he's coming, but he needs a ride? How is he coming if he doesn't already have a ride?
  19. Jack G, Mac H, and Jason S, any of you interested in AL again this Thor's day? Again basing my decision to go on Guilty play. Ben, my apologies for this past weekend. My brother wanted to hang out, and we were at Arcade Legends, and I knew Nick wouldn't be up for that. Hopefully you can make the next ranbat maybe?
  20. Is MotW too new or too good to be in this tournament?
  21. When you're doing combos, do you have the input display on? This should help you to locate your problem and show you just where you're messing up and how. Also, it can help to break it down into smaller parts. Go as far as you can in the combo, and then stop yourself and think of what is supposed to come next, then keep doing that until you can think of the next input fast enough to actually do it. Watching match videos can help you a lot with your matchups if you know what to look for. Keep at it. This may take a long time. It takes longer for some people than it does for others, but it's not impossible to anyone. My guess is that once you learn how to do a couple combos, you'll learn the concept of combos in general, which will in turn make it easier to do subsequent combos.
  22. I actually think you did well on the time part. It's within a week anyway. Sure it's possible to do better, but It's not unreasonable by any standard. More matches would be awesome though. Also, I think you said the sound won't be a problem next time, which I think is the main concern this time around. But srsly thanks a lot, Eric.
  23. May help to call Paul or somebody. Maybe Jacob. I don't think Columbus is too active on here anymore. You could also check essarkay. Also, what is the text in your AV?
  24. Turn input display on so you can see where you screwed up, and where your frc points are (if you don't know them). Make it so the dummy techs backwards. Neutral tech is slower than forward or backward, and if you have them tech forward, they'll switch sides on you, which can get annoying if you're trying to practice something. Set tension to infinite if you want, just keep in mind how much tension you're using per combo. If there's a certain block string you want to figure out how to get out of, you can record the dummy to do it (assuming you can input it yourself) and play it back against yourself as many times as necessary.
