  1. Wuss. Just cause Haku's low tier doesn't mean it's impossible.
  2. I'm finding 2D and the bell bug especially annoying when spammed, any workarounds?
  3. As I said Ki is a breathing technique, magic is like applied math/music notation with quantum physics...both are possible, just that magic can greatly affect Ki, such as a support spell like Haste or Quicken. I still have to finish KoK's ending for Millia, please be patient.
  4. The Japanese ancestry seems to have a different element in this case. Since many are capable of awakening latent powers, similar I believe to the whole Kusanagi/Orochi blood feud in KOF, "Riot of the Blood". Kind of like a combat high or adrenaline rush. Baiken in particular managed to awaken after killing I-no in AC+ though it's more going berserk than anything. Also it is said the OutRage 'Zessen' which Anji uses can only be activated by Japanese blood. I don't know if Anji himself can use Ki, but it's unconfirmed if Needle Type 2 his energy orb is Ki or not. He may be compensating. May hasn't used any evidence of Ki as of yet, only shockwaves of raw power at best. If anything the Ki reserves she has are what gives her massive strength.
  5. Big article in Qi/Ki/Chi here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qi Basic idea is that it's a breathing method (Breath of Asanagi) that extends to outer release points on the body. In the manga Veritas, it says that anyone is capable of refining/filtering their energies, but it's more powerful when you practice the methods at an earlier age. My guess is that Chipp, Kliff, Baiken, and Jam started their training early on (Chipp was a late bloomer), hence the raw power they can generate. As said the more energy is purified the stronger it gets, so you have some idea how dangerous a toll it can potentially have, too much Ki can rupture the pathways on the body. So there is balance needed. The GG world treats Ki like a genetic trait, but that's merely outsider observation. More than anything its cultural traditions put into practice and passed down generations.
  6. I'm interested in the Dizzy/Eddie relationship. Does Dizzy have a history of fighting Kinjuu? Kinjuu are considered Anti-Gear weapons, yet they are Gear-Derived Technology. Also all we know thus far about 'OutRage' is that they are magic amplification devices, not all of which are considered weapons by nature, that and the word 'OutRage' appears on Gear Plant containment tanks, so there is a possible link to Dizzy in that.
  7. I don't suppose you could mark the combos designated for building stars rather than damage?
  8. As much speculation and theory is put on the table, I can only sever it at Overture. That Man says he and Sol 'already killed' Aria. The similarity between Valentine and Aria is mentioned but nothing is put in absolute terms, same goes for her mood swings at the end, also Valentine's mother might be something else entirely. The relationship to Justice is purely out of boss appearance and hair color, that's all. Perhaps all command types look as such, seeing as they are a series. Dizzy mistakes the Justice copy for her mother, but we don't know if that's programmed recognition or not, similar to how she IDs Eddie. Crow mumbles about her being a copy as well, but that could just be his personal jargon for how gears reproduce. As of now, NOTHING IS CONFIRMED! *stamp thump*
  9. So I'm guessing stuff like C Delay Hishouken into any of his D Freezes. As for the '1 Freeze per combo' rule...aren't Throws and 623D exceptions to that?
  10. Can someone explain to me what the situations when Freezing actually "works" in a combo instead of resulting in Black Heat combo? Counterhit is one, but what about the rest?
  11. Thanks but, harsh, man.
  12. Rumor has it the U.S. version will have adjusted modes for faster playthroughs and revised move combinations. Squall, for example, gets a new aerial spell combo, since his air moves lacked range. This game has Dodge-cancelling and a form of cancelling for when you grind on stuff or run on walls.
  13. Nobody explained the 623A>2C timing yet. Like I said, he did it midscreen after a 236A wall bounce, using the 623A dash to get closer.
  14. I'm having a hard time predicting highs and lows in this matchup...and nothing seems to beat 6A or overhead j2C for me. I've had a few successful counters, but that's it...usually I'm forced to defensive or turtling.
  15. Also a question relating to his counters...does the spacing change if he counters them by sending them towards the corner? Not saying his counters are throws but they act like throws.
  16. I was watching a replay of the #1 Haku player on the PS3 board... He did a midscreen sweep to gurren, then did the enma dash (623A single star) then did 2C>jc>j2C>airdash>j2C>jC I don't know how he got 2C out fast enough for a followup to enma-dash.
  17. Something I learned from my last matchup w/Shinsua Bell bug can be destroyed by Haku's j2C, so be careful throwing that out, also this is a good match to bait and do the fake-out teleports as Haku is slow on anticipating feints since he's used to dealing with real attacks. Arakune's air drop moves give Haku surprising crossup pressure, but don't use it without expecting 2C to come out eventually.
  18. I've been dealing with DP spamming Litchi into her 63214D nonsense. Does Carnage Scissors beat her pole DP? Mine didn't, but can anything beat it?
  19. Hey guys, whats the trick behind 623A>2C after 236A wallbounce?
  20. LOL I won't buy beer!

  21. I'm still having trouble with Counter followups, mostly because I either don't have enough stars to do what I usually do, or know of anything that works best given the situation and counter. If someone could list some counter followups and organize them by star (Magatama) count and spacing, I'd appreciate it.
  22. I miss playing Sol....he's so much easier to rev up than Ragna....sigh...
  23. That explains why it's so easy for people to tech out of 22C, thanks.
  24. I'm not that old! I'm 26, my sisters are in their 30s and 40s.
