  1. The term for the servants summoned by Valentine and the ones used by Sol is called "Soul Sinker" basically a set of Backyard parameters implemented to create a reflection of that person's Soul. The Masterghost is similar to a Persona if you will...it is a key representative base that summons further "shards" of that person's personality. As long as the Master Ghost is in physical space and maintains its "stamina" even if the "Master" who is the key representative of the Master Ghost will not die if given a fatal blow. However, should the Master Ghost get destroyed, the Master will be killed. As a precaution, by default the Master Ghost maintains a powerful barrier that can only be broken by enemy Servants and only slightly damaged by an enemy Master. In this case, we see machinery similar to a zippo lighter (Fireseal hint) and a human being trapped between two spinning cog gears made of molten fire, which is Sol's representative self. The "Servants" act like magic Familiars otherwise known as Mobile Minions. Sol even has the ability to summon his own personal unit, Hunchback, even while away from his Master Ghost, which is where all Servants will normally originate. When a Servant captures a regular Ghost, the Master's Soul imbues the Ghost base with power to heal units as well as the Master.
  2. I'm sorry, I should've clarified, I meant Far 5S.
  3. The backstories for Izuna's crew are more explicitly based on folklore. I made a list of their origins a while ago. --Kappa: Frog/Turtle-like water Sprite/Deity in Japanese Folklore. --Nekomata: Literally translated as "Forked Cat", it is a Bakeneko Cat-monster with Two tails that stands on its hind legs. Supposedly haunts any household it is kept in, throws fireballs, or turns itself into a human shape. --Namahage: A fierce demon said to visit homes searching for naughty children and to scare them, also a symbol for cleansing of the soul. --Ittan-momen: A Ghost phenomenon said to attack humans in the Folklore of Kagoshima Prefecture. --Tengu: Literally translated "Heavenly Dogs" they are a class of supernatural monster known for being harbingers of war, but also forest guardian spirits. --Deidaara: Unknown/Possibly linked to a being called Daidarabotchi a giant responsible for several Geological Locations in Japan according to Folklore. --Oyuki: Possibly a derivative of a yuki-onna [snow Woman] associated with a spirit who rescues people from snow storms, but also named after a character in the Manga "Urusei Yatsura". --Daruma: Otherwise known as a Dharma doll is a red wishing Doll modeled after the Bodhidharma, the founder and first patriarch of Zen. --Kirin: Originally called "Qilin" in Chinese, it is a mythical beast associated with the arrival of a Sage that brings good omens or prosperity, depicted with Fire around its body. As for the Gears and Valentine's "Sweet Servants" backstories, no clue.
  4. Faust has neither been confirmed or denied to be Dr. Baldhead officially, but the hint lies in Venom's comment about the Dark Doctor. Regardless, nothing official has been said.
  5. I wish you luck finding it. You're not the only one who wants a Valentine Hug Pillow around here...or I-no, or Dizzy, or Millia, or Baiken for that matter.... *glares at Aksysgames and wants goodies*
  6. Sigh...that again eh? Where'd you originally find it? It's that Valentine Pillow isn't it? Not exactly work-safe, but you might get lucky if you enquire here: http://www.jlist.com/SEARCH/hug_pillow/1/ The term they use is "Hugging Pillow Case" Wouldn't hurt to ask here either: http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/default.php Also, I should warn you, if it's one of those limited edition youknowwhats promotion thingies Japan is famous for, you're up the creek.
  7. Seriously? TK CL FRC Airdash is considered Cheap???? This is news to me.
  8. Bonescythe FTW. That, sir, is OLDSKOOL Testament!
  9. So what is 5S good for anyway? I keep screwing up the timing for using 5K or Chemical Love after it.
  10. By some stretch of miracle I'm getting used to doing this on Pad. Thing is though, it seems much harder to do from a gatling or guard string. It seems easy to block. Any practical setups or situations its good for and/or combo variations to mix it up some?
  11. @Suzaku: That reminds me...someone should make a list of everyone's birthdays for GG (stacked with Blazblue's Birthdays why not?). Also interesting: I-no's Birthday is listed as Unknown in XX...but in AC+ it's revealed as November 25th.
  12. Grrr...why has nobody talked about Raven at all? How does he play? How are his combos? Is he better than Paradigm? Worse? I'm dying to know.
  13. It wasn't my intention to toot my own horn if it sounded like it, my apologies, especially considering the helps of so many others in this thread to put stuff together...I'm just concerned about keeping the info we've found over the long haul (I've had stuff get completely deleted in the past due to forum hacking years ago, so I get worried sometimes). As for prunings, I wasn't aware you guys had a decent archive to begin with. I'm quite surprised, actually, and thankful. Maybe it's because of the way Tragic described how he pruned things that I got that bad impression. Anyways, at this point I don't see a problem with breaking Fanfiction away in its own thread and putting GG Story resources in its own thread as well. Though I think it's worth mentioning that the line between Fanfic and StoryFact blurs sometimes, so discussion probably won't change much in either thread, just saying.
  14. Since we're on the discussion, I honestly think there should be someone backing all this info up, just in case the forum implodes or something. Lately it seems my posts regardless of importance to other people or to myself get deleted over a set period of time in the name of "forum cleanup". As for what Suzaku and Zazz said...now that I earnestly think about it, this forum isn't exactly a good venue for GG Storyline aspects, but simultaneously, it is the only major GG collective I am aware of besides Gamefaqs. At least before, we had Holy Zen, but that's gone now...or at least on undetermined hiatus. If someone with both influence and a dedicated server, along with some level of maturity and what I'd like to call "GG Clout" (not referring to myself), was able to make a large forum community based on Guilty Gear lore, or perhaps an RP or Fanfiction section for it as well (with just a hint of fighting strategy, game info, or related Blazblue and other Arcsys such'n'such)...I don't see why that wouldn't be a hard thing to do. The only "hard thing" about it, is getting people to go there and build a community, since most people play GG competitively over Story, or barely know anything about the Story since a lot of it gets left out or clipped from the U.S. versions. What's more...Guilty Gear players are perceived as "elitists" by a good majority of the fighting community, while the non-serious players (or story oriented players anyway) are just written off as scrubs and otakus. It's somewhat of an unspoken curse, sadly. The main ingredient for such a place would be a place for people to go and talk about GG and socialize (but not trash talk), talk about fiction writing or other projects, artists are welcome too, etc, creative venues, heck, even music and metal fans would be welcome there, I think.
  15. Well obviously the national borders will be different, but what I mentioned was the true region that "old" Illyria is in historically.
  16. You're both wrong: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illyria Incidentally, this is the exact same place and region that the Crusades (OUR Crusades) were fought: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ChristianStatesInTheLevant.jpg Sound familiar?
  17. Even if it's only me, I'd still like to thank you for the hard work you're putting out, especially lately. Thanks.
  18. I would definitely look forward to something like that, a GG RPG. @danceljoy: This is an *old* Ky fanfic I wrote before I compiled his timeline and birthdate, etc. Monter la Foudre (Warning: contains bad French). I also wrote one for I-no a while back but it isn't worksafe.
  19. I don't see why not? I was thinking of posting my old half-baked GG fanfics a while back.
  20. You should check your Signature, Dark Dizzy. :o "doesn't afraid of anything".........
