Argh...the one thing I hate more than pairings is retcons...they make me sad on multiple levels.

I wouldn't say it's Fanon. But I would say that Raven is one of the many "triggers" for Axl's timeslipping if you will, meaning there's more than one. I mean, That Man says clearly in XX dialogue that it "will be" Axl's fault. Why would Ishiwatari rule out the idea of Axl and Raven when he included the story in GGXX in the first place? Unless it's a retcon or the emphasis isn't so much on "parallel existence" as it is Axl's fault rather than having anything to do with Raven. To some degree I'm starting to think Axl's timeslipping is a combination of "time-static-buildup" (read my I-no time theory), and to some degree clashing or conscious thought. My interpretation of the interview was that Raven wasn't THE cause, but rather just one of many factors.

Decided to do a Posterity Post regarding Sol's convo with Raven, hope it helps. @Mr. Bad Guy: If you have Lightning the Argent and would willingly create scans, I suppose it would be useful. But bear in mind how many pages the story is. I don't want to over-work translators.

Call this a theory if you want but...if anyone knows the backhistory of Wolverine, aka James Howlett aka Logan aka Weapon X, then they know where I'm going with this. Think about the "man" that became Karasu. He is genetically immortal from the beginning and thus a mutation from generic humanity since ancient times (compare/contrast to Slayer). Pluck him from his own time, or rather, "preserve" him so that he lies dormant for a few thousand years, and then break him out of whatever ice he was in (like a neanderthal in a block of ice), and then genetically modify his capacity to heal himself. And he becomes even deadlier than before. As to who did it, why, and how, that remains a mystery...but Raven has become fiercely loyal to That Man, referring to him as "His Holiness". Why this would be is uncertain, but he would willingly protect That Man with his own body if necessary. Though he is loyal, That Man has stated he is merely to 'be a witness to history' rather than be an active participant (an difference in opinion perhaps?). Then finally, compare-contrast with Sol. He has the audacity to call Sol a "monster". That should tell you something in terms of a difference in their power. That, and Raven is capable of winning a teleportation duel over the likes of Faust. Finally, regarding the idea and relationship between Raven and Axl. It occurs to me that the term "Parallel Existence" does not necessarily mean they are the same person (this is so, because Axl does not have a reaction to his "past" or "future" selves he has encountered in his time jumping, though they do help him time jump sometimes). However...it could also have something to do with genetic traits, or perhaps Axl and Raven are related by blood? Perhaps Axl is Raven's decendant. Though I can't be sure, it's becoming more interesting now. Damn, Suzaku...you a science major to know all this and explain it so well? A.I. Study? Particle Physics? Bioinformatics? Wow. In any case, a few keywords popped in my head: "God", "Apocalypse", and "Missing Link" Recall That Man's description of Valentine: "An Illegitimate Child of a Merciless Apocalypse" If by That Man's definition an "Apocalypse" is a being that "corrects God's mistakes" then we've got some idea of where he's going and what he has in mind. Keep in mind, Sol says it's all a joke on his part, while at the same time, it seems that That Man is "rewriting the book" so to speak on existence and definitions of what beings of life are. What's more, look back to the first GG. We have Sol deciding to finally pursue Justice even though she had been sealed away previously. If you think about it, it's possible that Sol represents "Species A" and Justice represents "Species C" in terms of an evolutionary chart. Or perhaps it's the other way around, though that's pure speculation at this point. To think that That Man managed to backup his own memories on a computer. It's clear to me he's no longer human in any sort of immediate capacity for that sort of transfer to happen. As to what "Karasu" (Cross?/Crass?) has to do with Raven...only time will tell. @rtl42: No problems at all, thanks! I'm sure there's "spoilers" in this thread that don't necessarily include the main storyline (such as this new story on That Man), but just as a precaution I don't want people to make objections to any posts in this thread regarding storyline. Oh, and speaking of Spoilers and what defines them in terms of GG. Ideally if anyone wants to get the summary of GG's storyline down, play the following games: GG GGX+ (Or read the story Faq I've posted previously by Ed Chang) GG Petit 1+2 (Alternative to GGX+) GGXX (Or read the GGXX Story Faq) GGXXAC+ GG Dust Strikers (Optional) GG Judgment (Optional) GG2 Overture Those are the "core" storylines people would need to check out. Obviously there are Drama CDs: GGX Drama CD's 1+2 GGXX Drama CD's Side Red+Black GGXX Drama CD's Night of Knives 1, 2, and 3. And then finally the Novels: Ky Kiske: Lightning the Argent (LtA) Chipp Zanuff: Butterfly and Her Gale (BaHG) Anything else outside of those core games is considered "inacessable through normal means" so it isn't really spoilers to mention the Drama CDs or the Stories from the Overture book or info from the Memorial Book, since those aren't immediately available for everyone to check out except through here. I tried hex-editing GGXAE once but that failed to yield results.

Stun Edge Charge Attack > 6H > Goes into anything. 6H gives you a free Greed Sever like 90% of the time, unless they are gods at mashing out. Sever Loops usually can only give you about 2 reps at mid screen or corner. You're actually better off doing a Vapor Thrust Loop than this. Even better: TK Stun Raise Forcebreak>Air CSE>5S (close)>2H>Greed>whatever... (though you can swap Greed for VT loop anytime) Also don't forget Slash VT gives you popup for Greed Sever opportunity. Just note that Greed Sever pops them up lower and lower with each rep and makes it easier to tech out, something Ky doesn't want.

Hah, it wasn't so much suffering as a misunderstanding. Regardless, Suzaku, if we had more guys like you, we'd get this stuff done in no time flat. Thanks a ton, and do what you think you can, and if you can't that's fine, we'll work with whatever. Just gotta get the guys who "can do it" to work with the guys who "can get the goods". If you catch my meaning. I'll be honest when I say, I work best when I sort the info into logical bites. Translation was never my forte, but I'll do what I gotta to get stuff done. Call me a nostalgia buff, but, I still don't get it. Regarding GG Generations mode (GG Mode/GGX Mode) in Accent Core Plus: I can do "Charge Cancelling" okay (GG Mode), but I still have no clue about FD Cancelling (GGX Mode), that and I'm not sure what other features were tweaked in GGX Mode. I can do FD Brake, but that's an old skill from GGX. I know in GG Mode everything can be IADed really low or jump cancelled from... But what's the trick for using GGX Mode? I heard something about damage scaling from OTG stuff, but is there more to it? What are the specifics?

Question: If you were gonna create a sprite similar to Sol's sprites, but on the scale and quality of a Blazblue sprite...how would you go about doing that?

Ah, I apologize. About all I wanted was someone who could read Kanji relatively easily and type what they see. Even if they suck at English, all the better if Japanese is their native. Sorry for not making that clear. Just turning the text in the book to a text document via copy and paste or just typing what they see as is like you did earlier with that bit of text. That's all I really wanted, no translation needed, just ID kanji and type as is. (I'll probably do the translation work, and if needed I'll look for corrections as I go.)

Speaking of SCWU2 Final...I had both the original PC game and the one demo with Zero (Heero Yuy as Wing Zero) playable, did they finish that?

More or less, I don't mind if someone isn't fluent in English, if they can just type what they read in the Japanese books "as-is" and convert it to text document, that cuts the work in half. I don't mind Kanji, Hirangana, or Katakana if it suits you, as long as its text in a text file. Like I said, I suck at ID-ing Kanji, much like Ashercroix here, but anyone willing to simply type the stuff up, or convert a PDF or two to Japanese text (once in a blue moon if necessary, not right now, but it might come up, like that Raven PDF, though that one's done), that'd be EPIC WORK for me to thank you for. Nekomata, if you'd be so willing, you'd be doing this community a great service. I tend to do better when the kanji is solid text document and can process through it faster for translation.

I'm currently using a program called "Fighter Factory". Get used to using PNG, GIF, and BMP files, as well as some other weird extensions, and make sure you attach a pallette to everything. Oh...and be aware that Photoshop has a bad habit of flipping your palette upside down.

Basically, I just need someone who can copy-pasta the Japanese text if possible. If you can type Japanese, that's fine. You don't need to translate, and that can save you some work.

I don't know who all has GGXXAC+ US version yet, but I would like to ask, if there is anyone out there who doesn't have it and if they have any questions regarding it. Even with all the info me and Zazz have been blabbing about lately, there's still a bunch of stuff that could be discussed or mentioned. That, and again, I apologize for the late mention that I still haven't gotten around to doing summaries for Night of Knives part 3. Someone already did the Axl sidestory, but I have yet to finish. Also @ Ashercroix: You mentioned sometime ago that you wanted to work on translating the mook stories on Raven/Sin/That Man/Valentine/Izuna/Dr. P/etc...if I could be so kind as to ask if you made progress on that, or perhaps if not, could you produce a Japanese text document transcript of it? I'm better at translating Japanese if it's typed text rather than reading it off the page (yeah it shows my translation skills aren't up to snuff but oh well).
