  1. Like I said, depends on the opponent and their style. If, say, you're fighting against someone who likes to use overheads a lot, then just look for lows. Normally most people don't fight that way, so the general rule is to block low and expect an overhead once in a while... it just depends on who you're fighting against and their style.
  2. Not that anything I have to say is important but... The school of thought I was lead to believe is: [Either always assume a low is coming and expect overheads to come out intermittently] OR [Always assume mids and overheads are coming frequently, and expect lows every once in a while] These "types" depend on the player's offensive style. But it's because of this school of thought I've been able to block all kinds of mess without thinking too much about it. I just look at what my opponent's habits are, and react to them accordingly. That includes crossups and stuff that you'd typically "block the wrong way".
  3. Thanks guys, got another question... I was looking up Unlimited Movelists in the BB Wiki, but it seems to be missing a lot of info on Unlimited Kagura, anyone know where I can find his extra inputs? He seems to be able to do Guile's Sonic Hurricane (Sonic Boom Hyper from MvC2 lol). He's not the only one with missing inputs, too, just wondering if anyone has a full list that the Wiki doesn't have.
  4. According to what I've heard from an Aksys Rep, it was ARC System Works' choice to not include Library Mode with the U.S. version... as for everything else, it was probably rushed. I'm thinking they had way too many things on their plate (ACPlusR Patch, GGXrd) at the time to do a polished work. Let's hope GGXrd doesn't get treated the same way.
  5. Hey guys got a question. Is there a Guide for Gigant Assault Mode anywhere? I know it's not really that important in the grand scheme of things to learning the game, but I just wanted to know if anyone wrote one or knew strategies/patterns on how to beat Take-Mikazuchi with every character?
  6. Norimitsu just did stuff for extra material like the Novels / Drama CDs / Manga. I don't think he did any direct works for ARC Sys.
  7. Ask the folks who own an X-Box 360, they've had the game for far longer. Should be easier to rip on 360 I'd think.
  8. Ramlethal is what shows up in the Versus screens in-game, so it was just a translation subtitle mistake in the Arcade Opening. They also keep screwing up the Stage Names too. (To say nothing about how disappointed I am in the typos in ACPlusR's Movelist).
  9. That's part of it (being their doctor I mean) but also he was highly skilled in other ways too, since info states he came from China... so likely he knows a bit about Ki and the Orient, Martial arts, etc. So they wanted an Assassin Doctor to be more precise. @BladeofJustice: Suzaku summed up everybody's info in that paragraph he wrote, so there isn't much in the way that's new other than Chipp's info about him starting up Chipp Country (yes, CHIPP COUNTRY I will not repeat this).
  10. Faust was a famous surgeon to begin with, the Assassins Organization wanted to recruit him even before he became a murdering psychopath. So he was highly skilled even beforehand. The girl wasn't a big deal, dragging Faust into the mire was the idea, since he had political clout back then.
  11. In Faust's PWAB Report, they say "He reminds them of a little project they were working on"... I don't suppose this "project" is the "Resurrection Technique" he wanted to try? Figure, PWAB > Works for United Nations > Senato is within the U.N. = PWAB works for Senato. It makes even more sense when you consider Zato was the very person they used the technique on... they used the very idea Faust wanted to try in the first place on the man who was supposed to kill him. AND IT MAKES EVEN MORE SENSE when you realize Testament (the only known Gear to come out of PWAB's projects) was the guy who freed Zato and Faust in the original Guilty Gear!! Senato let Testament run the show! He was being used to get access to Justice! They let Testament have access to their prisoners, Faust and Zato... that's the only way he could probably get away with holding a Sacred Order selection tournament.
  12. Ah I was going based on Suzaku's translation in the GGXrd News Thread. Guess it was a mistake in the list (or rather it didn't specify which one it was). Normally I read it as "Chemical Love Yoko" or "Chemical Love Tate". Edit: No wait, he lists it like it's a followup, not in and of the move itself... so I got confused. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16461-Xrd-News-Thread/page2&p=1543499&viewfull=1#post1543499 Okay nevermind: 214+K CL Yoko (Horizontal) >214+S Hasei (Derivative) 214+S CL Tate (Vertical) Does the 214+S CL have a followup? I don't think it does.
  13. GGXrd question here... Horizontal CL doesn't seem to be listed in I-No's movelist anymore except during Sultry Performance... Does that mean it can't be done anymore by itself? Or just only Vertical CL?
  14. Yep. Nope. I think Tool assists should only be used to attempt theoretical combos at best. Not for play-throughs using godly hitboxes.
  15. If you're not American, get out! Just kidding. The simple answer I think lies in the fact that the Japanese version already has a mess of problems they need to fix, so that's probably going to be dealt with too.
  16. Rev.13: http://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/k/kjv/kjv-idx?type=DIV1&byte=5379618 Also references Leopaldon, lol
  17. 閃光の鋒よ王 "The King's Sword shall SHINE!: RIDE THE LIGHTNING!"
  18. To anyone who is kinda confused about why Zato is so "empty": He was probably reconstituted in the Backyard somehow... much like how Residents in the Backyard form in the first place (like Izuna). They don't have a will or consciousness at first, but that tends to develop over time. It's interesting to note that Eddie has more of a personality than Zato at this point... and he seems rather annoyed because of it. Even more interesting to note that Zato's "resurrection" and Babylon's destruction fall in line with the Book of Revelations in the Bible. "The Beast that was not, yet is" and the "Fall of Babylon".
  19. Pretty sure they're the same or derived from older moves.
  20. Oh, he's using that "English Skip" trick where you knock all the balls in while the last one skips in the air (8-ball) then drops in the hole (but that hole looks like hell itself lol).
  21. The "symbol / pillar" that appears in the Sky above Babylon and basically nukes it is the same symbol that appears on the book locket on the "Sage's Testament" Backyard Book in the opening. It also appears "briefly" when the Title appears (in flames), and from what I heard also appears in Sol's Dragon Installed "Instant Kill". So it has a link to the Backyard. And the fact that Ramlethal is calling humans "imitations" / "worthless dolls" (dekisokonai domo ningyou) implies that she's the real deal instead. I don't know why that would be, but her being an "Apocalypse" might have something to do with it, according to the Gearmaker.
  22. R.I.P. Guilty Gear sprites and sprite rips. You will be missed. Unless someone finds a way to rip 3D models that is???? :D
  23. Oh yeah and based on what I've heard so far... "Original Man" may be the Sage who wrote the "Sage's Testament" book on the Backyard. In other words "Original Man" is the guy who discovered the Backyard (and Magic) by accident in 2010. He seems to have met Axl Low in 2192 and can talk to him psychically. "Original Man" wants him to pass a message on to "That Man" (The Gearmaker). That's all I know so far.
  24. The whole thing with Junkyard Dog seems to have been "retconned in" since we never got any close pics of Order-Sol's sword until that recent illustration from Accent Core Plus R (the one with Ky's head poking out from behind that pillar Order Sol is leaning on). Anyway the label just says "Junkyard Dog", so it's safe to assume that: ---Junkyard Dog was that slab of Steel Order Sol uses. ---Junkyard Dog Mk. II is the upgrade he got for VastEdge. ---Junkyard Dog Mk. III is his most recent version. (Mk. II and III appear to hold the core of the Fireseal inside them). About all I can say about Magnolia Eclair II so far is that it was "given" to Ky on his Birthday (November 20th) it doesn't say what year. Eclair means "Lightning" in French. Oh yeah, and "Durandal Call" (the move with the big swords that come out) is called "Durandal" because of King Charlemagne of France (a French King, much like Ky). It's the famous sword Charlemagne owned.
  25. According to what I read from the GG2 stories... 2182 - 83 Ky x Dizzy stuff (aka the Summers of Love) (also Chipp Stuff in the Butterfly and Her Gale Novel if anyone cares) 2184 (May 31st) Dizzy has an egg which they name Sin, he hatches and grows up really fast. 2184 (December 31st-ish New Years Eve) Ky is depressed cuz of Senato, Dizzy calls Sol to cheer him up, Sol and Ky have a fight, Sin breaks up the fight, Sol adopts Sin. 2185 Sol is with Sin, teaching him the ropes of Bounty Hunting. 2186 Overture > VastEdge 2187 In January Sol gets his Junkyard Dog (named after the original Junkyard Dog he had as Order-Sol according to a recent illustration label by Daisuke) upgraded to Mk.III status.... and GGXrd happens in October. 2192 Axl and I-No something or other going on (dunno details yet).
