  1. It's "tradition" for me to ask this question: What all can you do with Dragon Install (this time around)? :D
  2. There is a downside to the Lobby Mode in BlazBlue though... "Fixed Rules" (2/3 rounds, people can cut in front of you after a match). Not to mention that if everyone is busy playing Lobby, then nobody is playing Ranked or the other modes. (That's a downside given to any mode that happens to be popular or common in a game). I remember the days when you could set a quarter next to somebody and know without a doubt you were gonna be next, but at the same time people respected people more back then... I like the idea of being able to have some control over the room so you don't have to deal with rude players or just have more options to enjoy the game at your own pace (i.e. Unlims, EX Mode, Gold Mode, 3/5 rounds, classic modes, Type B Rotation, etc). As for GGXrd, I have no idea what they have in mind for Lobby or Online play, but I hope it's worthwhile... (and at the same time if this game has a Replay mode, I hope it lets you change camera angles for 3D perspective hehehe).
  3. Here's a map of my life and why I hate not owning a car or money to LEAVE THIS STATE:
  4. If that's really the case, I must've missed it somewhere. That's interesting. To be honest I never considered that system to be disrupting in the pace of the game in the first place. Of course, Guilty Gear doesn't exactly have "disarmament" (the closest being Litchi and Bridget) but the idea that you have to stop and think about what your opponent is going to try next in a 50/50 situation is definitely exciting... at least on paper. Though I am glad there isn't a "mash contest" anymore. (Seriously, if you've seen people spam the same moves/specials over and over hoping they can beat your attack... it gets kinda dull, especially people who DP clash over and over). I play SamSho so I'm more adjusted to the idea I guess, but I hope people do get used to the idea of a mindset of "stop thinking about what you were gonna do and start thinking about what they're gonna do next" and try and play it safe in Danger Time. Also, regarding YRC Slowdown affecting the game's pace... I'm more than used to games with bullet time sequences so I don't see much of a problem with its integration. Dissidia Duodecim has EX Revenge, which really isn't that big a deal unless you set up the rules in such a way as to extend the time window. SamShoV had "Concentration One" which only lasts for as long as you have meter or built up concentration meter, which isn't that long when it's used in matches to begin with (Issen does more damage in that case anyway and is only a final round instance like Astral Heats). To be honest, I'm more concerned about moves/specials that didn't used to have FRCs but can now be cancelled in the same way. Things people won't expect to be cancelled that will catch them off guard. I think having a more open-ended Roman Cancel system is a good thing, and good for diversity. I just think people need to get out of the old ways of GG thinking and start looking ahead to new ideas and the potential that will develop (stay optimistic).
  5. I was just remembering the clash system in Samurai Showdown games. When blades lock two players circle around the screen and then there's a mash contest... person who mashes more disarms their opponent. I don't think Danger time is like that, but... it seems to share a similar idea. As someone who has played GG since 1998, I can say that this game is probably about as good as SF Alpha 2, probably. Sure, no Forcebreaks, but you don't really need them to play around with "Modern Cancels" (YRCs). I'm thinking GGXrd Sign is just the first of many updates (besides the Roster is gonna grow, and so is the system, they already said that in an earlier interview)... this is just the foundation and only the beginning. Just gotta be patient.
  6. I wish more Guilty Gear fans were like you.
  7. Not trying to derail the topic or anything, just adding some bits of Unlim info I discovered: New Unlim Hakumen links: Most people know these: 5A > 5A > 5C (the C has an untech property if it hits by itself I think) 5A > 5A > 5B (low mixup kick) Not sure if this one still exists (I'd have to check again): 6A > 6C (?) but here's some other ones: 2B > 5B > 5B (does an additional kick, seems to have a weird hit property, not sure if you can do much with it) 5C > 4C > 6C (does a mini-Yukikaze, not sure if the damage is decent or not, but it does cross up on guard, the timing to do it is kinda like a charge move ala Sonic Boom). As for 1.1 I never had a problem with meter gain, I just ignore it for 6C/6B shenanigans (because people mash buttons lol).
  8. Gunsmith Dogs is the group Sol has a "Patent Pending" for. "Bullet Heaven" is the Junkyard Dog's "make and model". Gunsmith Dogs themselves are just the guys who helped build Sol's Junkyard Dog Mk. II and Mk. III ---Junkyard Dog Mk. I (that sheet of metal Order Sol swings around) ---Junkyard Dog Mk. II (VastEdge Gun-looking thing with the cross on it) ---Junkyard Dog Mk. III (Sol tried to get a patent for it in January 2187... it seems like it houses the core of the Firesealed Sword Jinki inside of it, it opens up during Sol's Instant Kill). I wrote the model number of the weapon down somewhere, I will grab it later.
  9. If you guys don't draw Justice fanart in your book, I will be sad. But good luck anyway.
  10. For some reason I really really wish Es was playable in BlazBlue. She's super cute.
  11. Now that I think on it though, I'm really curious to know what all was in Library Mode that we missed out on, since it wasn't localized. That's another potential project (that we can save for a rainy day or something).
  12. Minor Localization switcheroo thingie: Sinken Battle > Sudden Death All Counter > Counter All Poison Damage > Deadly Poison Auto Heal > Regeneration Life Regain Up > Victory Rush Start Heat Up > Belligerent Fighter Heat Recover > Burning Soul Heat Keep > Burning Embers Half C Trigger > Frequent Crusher Half C Assault > Reduce C Assault Half Astral heat > Reduce Astral Max Overdrive > Maximum Overdrive Enemy Powerdown > The Peacemaker Enemy Def Down > Defense Reduction Enemy Heat Down > Heat Reduction Enemy Spd Down > Speed Reduction Enemy AI Down > A.I. Reduction Anti-DD > Destruction Drive Anti-AH > Anti Astral Gold Burst > Golden Burst Invisible > Cloak of Shadows Mr. Stoic > Donation Drive Mr. Stoic 2 > Financial Drive I don't recall the character specific ones at the moment... Item Break > Item Crush Item Reflector > Quick Hands Mist Finer > Fatal Barrage Burst Max > Haven't encountered this one yet... Anyway, building a setup that is both character-specific AND Unlimited seems to be reliable. Also seems like zoner-based characters (Nu-13, Mu-12, etc) benefit more from "Sudden Death", so once you get it it's a good way to level up your characters, just be sure to not use your Overdrive too much because you'll need Burst in case they go on the offensive. I find that Haku-men with Burning Embers and Maximum Overdrive seems nigh unstoppable. If I can ever get him to "Turn Unlimited" with Burning Embers, I don't think getting to the bottom will be a problem.
  13. The "old fashioned" way to do it is to just play Arcade Mode with 2 controllers and hit start, beat the crap out of somebody for 1 round and see the end quote. Nice to know they allow it for Netplay and Lobby though. Also don't forget about Mirror Match Quotes. :D Not sure if BBCP has "boss exclusive" quotes though (I-No in Guilty Gear did). Keep in mind that characters you "have a drama conversation with" in Arcade mode don't have a Win quote unless Player 2 butts in to challenge you. So for example, in BBCT, Jin might talk to Ragna in the Drama Section of Arcade Mode, but if Player 2 picks Jin and they fight, he has his own quote too.
  14. Wow you guys have been busy. I'm glad to see there's fans for such things. @harmless kitten: I know what it's like, I had to wade through all of Slayer's Haiku bits and translate them all. You'll feel better when it's done.
  15. Here's the thing, in the past I had not especially considered doing this for BlazBlue for the main reason that everything was already translated beforehand courtesy of Aksys Games' localization team. But apparently with BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma, none of the voice sound test was included in the game's Gallery. Certainly, having stuff pre-translated ahead of time saves me (or anyone else) the work of translating, but it's also nice to know what the heck everyone is saying as sometimes even English (especially Arakune's "English" if you can call it that) gets garbled in the audio and hard to make out. Not only that, but sometimes the localized voices don't always do a "direct translation" of their Japanese counterparts, so there's some things that get lost in translation. I'm not saying I will spearhead said project, but I'm just laying the idea on the table to discuss if people would be interested to work on something like this. Right now as it is BlazBlue isn't finished as a fighting game series, so by that line of thinking we can expect at least one more game before the saga is "mostly complete". So what I am thinking is, to create a Quote Listing (Win Quotes, in-battle quotes, taunts, special quotes, what have you) same as I did with Guilty Gear Quote Project that covers: --BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger (I own this, so it's easy to reference) --BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (again I own this) --BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend (I own this as well) --BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma (I recently learned that people over at Mugen Guild forums ripped the character voice audio... so it wouldn't be hard to work on it at some point). --BlazBlue: Insert Time-related Subtitle Here (the sequel that we all expect will come) Having a complete list of all character battle quotes (Japanese, English, and Direct translation) would definitely be a nice addition for fans looking to know everything there is to know about BlazBlue's game history (and I know they're out there, frothing at the mouth that I didn't make a project like this for BB and only did it for GG anyway). Again, not saying I will work on this (as obviously I'm only one guy and I got a life to live and I'm a bigger GG fan anyway), but putting a bee in your bonnets to think about. I know there's plenty of people who would be interested (Tong and BladeofJustice were already nagging me about this earlier). I will "help" if it comes down to people wanting to do this... but for now, it's a suggestion/idea/thought in your brains to think about. And yes, people have asked me if I would ever make a Q&A Blog for BlazBlue story related stuff... I will *think* about it but I'm not the BB story expert around here.
  16. Darn, that's a shame... would've been cool if they added battle damage. Same for Potemkin too of course (since you never see his face outside of Kanchou poke or Story Mode). With that, I am also looking for the track list theme names of everyone. Also, still looking for "Globe Locations" of all the stages you fight in (they appear just before the versus screen pops up I think).
  17. It's Guilty Gear, GG is dark compared to BB.
  18. Didn't know he helped work on #Reload, but it doesn't say he worked on Midnight Carnival proper or GGX: By Your Side / X Plus though... hmm... Well maybe they'll use his writing again at some point. Norimitsu made some interesting characters. I'd half expect Tyr to show up in GGXrd at some point. Hah.
  19. To anyone who doesn't get Heavy Day Lyrics... The Clown who "gave them a grand old time" for a price is the Violator from Todd McFarlane's Spawn... pretty sure.
  20. For GG Newbies seeking to know more of Guilty Gear's plot... feel free to check out my blog. http://gear-project.tumblr.com/tagged/FAQ
  21. Just wondering but, does that only apply to Ky? I'd like to know if Sol maybe has something similar where he loses his head guard. Or maybe it's something they hope to add to the game (ala Battle Damage).
  22. Someone keep me informed of the proceedings/results of this tourney... I'm interested to know who will win this year. I personally don't qualify since I'm a member of both GameFAQs and Dustloop... so meh (and I haven't played BBCP long enough to be any good at it).
  23. Thanks! As for Unlimited Arakune, I've fought him as Kagura in Abyss Mode a few times. I can tell you that 6D ( C ) "Wyvern" on Counterhit is probably your best option, otherwise wait him out as best you can. He can't hit you very well if he's being hit himself (and he only does f inverse Bug Beam when he's got meter). I've found that giving him "Counter All" in Abyss Mode is really helpful too, makes combos that much easier. Maximum Overdrive might help too, but it takes a while to get used to how his D move timings change while you're in Overdrive.
  24. This is the right Q&A Thread for this, right? I just want to know what Unlimited Kagura's full movelist/properties are. The BlazBlue Wiki seems to be missing a lot of information on him. HP? --He seems to have guard break properties on his special D moves. --He has a Flash Kick Distortion Drive --He has a Bike DD (Overdrive Mode) --His Projectile DD has auto-Overdrive properties even if you don't burst. --He has something like Guile's Sonic Hurricane (but I can't seem to figure out how to input the move, I tried everything I can think of). It's either some kind of Reposte thing (like Haku-men's Yukikaze... or some other thing). All I know is, it's got invincibility frames and a super version of his black sonic boom projectile comes out. Thanks for your diligent work.
