Winning isn't always about hard effort and skill. Sometimes it's about playing smart and reading your opponent's situation and reacting accordingly. Some of the best players can fall if they leave themselves wide open to the possibility of someone taking advantage of a mechanic they don't pay attention to. As for learning...there's never a point when you "stop" learning. There will be plenty of time to play skillfully when you can take advantage of it, but until then, you just do what you can (as what Guilty Bits FRC guide once said...not all FRCs are all that useful, just use what you can). -

Leaving aside your insult to players just learning the mechanics in general. Abiding by those mechanics shouldn't make you weak. Taking advantage of them should be considered strength and tactics. "Playing better" doesn't always mean winning, as one player can be using cheap methods to win while another is doing highly technical stuff and losing, so it seems to me it's relative to whether or not it works out and you win in the end. And if you win while taking advantage of the game's mechanics, does that make you weak? Most would say that if there's a "cheap way to win" that the game needs to have more balance and be less broken. That's not the fault of the player. The player just does what they can do. Calling a game's mechanics a crutch is the same as blaming those same mechanics for why you lost a fight if you ask me. Maybe gambling meter on Overdrives instead of RCs might seem risky to some, but it's useful to others, and a great idea if you ask me, especially in dire situations where it's welcome and needed if you feel you need to resort to it. -

It's too bad you can't Burst during a Faint. Or at least enable Burst at all times when the opponent goes IK Mode. -

Speaking of which, I thought "going IK stance" applied some kind of Faint Modifier to Faint Status? (i.e. you recover from Faint faster). Does that still apply? -

[Axl] Edinburgh Magical Polis (Scotland) [i-No] Babylon 5 Years in Future (Mesopotamia / Iraq) [Potemkin?] [Zato=ONE?] [Faust?] Also, has anyone seen what happens when a jump attack gets Blitz Shielded? Do they bounce off and go flying? Can you do aerial Blitz Shields? -

It's been an old tradition to introduce at least 4 new characters with each iteration. GGX > Jam/Anji/Venom/Johnny (and Dizzy) GGXX > Slayer/Bridget/I-No/Zappa (later A.B.A. and Order Sol) GG2> Izuna/Sin/Valentine/Dr.Paradigm (and Raven) -

I mained Ky since DAY ONE of the GG franchise. I just learned to play him, rain or shine, and took what I could get and enjoy the game as a whole. Just gotta be more patient, people. -

GGX Zato=ONE in-game battle quotes voiced by Shiozawa imply Zato was going to die beforehand post-GGX (meaning Shiozawa's death was purely coincidental with Zato's)...but aside from that. It almost seems like Zato is channelling Dio and Eddie is doing his impression of "The World" (JJBA reference???), lol same voice actor so why not? He has a mark on his chest that ALMOST looks like but isn't quite a Gear Mark (but I can't be sure), which he never had before. It HAS been six years since Eddie's "expiration date" so likely he's surpassed it and evolved in to something stronger than a typical Forbidden Beast (Kinjuu). That and Zato's movelist seems to have some kind of shadow effect post-Invite Hell, not sure what it does yet. Also the ???? character seems to be some kind of creature that hijacked a Hospital Bed, based on the angle...and the ball-shaped thing looks like it's wearing a crown of some kind. -
I'm going to not even bother with names, but sound-alikes. You pick the actors (since I have a bad memory)! Sol: The guy who voiced Hellsing or the voice of Guts from Berserk. Ky: The guy who voiced Leonardo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A.B.A.: Any of the ladies from Disgaea might do. Johnny: Whomever voices Yoshimitsu in Soul Calibur. Millia: If Arachnid had an anime, that girl...if not, Elisabeth Mcglynn (Major from Ghost in the Shell). Robo-Ky: Doesn't matter. May: Rini from Sailor Moon. Eddie: Whomever voices Milliardo Peacecraft in Gundam Wing (Zechs Merquise). Dizzy: Hitomi's VA from Escaflowne. Anji: This could be anyone...but I'm thinking that guy with the folding fans and white outfit in Full Metal Panic. Slayer: Schwarz in Big O. Testament: Relius' English VA. Baiken: Freya's VA from Valkyrie Profile 2 I think. Venom: Whomever is Archer's VA from Fate/Stay Night. Jam: Anyone from DoA, lol Zappa: Spike Spencer. lol Chipp: Whoever voices English Terry Bogard would fit I think. Bridget: Any of the ladies from Lucky Star. Faust: The crazy android assassin in the pinstripe suit in Big O. Potemkin: Anyone could do him, really...voice distortion and all. Axl: One of the regular cops from Batman Arkham Origins could do him. I-No: Urd from Oh My Goddess. Kliff: Whoever voices Arthur in Ulimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. Justice: Whomever voiced Valentine in GG2. lol

Based on the videos thus far...do we have some idea where all the stages (and maybe characters) are located? I mean, okay, something like Illyria Castle would be in Albania obviously, but what about the other stages? Any confirmation that Slayer's stage is located in Transylvania? New York is obvious. -

Still no info from the Globe on Character Select, yet, I take it? Thanks for the videos. Overdrives used to be called Chaos Attacks...dunno if they're being called Hellfire Attacks now...might just be some way of saying max tension. (Like MvC's "Maxxxx!!!") -

Here's my questions (if someone can answer them): ---Can you jump/airdash after High Jump (Super Jump 2-8 input then 8 again) like you can in BlazBlue? Or do you still have to rely on Jump Install yet? ---There's a globe on Character Select that shows locations of characters/stages...can anyone tell me where everything is located on the globe/map? ---Can I-No Airdash after YRC Chemical Love? (That was annoying to do due to strict timing for me). Also any chance she has her "Black Outfit" Alt later on (from #Reload w/ Pink Guitar)? ---How does Blitz Shield work on repelled "air" attacks? (Say someone does a Jumping Normal or IAD Normal and you BS it) Do they just bounce away as untechable or can you follow up and punish? ---Someone mentioned the "roll away" state that happens when Potemkin hits with 6H...does this hit state relaunch like Ground Slide in AC? (Not just for Potemkin of course, but for everyone?) ---Oh yeah almost forgot, does anyone know what the deal was with Millia in the 2nd Trailer? Where you do the Dust Combo with Venom at that 3D angle, and Millia comes back down the same way (Venom launches her, and she comes back down towards the camera)? Was that aspect of Dust ever explained? -
I haven't seen the credits to it yet, but based on how the game "sorta" ends and restarts, those credits would be pretty short. I'll have to ask Lux again about it.
