  1. Yeah, I'll definitely make it both days no matter what. I just don't want to get yelled at if I don't have to. :3 If I can talk my folks into letting me stay the night there (which is doubtful) and you think you might be able to swing housing, you *might* have to talk with my parents so they can make sure you aren't a serial killer. But since I'm sure that's incredibly uncomfortable, if it wouldn't work out for whatever reason, I can just drive back down/up to make it both days no sweat. :]
  2. For what it's worth, my parents have effectively disallowed me from staying the night somewhere besides home for MWC, so I won't be needing housing. I also apparently can "only go one day" despite it being a two day event, but since I figure that's only because my parents can be overprotective douchebags, I might be able to swing driving up both days if I pay for my own gas money. And this is a prime example of why it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. Ugh.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCi4mIdU54c But yeah, what Doromac said. Check this thread out. It's at the same location as MTN, except it's a three day event of different fighting games/tournaments. Hope you can make it- newcomers are always welcome. :D
  4. I personally like the Superman impression move. I watched that whole video and didn't see the guy hit with it a single time. So disappointing. The more I think about it, the more I think I'd enjoy making it on Saturday. I may even enter a Saturday tournament or two just for fun if I can make it. But yeah, I'll keep you up to date. Thanks for the heads-up. :D If I can get hold of some money to buy it with before then, I may enter the AH3 tournament. It doesn't seem too different from Blazblue. :P
  5. Just made a post on the new MWC thread. Thanks Milln, I hope it grabs some attention and builds some hype. You're not the only one wishing it were Shaq-Fu.
  6. Hype get. Thanks for posting all the info here Milln- the details are really helpful, and I hope it attracts some attention. I'm undecided on whether or not I'll show up on Saturday (it'd be cool to watch the AE and MvC tourneys), but I'll be sure to make it Sunday for BB. Also. Okay, so it's definitely not Snowboard Kids. I'm going to have to do some research and see what I can come up with. :3 EDIT: It better not be this.
  7. Yep, that's probably mine, haha. To be honest, I really only need one copy of C.S., so you can hold onto the disk for tourney purposes (MWC inparticular). I *would* like my Marvel case back, though, because it feels weird having it in my extra BB case. :P
  8. Wait a second... So if you have an extra copy of C.S. lying around, it's probably mine. XD Whether you do or don't, I'd be willing to trade you an extra C.S. case for an extra MvC3 case though, provided no one steps forward and claims one. :3
  9. I have to say, this has been my most enjoyable MTN yet. I didn't play a lot of casuals, but I played the majority of the people who attended, and had a ton of fun in the arcade and Steak 'n Shake afterwards. Shoutouts: Milln- I can't express my gratitude enough for all you do at MTN. It might sound silly/sappy, but MTN is really special to me, and I can honestly say it's one of the best times of my life. You really go above and beyond the call of other tourney hosts, what with supplying everything we need and more (free quarters come to mind). I had a fantastic time at MTN6 yesterday, especially in the arcade/Steak 'n Shake (TMNT, DDR, and Come On Baby especially), and can't wait to see what MWC has to offer next month... The mystery game included, even though I'm STILL convinced it's Snowboard Kids. :P Thanks again for everything, Milln. :D Astaroth- Congrats on winning MTN6! I was really hyped to FINALLY play you this time, and even more hyped to see you working your way through losers to take the crown. :] I hope to see you perform just as well in MWC- but don't think I won't give you a run for your money then, especially since I know the secret to getting through Tager's 6A now. :3 Midnight- It didn't hit me until today that we never played yesterday. Uh... Can we just assume that you would have mopped the floor with me and/or air grabbed me to oblivion? XD Really though, I hope we can get some casuals in at MWC. Even though you didn't win, it was really cool and respectable seeing you play well with so many characters in the finals. I don't think enough people gave/give you credit for that. I hope to see you continue playing each character more, and the variety increase if not stay the same. :] Tad- It was great to see you back at the tourney scene after so long! Congrats on getting fourth place- that's quite the achievement, especially considering you didn't have the advantage of knowing a lot of players' playing styles from being absent the past few tourneys. Keep up the great work with Valk, and Noel too if you decide to stick with her. :D LSS- Congrats on beating Mr. 3rd Place, aka me! XP We already talked about it, but I figure that lands you somewhere around "fourth place" by default. :3 It was good to see your Noel improve, and not just because of the CSII changes. Don't count me out just yet though- I'll give you much more of a run for your money at MWC. You better count on it, and don't get knocked out before then! Volpe- Volpe, did you make these? Haha, just kidding of course. I definitely agree that 2D sprites > 3D sprites. Still can't help but think you're wrong about Marvel though. Maybe we'll talk about it more at MWC... And actually play there. :P Papstr- Good to see you back! We ALWAYS need more than one Ragna main at MTN- I can't do it all by myself. It's too much pressure. D: So. Be there for MWC, and practice that CSII Ragna. I expect good things from you, Papstr! P.S. Congrats on getting the first Astral of MTN6 (even if it wasn't a tourney match). :D Kain- It was great having you back! MTN needs a TN Makoto main, so I'm putting that responsibility on you. You're now obligated to make it to every tourney from now on. :D Good games at MTN6- I hope to see you improve even more before MWC, and beat Eshi in a Makoto mirror there. *Salutes* Make me proud. :3 Klein- Haha, yep! Ragna has a "get out of every situation for free unless he's baited" card for everything. :P I still think you need to do more wake-up somethings instead of just blocking. Hakumen has counters and whatnot, so use those to your advantage. But yeah, good games, and it was fun in the arcade afterwards! Hope you can make it to MWC for even more shenanigans. :] Doromac- I'm sorry, Doromac. I let you down. I beat you, and then I lost the next game. D: I won't let that happen next time. Next time, I'll beat you, and then I'll win the tourney, how about that? :D Haha, just kidding. Really though, that sucked. It was fun messing around in the lab with you a bit this time around, even if we didn't have any amazing discoveries, and it's great to see you can play so many of the game's cast. Keep up the good stuff in both Marvel and BB! I hope to see you perform well in both at MWC. :] Phil- It was really, really fun having you back at MTN, and playing Guilty Gear with an actual person and a controller that didn't suck *coughPSPD-Padcough*. I'll see if I can't brush up my AC any and play you in some casuals using BnBs next time. :D Naimat- Thanks for showing up for casuals like you said you would- it was fun to play you again with no lag. Sorry for giving our casuals the saltiest ending ever though. :P You better make it to MWC next month for the actual tourney portion AND casuals. No excuses. You still owe me some more matches as it is. :D Eshi- What Milln said. It would have been cool to have you and your friend at MTN, but it's totally understandable why you weren't able to make it. Honestly, I was hoping to see what we were up against BEFORE MWC, but I guess we'll all have to deal with your S-Tier Makoto next month. :P Grimstar- unamusedface.jpg. Pickle- MTN wasn't as hype without you, Pickle. Nobody did any commentary or ANYTHING. D: Make it to MWC. We NEED hype and commentary, and there's only one guy I want to do it. :3 Everyone else- sorry if I forgot you. Just let me know I forgot to include you and I'll make a comment just for you. :D Oh, and for everyone who wasn't at Steak 'n Shake, I think I'm going to bring Snowboard Kids 2 to the next MTN (not MWC) for people to play/try out. It's kind of like Mario Kart, except the bullshit isn't as bullshit, the OST is awesome, and it's genuinely fun to play with a group of four people. Unless it's received really well for some reason, I'll probably only bring it once and set it up to one of the extra TVs we seem to have. I'd still like people to give it a shot though. It's one of those games that defined my childhood and it's still fun to pick up and play every now and then.
  10. I think it's more of a comfortability issue than an internal hardware issue so to speak, but I'll let you try it out before you decide.
  11. I have a spare wireless Tekken fight stick I always bring to MTN, and no one ever uses it. You're more than welcome to use that for the duration of the tourney, but if you'd rather borrow someone else's since the majority of stick-users seem to think it's of crappy quality, I wouldn't be offended. Also... Update on the videos. In a cruel twist I should have expected, my computer seems to have trouble uploading them. It gets a few percent of the video up, then the ETA on the finishing time goes up to matters of DAYS. I (stupidly) thought it might be something with my internet connection, but after doing a couple tests with my mom's laptop it seems it's just my computer. Needless to say I'll be transferring all the videos to an external hard drive, then to her laptop to upload these two month old videos. Ugh. This is the last time I'll be using my computer for anything more than recording. The rest of the editing and uploading will be done on my parents' computers so I can get these to you guys in time that you all actually care about the videos.
  12. I'm legit on being able to make it, too. Was worried I might not have sufficient funds for gas and whatnot since my parents have been (understandably) stingy with funding my MTN habits, but I nailed a babysitting job for a few days this week that'll end up paying $75, so that'll be plenty. I messaged Star in hopes he lives close enough so we can work something out. For the record, if anyone lives close to I-40 between Cookeville and Antioch and won't be able to make it otherwise, I'll see if I can't give you a ride. I have to admit, I'm proud of how the attendance has rose significantly since yesterday's count though. Hope to hear of even more attendees as time goes on. :D
  13. Dang, I need to post/check here more often. Great games last night Astaroth and Tad, I had a lot of fun. Just finished some cool games with Seiki, too, although I wish our connections between each other weren't so fluctuating. MTN to play online more. I always have a blast playing with fellow Tennesseans. MTN People Who Care About Fighting Games Enough to Come to Tournaments. If I thought more than three people in Cookeville even knew what Blazblue was, I'd put up posters all over the place. And in a clever ploy, Midnight made EVERYONE think they have a chance to win the tournament so they'd show up, when in reality he plans to attend anyway... I like your thinking. Really though, it's the fuggin' summer. It's really disappointing to hear so many people aren't going/might not be able to make it this Saturday. I can't show off my new CSII Ragna Astral combos if nobody's there. :/
  14. For anyone who still cares, I've just got a couple more matches to edit for MTNBB4, then I'll have them all done. I'll save you all the sob stories of me working with my shitty computer. Now the only problem will be finding the times to upload them, since it takes up so much bandwidth I can't upload when other people are using the internet... Which is pretty much all the time, except late at night. tl;dr- Expect videos to show up later this week. Don't be expecting much from last tourney, though. A total of like five games were played on the setup I was hooked up to (which was all Gold colors, as Naimat demanded). I'll still get them up, but there won't be half as many as MTN4... So basically, I have less to edit and nobody will ever get to see me go six matches in Grand Finals without breaking a single grab again. Oh nooooooooooooooooo /sarcasm EDIT: Oh, and if any of you would be up for some CSII friendlies this week, I'll probably be on in the lateish evening all week brushing up for this Saturday's tourney. Hope to catch some of you on.
  15. Ah, good to see you're finally coming out of the closet Seiki. Kind of appropriate since your new main is Jin, eh? :3 Now that I've got the brackets, I can start categorizing the videos I already have made by player. It's getting there, but once again, my computer sucks ass when it comes to processing... It takes on average more than an hour to process a five minute video w/ commentary. :/ As for CS2, some of you may be guilty for choosing mains because of tiers, but at least you're not guilty for choosing mains because they're easy/familiar. >_>; *Still mains Ragna and hasn't messed with Noel hardly at all*
  16. Hey guys, once I'm done with finals tomorrow I'll resume work on videos ASAP. In the meantime, enjoy this 225 Heat Astral combo with Unlimited Jin.
  17. Yeah, great games all around everyone. I wish I could have gotten in some more Blazblue friendlies, especially since everyone seemed to be more in practice/at their top game AFTER the tournament. >_> That means I expect to see you guys on Live/PSN (on the rare occasions I play on it) over the summer, particularly after CSII comes out, so I won't be the only one who's played the game outside the tournament in weeks. XD Not to say I didn't have my fair share of competition- every game I played was extremely close... Except for finals, where I just got annihilated by Green Grabs. Freakin' Midnight, taking advantage of the fact I'm American. :P Anyway, shoutouts: Milln- Thanks again, so much for all you do at MTN. It really means a lot that you're willing to shell out your own money for T.V. setups, and organize everything by yourself for the benefit of the community. I was really happy to play Suguri again and Arcana Heart for the first time, and I know that wouldn't have been possible without the extra setups. It's really cool that you're not the kind of guy to say "oh, tournament's over, G2G guys," too- I always have a lot of fun at Steak 'n Shake/IHOP after the tournament just hanging with everyone, and I know there wouldn't be a lot of driving force behind that without you planning it. So again, thank you for all the hard work. It means a lot. :] Can't wait to see what you've got in store for us at next MTN. Midnight- I'm making it my goal to get good at breaking Green Grabs (especially air ones) before the next tournament. I mean, really... Those last six matches were EMBARASSING in that regard. ;_; Awesome games though, and solid Litchi as always. I don't know what happened between our match during Winner's Finals and Grand Finals, but whatever you did, keep doing it- it seemed to work for you pretty well. :P Naimat/Saltmaster- Ah, I can still taste your delicious tears in Cookeville. >:3 Really though, great games, especially after the tourney. Like I mentioned above, I wish I could have played you when you were more in practice/practice against me in the actual tournament, because you were mopping the floor with me in most of those friendlies. You played solidly in our tournament game, too... You just were just letting me get away with too many stupid mistakes. XD Next tournament, I expect you to punish me PROPERLY, you got that? I don't wanna hear any of this "waaaah CSII just came out" stuff. :] Astaroth- And yet ANOTHER tournament goes by without us playing at all. :/ I was really hoping you'd beat Midnight in Loser's Finals- not because I was afraid of Midnight more than you or anything, but because I haven't played a Tager (let alone yours) in the past three months. T_T This needs to be mended over the summer for sure, both over online and at the next tourney. I'm holding you to it. :D Snipingsnipe- Haha, thanks! I know I'm not all that with Ragna, but I like to think I'm consistent (which means double Berial Edge combos all the way, apparently). XD Nice Valk for sure- I was really, REALLY surprised when you told me you picked him up like a week ago, since I forgot you placed third in MTN3 as Rachel, and even MORE surprised when you told me you main Bang. It's great to have someone besides Midnight play more than one character well. :3 I just wish I could have played some more of your Bang and/or you in CSII... So you better make it to the next one! :] Doromac- It was really cool playing around on MvC3 after the tournament with you. I learned a lot watching you in Training Mode, and a few neat things (particularly that Akuma Raging Demon/Dante Hyper Combo thing) I wouldn't have found out about otherwise. I'm not that good at Marvel yet, so watching you pull off some of those really complex combos and introduce me to resets was and will be really helpful as I try to get better with the game. :D On another note, I have to admit it was really funny to see you pulling off amazing combos with the entire cast in Training Mode, then get to Mission Mode (where I KNOW the combos are easier) and have issues with some. I want you to have that Achievement by next tourney, Doromac. Otherwise I'm going to be disappointed. :P Star- I never played any games with you either... And we're not counting CSII, since we didn't even get the chance for half a game before I had to go play a tourney match. :[ Still, it was plenty of fun talking with you, hearing your reactions to CSII Noel, and hanging at Steak 'N Shake. Just make sure your mom doesn't kill you before next tournament- I want to play your CSII Noel SO bad! :3 Volpe- Raaaaaaaaage quitteeeeeeeer. :P Nah, I'm just kidding. I don't know what was up with that. There may be something wrong with my PSP wireless or something. *Shrug* But yeah, CSII casuals were fun when they were working, and you were yet another person I never got to play in the tourney. I wanna face dat Haku next time. :] Pickle- Once again, I can't wait to listen to some of this commentary. XD Honestly, I think you deserve a podcast or something. Every time I talk to you something ridiculous and great gets brought up/happens, like the triple (sun)glasses combo, and the shutter shade eyepatch. Keep MTN hype, and keep being genuinely awesome Pickle. :D Billy- Thanks for showing up man, it was cool playing you in randoms! I just wish you'd entered the tourney so those Astrals could have been added to my Astral Count. >:3 Still, solid playing though. Except for maybe the time I got Tager, all those games were really close. I expect you to pay me back for it in Pogeymanz some time over the summer. :] Patrick- Haven't seen you post here in a while, but if you're lurking, awesome Marvel team. I didn't get annihilated like I thought I would, but I can still tell we're playing at two totally different levels. I hope I can give you more of a run for your money next time we play, and if I have an opportunity to end the match like I did this time, I hope I don't waste it then. :3 Phil- For some reason, I'm always pleasantly surprised to see you at MTN. I never see you post here any more, I guess because you're not interested in CS1 any more at least, so you may not even get around to reading this. But in case you do, I hope our paths cross in a fighting game in the future again. Keep up the good work with Street Fighter. :] Tad- TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!1!Q So sad you couldn't make it this time either. I'm sorry, but if you don't make it to the next possible tournament, I'm revoking your privileges to be cool. :/ Seriously though, tourneys aren't the same without ya. If you can, make sure to ask off work and everything in advance for the next one. The best part is that everyone's going to suck in the next tourney because CSII will have just come out, so you won't have any catching up to do! :D Justin (on the off chance you actually read this)- Holy shit, I'm convinced you're my long-lost brother. Someone else who likes J-Pop? Zaxby's? Jackie Chan Adventures? Double fries?! You sir, are AWESOME, and awesome people don't skip out on MTN. So you better be there next time. If nothing else, I owe you a Melty Blood match. :3 And if I forgot anyone, I'm terribly sorry- it's late, I'm tired, and my memory's a bit fuzzy. I had a lot of fun today- probably the most fun I've ever had at MTN so far (and I'm not just saying that because I got second). I got to interact with a lot of people this time- most everyone at least once or twice- and I got to play three different fighting games I normally wouldn't have access to (all three of which I desperately want to own copies of now). So until next time, keep the hype up! I can't wait to play everyone at MTN6. ^_^
  18. OMG I think I might be like an hour early this time. Expect to see me there at around 11 guys (if any of you are even there yet). :D
  19. My bad. :P I meant to get some of the videos up tonight (I have over half of them done), but I ended up spending that time practicing. XD Sorry you guys. I'll definitely get the rest of the videos (last MTN AND this coming one) up over the summer, when I have more time to spend on it. Thanks for the patience everyone. Now then, moving along to HYPE- really looking forward to this MTN, especially since it seems like the majority of people who couldn't make it last time are showing up this time. On top of that, I feel more prepared than last tournament for SURE, even though I feel like I'm nowhere close to the top of my game, haha. Here's to hoping I can get more than one Astral this time!... But not because you guys aren't performing well. Get to bed early, get some friendlies in beforehand, etc. I want to earn these Astrals. >:3 See you all tomorrow.
  20. Haha, it's fine Astaroth. I know it doesn't look like it, but that's an hour and a half of work... And his legs still turned out looking like marshmallow ropes. XD I didn't get around to the background (I couldn't find a background with the generic red and white lines and I sure as hell wasn't going to make one), but I figured what I had was enough for the moment, especially with the Gigantic Tager bulge. :3
  21. As much as I'd love to hear some of the ridiculous names everyone would come up with, I don't have it in me to make team sprite edits for everyone. XD Naimat- CAN'T UNSEE. Tager's chest was so hard. ;w; Billy- I lol'd pretty hard.
  22. God damn it Naimat this is your fault. EDIT: Fuck, ignore those random lines. I thought I got rid of those. Also, Gigantic Tager Loincloth is for Tager's Gigantic Tager.
  23. My problem is that I like three out of the four characters who's been announced so far, but I feel like playing any of them will make it seem like I'm going for a particular stereotype for my main. I mean, Ragna falls into the categories of main/rushdown/darkness-wielding, and so do Hyde/Linne/Carmine respectively. I guess I'll just have to say screw the stereotypes and go for whoever I like best (which will probably be whoever's best with combos, haha). Somehow I knew you'd go for the dual-wielding girl, LastStar. :P Ah, so you've been holding out on us, eh Astaroth? :3 What else have you been doing? Dropping Tager for Platinum?
  24. Now I really hope it hits consoles since people actually seem interested in it. I did a little bit of looking around and it seems like there's a Dustloop thread on it already. If you wanted to check it out, it has concept art (albeit small) of the entire roster. Don't wanna lose any respect points... D: If I play you and you use random Billy, I might use random, too. :3 Also, you guys are never gonna believe this. So my mom was getting kind of unhappy with how messy my car's been lately, and made me wash/clean it out a bit today. Guess what I found in my car, behind the passenger's side seat? A brand new copy of Continuum Shift. Of course at first I was like "OMG WTF IS THIS SHIT GOD LOVES ME," but then I remembered when Continuum Shift came out last summer, I bought two copies- one I got on sale over the internet, and one I bought at a local Gamestop because I didn't want to wait. I was planning on returning the one I got in the mail back to the store (they were both Gamestop, so I don't see why it would be a problem) but lost the receipt for the in-store one somewhere in my car. I guess I just slid it in that backseat pocket and forgot about it. XD So maybe I'll get some practice in Friday after all.
  25. It was whichever one you have listed on/for your Dustloop, LastStar. I guess you've got the e-mail by now though. :3 Milln, I'm so glad you aren't forcing this tourney to be randoms. It would have been a bit of fun in the sense that 4 out of 5 of us wouldn't know what the **** we're doing, but I don't think it would be a lot of fun to watch, and Midnight would just annihilate everyone who doesn't get their mains (and even then he'd still probably wipe the floor with everybody). No offense. :P Oh, and have you guys heard about this Under Night In-Birth game? It looks like the shit. If it ever comes to consoles I'll definitely be playing it.
