I just checked and if you're in the corner you don't need to RC the backthrow to combo off it. Backthrow > 2C > j.2A > falling j.2C > 2C > j.2A > IAD j.2A > j.C > 5C gives around 3010 damage. If you're about one screen away from the corner, you can RC your throw or back throw and land a IAD j.2C > 2C > j.2A > IAD j.2A > j.C > 5C for 2.8k. There could be better options, but I'm having execution problems. Playing on stick + new combos is putting me back to the stone age as far as playing ability goes. It looks like that's the best you can get off throw though.

Well, he thinks the CS2 Haku matchup went straight to hell after we played last night. I don't think it's that bad though.

I'm pretty sure you can't combo off grab outside the corner, but there might be some weird freakish way to do it. It won't be practical though.

I keep getting tripped up by the new Renka input and not being able to combo after throw. It's still good in the corner though. Counters are even riskier now and do less damage, but it's good when you have zero stars at least when they give you one. 2D has a much higher bounce that makes the timing a lot different. Gotta get those airdashes down, it's hard to get anything out of Hotaru right now. At least til I get the combos down. It seems like you have actually less time to make something of it in the corner since the wallbounce doesn't keep them in the air as long as the old falling arc did. 6C sending them across the screen lets you do some weird stuff. I actually managed to connect Shippu still. :P It does like no damage though. Shenanigans with 4C is how I'm getting most of my damage right now. That and resorting to tech traps and resets to trick people into giving me more. It's all 1-2k combos so far. I sense that it's going to get harder from here on out once everyone starts mastering their characters and cranks out 5-6k combos while we stay at 2-3k outside the occasional 5C starter. Better bring your A game if you want to win anything. :P

Is it just me, or is the level of play from Haku players in CS2 lower than what we've seen in CS and CT? Am I hallucinating things. Maybe a whole bunch of new players are trying out Haku or something. That's not to say there haven't been some amazing displays too, but then I'm seeing a lot of moments that actually make me think, "Wow, I could do better than this." And I know japanese players are on a different level, but then seeing someone desperately try to randomly Yukikaze a Death Spike or something just makes me wonder what's going on.

Reminds me of how they do it on zetaboards, but it looks confusing too. I liked the way I did it before because you could just go down to the starter you wanted and see the whole combo right there. This way makes it so you have to practically do a math problem every time you want to find a combo... That's just my thought though. Either way it'll work out and I'll still use it to find combos.

If they're mashing out of mixup, you gotta scare them into blocking. Try some frame traps or something... Or just be tricky with stuff like sledge > RC > 2B, stuff to make them unsure of sticking stuff out since you have them off guard.

No way, you don't get stars easier. IB nerf means less heat gain for one, and star gain is slower too.

Neutral game is the part of the match where neither of you have the advantage. You're both trying to jockey for position and land some hits. Think of when the match starts.

First Makoto, now this. Nobody escapes my grasp. Nobody. Anyway, if you want to take a crack at it, go ahead. I just listed it by starter since I figured people would want to see what they could do off each move, and would put together the common strings from just common sense / observation. Plus with all the different starters you have different meter gain and uses and damage... so my head exploded trying to figure out how to convey that all in one batch instead of separately.

I wonder what would happen if you set bursts to infinite in training mode and then just did like 4 gold bursts in a row and then a combo.

I wonder if those 5C combos would still work if you started with j.2C > 5C? 5C wasn't used as much in CS1 but that's because there was less incentive for it, with how much damage you could get off 2A and 2B... I saw it used a lot more in CT, along with j.2C as a starter. And now the combos you can get off 2A and 2B are not as damaging, right? Still, I like just that you can get good damage off 3C, though it looks unlikely.
