n :( I'm working on a paper now that I am way behind on, but maybe later tonight.

I fought Danny last night. I met him at NEC. He's a cool guy. It was funny, I did a double take since his Noel is the same color as yours. :P But he plays so differently. He uses some of the same tech traps. Actually, it wasn't THAT different. At first he barely used the D button at all, and was much more defensive and run away. But as our match went on he started playing more like you. He also kept jumping around trying to bait a move so he could do Noel's aerial distortion but I wasn't having any of that. :P OH, and he did combos that did less damage for some reason. When you hit me it's always almost 5k, but he always did around 3k, and he held onto his meter. Much more conservative. He would also do runup 2B whiff right before my tech, to catch rolls, and to bait a counter on my wakeup. Or at least it baited counters. :P I only played him like 3 times since I was super sleepy, but I want to play him again.

The input for Hotaru and Renka are the same thing, so if your feet touch the ground before you finish it, it turns into Renka. Although it's been helpful as often as not since it keeps them on defense.

Ah, I guess I should do that more often. It's not hard actually. The only thing is, it's not a true reversal (I think) since you still have the jump startup frames where you're vulnerable, unless the neutral tech invincibility covers that. Pretty sure it won't though. Also half the time I go for hotaru from a hop or TK, I get Renka and get killed. :P I don't even try it against Tager anymore half the time because I'll be winning, go for TK Hotaru, and then 99% of the time I'll get Renka and go right into a 720. Whereas if I just kept up what I was doing before I would've been fine.

I thought Renka was +0? I didn't want to get CH. Alright, I'll try more mixup and pressure. Yeah, that corner combo, it was lagging a tiny bit and I kept dropping combos so I just wanted to make sure I scored a corner knockdown so I just ended the combo quickly. What do you do after they block 6B? It's not that hard to block it imo, and once they do you basically give up the initiative. How would you punish drives? Usually just throwing out a move will get me CH before I recover if he tries to drive through it unless I just do a move that he blocks, then stop and watch him do a drive. As opposed to doing a blockstring and seeing a jab go through the startup of 5D, then recovering from it and punishing 5D before the move hits.

Oh yeah you're right. I usually DO use 5B for the corner throw combo. Not sure why I didn't there. I didn't know you could do 5Cx2 off 5B. Neat. I will try that out.

What kind of things? Some of it may have been from lag (so I went for easier to land combos) or screwing up my execution. :P But yeah.

Thanks! That 2C in the corner throw combo actually is supposed to work, it was just lag. What's the double 5C combo? Off 5B CH? O_o That seems strange. I usually do pressure, but her 5D and 2D beat pretty much everything I do. So I've become ultra wary of approaching. It's like she has a protective force field around her. :P I've gotten better at dealing with it though. Yeah, that 5C in the corner was supposed to be Tsubaki... and the corner combo I did could have been better but I didn't want to drop it in the lag and lose the corner oki so I just said screw it and went for a safe easy knockdown. I barely ever use j.D. ;_; I usually rely on 6D and 2D. CT habits die hard. Although it's going back to useless in CS2...

What do you do for pressure / frame traps?

2A / 2B / 5C all lose to her drives. So does 3C for that matter. >_> I was very aggressive in our earlier matches, but if she does a drive and you stuck a move out, goodbye 4-5k health and say hello to the corner. I have to be very cautious. Or do you do it in a way that catches them?
