  1. Is it recommended to fight Tao in the air or ground primarily? I used to have an easy time beating Tao out in the air, but Taos that know what they're doing with drive can pretty much hone in on you at the exact spacing and range that will avoid your attack and CH you into a combo. I feel like that means engaging on the ground might be better, but that means giving up your best air poke... Is there anything new to add to the information Ryoko posted, since Tao's game developed so much since then? For instance, her j.B up close can beat literally everything and force you to block if it's done right.
  2. Ehhh, I wouldn't be so sure... we'll have to wait and see. If I had to bet though I'd say it got worse. Those changes to the characters have to show up somewhere. Our strategy will be the same, it will just be less effective and require more attempts to win, which is what I was getting at. That means they have more chances to keep us out and come back. Ah, yeah, I can see what you're saying about the style changes. I kind of already had that moment in CT > CS. I'll just play him forever. :P (HOS?)
  3. If Hakumen does less damage, then that means he has to get in a lot more... that means Lambda gets a lot more chances to escape. I would expect it to be worse then. It's not like we get zoned the entire match, then finally get in once and finish it like in CS. Meanwhile her average damage got a big boost. That Hakumen in the video (although he didn't seem very good) burned like 6 stars just to get in. That left him only 2 to do anything and then his entire chance was gone.
  4. NO YOU WILL NOT. How could you play him through all of CT but not now. :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f4yz1s55JE#t=2m14s This kind of matchup should look familiar. :P I feel so nostalgic. I'm kind of excited to see how I can handle this.
  5. Arrggghh, now I see why people say Tao is so safe. I played XDest and couldn't do anything at all pretty much. He could just fly around with a small life lead and force me to take risks then zip in and punish, or just fly around and bait things. But he didn't drive around randomly so he would go face first into my sword, which is usually the case, but only did so with purpose, which made it impossible to punish anything or even get an opening.
  6. I usually go for Gurren > 623AA > etc, off 4C CH, unless it's too early in the match or I don't have the stars. Otherwise it's just 6C or 4C again. I almost always end the match with like 8 stars, win or lose, so I might as well. I don't really know of any good Kune matchup vids either... I never really bothered to search them out since, what's the point, I might as well just start pulling out my teeth one by one with a pair of pliers instead if I'm going to play against Arakune. :P There aren't really any good Arakunes I know of to get experience against anyway, except CopperDabbit and MDK sama and Kousaka (in America). There are probably others out there but I haven't heard of them.
  7. ^Sounds like you'd have a hard time against Hakumen. :P
  8. She seemed to have some interesting reactions to Bang.
  9. I'm not. I'm just not sure where you're getting this idea. Sure, he can win the round when he finally gets in, but it's still not some overwhelming force in Tager's favor when he gets in. Bang has strong pressure. Litchi has strong pressure. Carl has strong pressure. Jin and Ragna have good pressure. But Tager? Not compared to those guys. Not even compared to everyone else unless you're counting zoners. You can't make any judgement of quality in this game without it being relative to the rest of the cast. Maybe not terrible pressure, but strong is just stretching it. Maybe I'm underestimating Tager... but I don't think so. It seems like the biggest gripes for Tager is that for a grappler he isn't even very good up close. (It isn't that he has a hard time getting in; a grappler is SUPPOSED to have that as a problem.) I remember Henaki making a lot of points about how a grappler is supposed to be the king of his range, but Tager is lacking, so if he actually had strong pressure then that wouldn't be the case.
  10. > Tager pressure > strong I just can't wrap my mind around this concept.
  11. CT Tager VS CT Arakune? Or CT Rachel or Nu. Or CT Carl.
  12. Dacid just has a "can do" attitude. When Bang got nerfed, a lot of other Bangs were ready to hang themselves but he liked what he saw in the corner capabilities he had. He'd rather try and figure something out than just throw in the towel before the fight even begins. Of course, I agree with everyone that Tager is going to get raped. It is just history and precedent. :P It's not really being negative though or giving up so much as just recognizing fact. It's just par for the course. Also underestimating Arakune ever is a recipe for disaster. It's not like anyone ever goes into a fight against Arakune expecting to have a good match... except Nu players.
  13. Tokido played Bang in CT too if I'm not remembering wrong. He just won by outplaying everyone. I don't think Bang could carry you that far otherwise if you just literally picked up the game yesterday...
  14. I've been using it as an anti air since CT. :<
  15. People understand that, they just have accepted that it comes with the character depending on the luck of the draw. It's different in every game anyway. Unless you play Arakune. :P
  16. Well, I didn't mean it that way... I just mean that playing a top tier character lets you get away with more mistakes and can induce sloppiness in the player, or lets certain skills atrophy. I actually like it when I'm basically forced to be on point at all times or die. So I'm not saying you're a bad player if you play good characters. But it sounds like you were saying the opposite; you can't be a good player WITHOUT playing a good character, whereas a lot of people are just fine accepting the challenge and just see it as another hurdle to beat. It might be harder but it still ultimately comes down to the players, usually. I'd rather put the enjoyment I get from playing a character above just the matchups. For instance, I recall you said yourself once you'd always play Bang, so obviously his contribution to winning a tournament isn't what's making you pick it. If this was CT (or CS2) someone else could be telling you the same stuff you're telling other people about their characters right now. :P
  17. You're talking about winning tournaments with a top tier character. They're talking about being a good player. They overlap a lot, but those two things are not the same thing.
  18. Ahhh, so THAT's what TRM stands for. I kept thinking "total resource management" when I'd see it with Haku and immediately think it referenced his stars and wonder what people were talking about.
  19. What's the stuff you said Haku had taught you?

  20. So did Nu...
  21. lol my exact reaction
  22. Wouldn't be BB without bottom tier Tager.
  23. they're sending me a gift card to buy a new one. i had to mail my 360 to radio shack and i did, not sure if they got it or if it is working out yet but we'll see :P

  24. If you're doing an attack on their wakeup in the first place then it should always be a meaty.
