    I think what they meant is that it would make more sense for Hakumen to be defensive in nature than offensive since his entire drive is oriented around defense (counters), rather than having an offensive character and then giving him a defensive drive.

    What was wrong with that Hakumen? Adventus said he was good. I only stuck around to see him play your Tager though. Man, those Carl crossups... I kept trying to block them as crossups and got hit anyway, so then I tried blocking them normally thinking they were fake crossups and still got hit, then I just had no idea. :v: It's weird though since ZONG tried a ton of those when I was stuck between his Carl and Nirvana at EVO and I blocked pretty much all of them every single time and I wasn't even looking for it. Anyway, I'll try to be on again sometime. The only time I play these days really is when I hang with Shervin and we just do VS mode offline. I miss all my matches with everyone else though.

    Well, I personally will take a character whose play style I enjoy at the price of being low tier over a character that's high tier but boring or a style I don't like. Excellent. I wonder if we should have a "Hakumen general" thread like the Bang forums...

    It's a style buff. I don't get how that even works anyway. The opponent would still see the giant super counter, right? So Hakumen would still be standing there helpless with a giant super counter flashing. Just because the screen isn't blinding you with the distortion background and all that stuff doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to tell, unless you were asleep.

    I played Stickbug's Lambda and he pretty much never used her DP ever. And I was trying to bait it out the whole time too :P He just managed to block well. Although I can't imagine how effective it would be with someone like Bang... Couldn't you still do something like, IB > backdash, or IB > backwards IAD? She seemed fine as it was with it though.

    The difference is now if you burst twice you get stuck with 1 primer instead of 2. 5 > 2 > 1. Before it was 6 > 3 > 2.

    Good games this weekend. Where were those videos you were talking about? I saw some of those replays you saved on Shervin's hard drive. Damn you played a lot. :P I didn't even know IceColdCombo played Hakumen :psyduck:

    Yeah qwerty, I did wonder that, but I figured it was because Japan just hates Hakumen or something, or that he's not as good as people think he is. And yeah I know what you mean about the counters... on top of that they do less damage too so there's less reward. But... I still like doing them They're my favorite part of playing, when you completely read through someone's moves and place just the right counter, or just know what they're going to do. For some people that makes people salty, more than usual. :P

    I think the only way to settle this is to get Axis or some other good Tager to play against Ve and then record it. Then everyone can see what people are talking about that may or may not work.

    Hakumen players are already better than blocking than most players, or at least they should be. >_> His D's already got nerfed (unnecessarily, imo) when CS came around... I don't think it'll make the kind of players thinking of start blocking though.

    I think I figured out what they're trying to do with Hakumen here. Everyone assumed since Haku might be too strong that they would try to rein in his zoning, but they've decided to go all in on it instead. They made his C moves even faster, so his zoning is going to be stronger. At the same time they're giving his specials wallbounce properties to prevent his old combos (except apparently 6C) and his counters are just to knock people off him so he can't get damage off it. Haku will zone you out with tons of pokes but if he hits you with any specials or counters, it won't do that much damage but will give him full screen reset. He won't have that much damage, and he'll be even worse up close, but his zoning is better. He gains stars slower so that means he'll have to be less reliant on his non-C moves too... So basically they want to make him Lambda with a long sword. That's the only sense I can make out of this anyway. If it's not this then I have no idea and they might as well be throwing stuff at a dart board. :P

    Hotaru wallbounce Now I'm just curious what they're going to make him play like. Maybe they'll find some combos after all this. Hotaru sending someone all the way across the screen just sounds funny.
