Also, don't be afraid to just patiently close in on Hakumen. If you want to move in on him you pretty much have to inch your way in, get pushed back, inch in, until I either make a mistake and get hit or I get pushed to the corner where I can't space you out anymore. At that point I'd have to do something riskier to get out or you'd at least be able to get in.

Hmm... how to get better... Let's see... 1) I noticed you tend to either panic or try and beat me to the punch when I'm pressuring you up close. A lot of the time this is going to get you CH into a combo. Just be more patient, and block more. 2) I think you would get a lot out of learning the pressure strings Axis and other Tagers use when they get up close, to keep someone in and stop them from jumping away. Once they're scared and blocking then you can start all kinds of mixups and mindgames. You're on the right track. Maybe I can record a game sometime and you can ask for advice.

Yeah but it's bad advice even for online. Who wants to play in shitty lag or win because it was so laggy their opponent couldn't do anything. If it's that laggy then your tactics won't matter.

^Using a mic is fine on 360. Lags on ps3 though. Also I wouldn't recommend relying on lag tactics :P

Oh right that's when Valk comes out. Definitely! I'm gonna be playing Reach this weekend since I didn't get a chance yet with work and all. I'm not even done the first level :P

IADing out of the corner never works for me; I just eat a DP that predicted the jump out or get frame trapped. Better to just sit tight and block / wait to poke out.

You have to block. That's all you have. And judicious use of counters, poking, and Hotaru. But mostly blocking and waiting for the right time. There's no easy way out, just the old fashioned way.

Is that bad? :P I still like tick throws~ I dunno how much it factored into the anti air usage, but in our other matches and in these I was trying to bait 2C a lot, and if I positioned myself right I could make his 2C whiff and just CH him out of it, or cross him up into a combo. Also: neat idea with j.2A'ing Spark! I never thought of that. The most I was willing to do with Spark was just wait it out or psychic 4C it but that was risky.

I thought it was exciting, not boring. I noticed I could've countered a lot more 5Ds, but at the time I was too terrified of getting CH out of anything :P Also I did try to counter it quite a few times, but the timing changed from CT so I kept hitting it too late or too early or right as he hit me so nothing came out. Gotta hit training mode and get the muscle memory down again. I figured he'd have to do something besides 5D me at some point, since I was just blocking it, so I kept waiting for him to do something I could poke him out of. Of course it didn't always work, and it would have been better to just counter it. :P
