  1. No it can't? You don't know lambda if you think she can be practiced in CT, tons of her moves were changed and her old bnbs that still work do much less damage. Like Jin, she has to use many new bnbs which can't be practiced in CT. I would think that this is obvious, but saying that you've "played" a character doesn't mean that you "know" a character. Especially considering Jin is your main and you think he's a defensive-oriented character when his offense is just as strong.
  2. Ivysaur isn't here and BB got canceled because only I showed up.
  3. I went to last atl revival and the turnout was ugh, I didn't even need to try to win and don't think I lost a round. I won't play carl against ivysaur at this one, I've been honing my hakumen counterpick instead so it could be cool!
  4. Against mashers, instead of allecancel try an IAD kara cancel. If he's mashing jump, you might grab him out of it. If he's mashing backdash, you'll end up adjacent to him for the reset. I know I throw out kara cancels a LOT in this match-up against mashers, lowers the amount I have to think.
  5. Wow, this is pretty creative. Seeing these tricks Carl could always use but were never explored makes me dislike the infinite even more.
  6. 3]D[ works great if you predict they'll roll tech away from you. On a neutral tech use j2C allecancel with it for an unblockable, but it's really hard to time. When I go for the 2]D[ unblockable I like to use 2B with it instead, it's a lot easier to hit people out of roll teching behind you with it than 3C imo.
  7. Carl can be practiced in CT, a lot of the things players do often now could also be done in CT, but no one bothered to explore/use them because of his infinite. A major example is 2]D[ loops.
  8. I'll probably carpool with some friends to get to this. I'm not looking forward to a 4 hour drive though. (georgia btw)
  9. I agree with this so hard. When I go to tournaments, I don't necessarily care about winning, I care about finding the best players there so I can improve my match-up knowledge and hopefully get the local community more hype for BB. Despite only getting into fighters with BB's release I know that my understanding of all fighting games has improved dramatically, and I've made a lot of great friends in the process. If you have the desire to improve yourself, then putting in your best effort and staying focused makes everything fall into place.
  10. I noticed that at that part of the video, when Carl was getting pushed back after the throw break he actually went UP and back, because he had Nirvana activated so it changed his trajectory I assume. So I'm guessing that if a character doesn't have a fast air attack that hits upwardly, Carl's jA will win. I love it, I hope it's not too good to be true!
  11. Dio, the Carl player, is apparently a girl. She entered SBO under the name Tsubaki.
  12. Blazblue is my first serious fighting game and I play Carl. It took a long time to wrap my mind around him but I win or place well in every local tourney I go to now. Without using the infinite, at that. You have to expect to lose a lot with Carl at first, especially if you don't use a stick. His execution barrier is huge.
  13. ooooorrrrr you could go to the training menu and set it so the dummy autobreaks out of purple throws.
  14. Haha, this unblockable setup is awesome. Love the new jB > jC > jB loop shenanigans.
  15. Because girls have cooties!!!
  16. Not sure how I missed this but it's really dumb. Very weird glitch.
  17. I started practicing j2C 2D combos in CT tonight and, man, that combo is SO much fun. It's too bad it's not so useful in this version or I would do it all the time lol.
  18. I've stopped practicing or using throw loops in every match I play [except occasionally in corners]. I just can't do it anymore, I suck at it unless I practice it every day and it really messed me up at Impact Clash (tourney). I play smarter and screw up less without it, plus I wanna prepare for CS!
  19. CT videos go here: http://dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6047
  20. I thought I saw a match where the first hit of 4]D[ whiffed but the second one hit on block and still took a guard primer. I can't think of the video which made me think that off the top of my head though... I'll rewatch vids later.
  21. Art by Andrew Jones done for my favorite musician, Bluetech. I'm a music nut. http://www.androidjones.com/images/road_tour/kind_of_bluetech_web.jpg Sure Kyle, I'd love to play you tonight...lol.
  22. Yup, I'm a huge baddie. I can play tonight if Izzy/Zoogz want to.
  23. I'm feeling the stress to, I'm sure you'll be back to grab looping people in no time You were right, it's easy to get used to the timing for deactivating 8]D[. Nirvana's endurance has drastically improved for me, can't wait to beast people at my next tournament.
