  1. aw dang,I thought the tourney was at 6, not 10. that does suck.
  2. well if the tournies start at 9pm EST and BBCS isn't the very first one, then there's no reason people going to the AWA tourney can't make it to both. I may even give people rides to GT for it, and I'll definitely chip in to watch.
  3. don't you ever have homework? =p I keep trying beer and still have hard time stomaching more than a few sips, but this beer I had over the summer is absolutely phenomenal. If I hadn't known better I would never have guessed it was beer.
  4. completely disagree. when I have to play on xbox controllers with my friends I almost always choose noel because haida loops are easy to execute on pad.
  5. makoto can combo into astral off of almost anything easily and tsubaki is garbage compared to her.
  6. We're gonna hold it in the same room as last time, klaus 1447. See y'all there.
  7. There and back all three days? Why? Can't find somewhere to crash? Platinum the Trinity is the most amazing character I've ever seen. She has fucking neko missiles. I almost want to switch mains again.
  8. no dancing lol. It's an all male acapella choir.
  9. I sent an email to the faculty that controls room reservations so now I have to wait for a response back. I found out something nice for parking though. Apparently permit parking spaces W and E are available for anyone to park at after some time during weekdays, 7 at the latest. Parking lot W is pretty close to the Klaus building and easy to get to. I'm thinking more and more that I'm gonna drop gleeclub because my schedule this semester is just too busy and I don't want to overload. So I'll be at the gathering. I'd feel terrible if I missed it.
  10. Trying to IB > vivace through anyone's pressure carries a very high risk, including makoto. You can't judge Carl's ability to escape her pressure solely on that. He's one of the easier characters for makoto to lock down once she gets in. Of note, however. If you try to reset Carl in a corner with jDLV3 > 6B > 236A on his wake-up, he can vivace B through it completely and I'm 99% sure you can't stop him.
  11. Not yet because I was busy but I did figure out how to reserve it. The good news is that the only building that requires reserves to be from student organizations or what-not is the student center. Every other building including Klaus can be reserved for whatever by whoever. Bad news is I might not be able to go. Glee Club is planning a required retreat to teach everyone, especially new members, the songs. Skipping it would have repercussions in the long run. The only way I'd go is if I dropped glee club, which I might...
  12. I'm kind of surprised that people don't talk often about Mu because she feels like a very solid character. Her pokes are very good, especially her jC which beats most characters in air-to-air. She definitely has advantage vs. Carl and Makoto (and bottom 3) but I don't know much beyond that. IMHO she's A tier at worst, A+ at best.
  13. Okay, so. Atlanta Revival is on the 18th. The BBCS tourney at AWA is on the 17th. Quite convenient :D I really hope to see raph/skeletal minion/etc. at this tournament since they'll be in atlanta anyway.
  14. @farranpoison, I've been playing with Isuyaru a lot offline and I see the match-up as 5-5. Carl has really tight pressure that I have a really hard time escaping, but he can't do jack to escape makoto's pressure either. They both have useful tools against each other in the match-up, I can't see it as being in either character's advantage. j2C is not safe on block unless done from a certain height or as a meaty or something similar. It's not a good aerial in a lot of situations, the momentum changing is nice though. I'm pretty sure parry does not come out on frame 1 from experience. Her jabs are nice but they don't have insane priority, especially compared to a character like Bang who stuffs her jabs all day. Her AA isn't nearly as good as Ragna's, the hitbox isn't even close to as good and it's not as reliable. Her projectile taking off a primer is cool but honestly, no one is going to just sit there and eat it, it's easy to jump over. Big Bang really is ridiculous though. I see makoto being A tier at the highest. She has great damage output, lots of resets, pretty good jabs, crazy good super, etc. But she is very very prone to zoning and her block strings are extremely unsafe against IBing. Bang's 5A/5B give her absolute hell, Litchi and Ragna outpoke her easily, Mu and Lambda's zoning give her a lot of problems. She's a solid character with clear weaknesses, not anywhere near top tier IMO.
  15. Can your apartment be a fallback plan if nothing else comes through, justin?
  16. Tech Rec in the student center. It's more than spacious enough but all the tvs are HD with a little screenlag, I don't know if they let people bring TVs. I don't see why they wouldn't though.
  17. Taoish is in Atlanta and he hasn't come to any of our gatherings yet? This needs to be rectified.
  18. i said friday foo'. that's today.
  19. This match-up feels a lot like tsubaki or noel against tager due to makoto having to get in Tager's face to do anything, never a good idea against grapplers, but feels different from those two because makoto is actually a good character. This match-up is even, not in Tager's advantage. It's all about who adapts to their opponent the fastest by making the most correct guesses. Against 360A happy Tagers, try ending an unsafe normal on block/IB with a Big Bang Smash frame trap to condition them not to. 214C > j2C counterhit will punish it as well, but carries more risk if they guess correctly and hit you with a 2C fatal counter instead. 214A is not a safe option for reseting pressure at all here. Parry is very good for IB punishing Tager's unsafe blockstrings. His 5D while magnetized can be pretty scary but 3C on prediction into 5k+ quickly conditions him to stop.
  20. I've been playing a lot with isuyaru recently and have a couple of observations. For one, Carl's air to air > Makoto. His jA is super good in this match-up and beats all of her aerials unless she's lower. 6A is a very reliable anti-air against him, 2D(LV3) might be really nice too but I need to use it more. I thought that IB > parry would be pretty reliable to get out of pressure but that's not the case at all, Carl's lows and cross-up j2C are too fast/unpredictable and his blockstrings too tight against a good player, IB reversal is better. 3C goes under 6D, it can make for a nice surprise but otherwise you'll just get CH'd. 214AB is a godsend for escaping corner pressure. Otherwise, Carl having no good reversals or defensive options makes pressuring him cake compared to the rest of the cast. I definitely think this is an even match-up.
  21. I can ask judo if we can use his place again. his apartment has a lot of space and there's actual free parking there. I finally brought my xbox to my boyfriend's apartment so I'm planning on leveling up hard. That recently posted makoto video in video posting has greatly inspired me.
  22. That's fine Tim, but if that's the case I probably just won't have it. I ticked off my dad about something yesterday so it might not be such a good idea anyway, hah. I'll still be giving people rides there though, afaik. yeah I was playing Rachel at Tim's on tuesday and did a 50 heat 1 wind combo for a whopping 2k damage. I didn't even realize it until the others pointed it out. I still like her though.
  23. I wasn't the sick one so I'm innocent. And I told you online was awful. I can't play against people I had solid 3 bar connections with in CT anymore because their player rooms restrict 2 and below players from joining. Luckily there's tons of stuff I can explore just with training mode.
  24. Changing something as trivial as tempo can sometimes dramatically alter how one perceives the same song. I thought the same thing at first until I listened to a few and actually really liked how it changed the sound.
