  1. /stealth sage Glad I was able to stop by for the meetup today.
  2. Far as I'm aware you can't fry em. They will disconnect the controller automatically. The cuthulu is really easy to put in a stick anyway and it being solder-less just makes things even easier. Also, (and I know this is going to sound like a no-brainer) don't use magnetic screwdrivers at any time. Took 5 dead pcbs for me to learn that lesson.
  3. Well, if you happen to have hobby-shop equipment already (or a friend/relative who does) then building your own is a little less of a pain. The big squeeze on the wallet really comes from the tools. But yeah, building your own is pretty expensive and difficult when you first do one so it's better to not risk the waste. Get a TE and be a happy family. Also, LL restocked on Sanwa sticks just now. Get em while they exist.
  4. Got to mess with MvC at Frys today. Mostly with team butt-butt. >.> 4 buttons on the stick done. /tekken status. edit: DONE Just need start select home and then wire it up.
  5. I kept my expectations low (and they kinda still are) so don't feel like you're alone on not liking MvC3. In other news, my case came in and I got the drilling done for the joystick and 2 buttons.
  6. Milking? Nah, this is standard procedure. The dlc characters are when it gets hot.
  7. It would be sanwa/semitsu parts. Depending on the stick/buttons it would probably be around $100-ish. Also, 40 minutes of Melty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ze83pbslWY
  8. I could hook you up with a charming plastick if you wanted. :y (not my older ones more like the new model I'm building right now)
  9. Quadra-postfo When I get a shot at melty I'll probably mess around with maids. All maids. ALL DEM MAIDS. Also, I've been watching MvC3 vids for some bizarre reason. I don't even like it a lot. ....but I will play it.
  10. Got my parts in today! Who needs Valentines? I'm more hype for some Fat Tuesday.
  11. Not when you go and find some poverty cases!
  12. 2 for 1 offers go fast
  13. I cut myself like 8 times modding mine. Folks like us gotta save others, right? I'd say just buy a TE and stick with it if you have no knowledge/interest in learning how to mod. If you do for some reason feel tempted to mod a stick, I'd say it's better if you build your own (get dual mods/PS360 pcb). Other than that, the modding process is not as simple as one would think even for buttons on cheap sticks. Like others have said, sanwa/semitsu parts are far more responsive than the cheap-o parts. If you're doing decent on a FS3 a high quality stick will make things easier on your wrists, fingers, and your play in general.
  14. Finally got a joystick and some other parts ordered today. LL is always out of Sanwa sticks so I got an LS-32. Other items include an aluminum bat top, transparent buttons, some wiring jazz and a gun case. I'll be making something like the link below if all goes well. And it'll look pretty.
  15. No. Appreciate you always asking though.
  16. For everyone looking forward to the meetup... don't look outside. I mean, not that I can come anyway. Just sayin':8/:
  17. I feel your pain. That was my first mod too. T-T
  18. DAMN IT I LOVE MELTY! I REALLY WANNA GO! I swear, the system is so simple and fair yet amazingly fun. Also, nearly everyone's BnB is Anything > Launcher (6C usually?) > j.b > j.c > j.b > j.c > throw.
  19. /me still can't come Also, the hit box is being stalled like hell since I can't find a good way to measure the holes. I'll try getting some parts and just make a new Plastick.
  20. While the knowledge IS nice to have, it's defiantly not worth the money. A more worthwhile venture would be something like dual modding or a project box stick imo. Unless you already have power tools and soldering equipment, the costs start to pile on fast. I'm speaking from experience. -_-
  21. 1. You could try the program Xtra recommended or X-Padder or Joy2key. You could also try changing the small switch on your TE to the Right/Left Stick inputs as opposed to the D-Pad. 2. That's a rather odd one. Perhaps update your graphics card?
  22. For real? So the clone doesn't count as like some free as hell cross-up city and the 2AAAA- just kept him super safe? Also, I'm hype over some Secret of Mana instead of watching more AH3.
  23. I found it dad
  24. Yes, that's what I saw more or less. I can't find the video though.
