Funny thing, I might be able to go to this. I guess now is as good a time as any to say this but after a lot of bs that's happened this week, I can't go to any meetups until they get hosted in "public areas." I could write a book on the reasons for this, so I'm not. So if I'll be doing anything, it'll be scouting for people to come to the meetups at least. Also, if I get a hold of the Umineko game we can do netplay. OH SHIT SKIRT MISSILES! (Celia) I'm defiantly in on this.

Did you guys do the blocking practice thing? How did that go?

Kira is the main grappler. Her and Cathy have air command grabs iirc.

Hi~~~ @Mightfo Yes, the no joystick thing. It's going a bit slower than I though and turns out I need more small things, but I'll try to have it done by friday. I should be able to go with some smooth talking but we'll see... @Oso Actually, I /think/ the MvC stick should work on the PS3 at this point. There was a firmware update that killed a lot of old 3rd party controllers but I guess those would be ok for now... and yes, I know I'm way too late on putting that info in. Aaaaa, why post so much while I'm not checking this thread!? ;-;

Just an update on the stick. I finally got my cuthulu in today so I'll be working on that. If all goes well it should be done by friday~

Nope. D: Also, it seems you didn't see my semi-consistent blocking of Suppa's Litchi mix-up at your place. :y By "play" I mostly mean I know crap. What's an overhead/low, how to do combos/hit-confirming ect. Sure I can read about it, but I can't learn anything through my own experiences aside from guessing what's going to happen on a match on youtube. Also, super cheap way to record is to get an easycap. They're like $20 but be careful of fake ones floating around.

It all depends on your character and preference. I use B layout because Drive is important for Lambda. Not so much for Haku though so I'd stick with A.

not that I can think of. In the corner you can sometimes do a sneaky 214D to catch forward/back rolls but not much else.

You're right about the pinky thing. It's hard to use it for anything unless you're like super dexterity man or something. What I do is keep my hand raised above all the buttons. This is really important for Sanwas because of how sensitive they are. I tend to not use my thump at all as it tends to get in the way (large hands). Instead, I position my index, middle and ring finger in one of two positions. Note I play Type-B layout. Position: 1 | 2 Index: D | A Middle: A | B Ring: B | C Pos 1 gives me solo access to my drive, barrier, ect. Pos 2 for throws, rapids, 5C > 236B and such. It takes very little time to switch between positions and because I don't have to think about my thumb, I feel like I'm able to react faster. Also, stick with square imo. Especially if you're sticking with hakumen.

Sure thing. I'll be bringing it to meetups all the time for people to try/rage at. Once I get enough money for an old 360 controller it'll work on there. Till then I'm trying another $8 Pc controller. Hopfully I don't screw up with drilling the holes...

Exams: DONE. Today's Objectives: Eat, Play osu!, Play LoL, MEETUPS!, get parts for a HitBox. The roboner is ready.

The PS3 TEs only work with computers with Intel processing. Excluding the Chun-Li one that came out. They improved the pcb on that one so it works with AMD or whatever else. If your SE isn't working did you try changing the input switch around? You know D-Pad / Right-Analog / Left Analog.

Planning on both! Can't wait to scrub it up. Btw mightfo, I was going to order some parts I needed. Is it cool if I send em to you and pick them up Friday? (assuming they'll be in by then)

If anyone's used keyboards/keysticks in the past, some guys on srk recently posted some info on a project called HitBox. It looks really interesting and I'm going to try it out myself when I get money to make one. Might be a good tool for someone who hasn't used a traditional stick yet and wants to gain the advantages of a HitBox which are explained in the thread. Link
