I messed around with Lucifer a bit. Probably going to go with her, Siesta, Eva, and Virglia and see what works. Oh, fun fact about Luci's 214. Since it sets you air-born on whiff/hit (I think on block too) but you can use an air normal or another 214 do create some interesting situations and hit some air techs.

Snap-ins tend to just wear down a bit because the small things on the side eventually get pushed into the button. You can "fix" it by removing the top part with a screwdriver and just push them back out. As for the buttons feeling stiff, there may be something stuck inside. Do as I said just before and just blow air in them or something and test the spring with your finger. There could also be something getting in the way of the button (a wire ect.) you never know.

Funny. I compare them to SF in a lot of ways as far as you've got far/close variants of moves as well Forward/Back - Neutral Jumping normals. Also, I'll probably just get the crappy pad I see at Frys so I can mess around more. The HitBox is still coming but damn I still can't find a proper container for the life of me. ;-; Also, Happy 2011 - WE DIDN'T IMPLODE YET!

You could always go with a madcatz SE stick if you want a general feel, though if you end up feeling a stick is right for you, you'll either end up needing to mod the SE or spend the $100 anyway. Learning stick is a commitment but it's not as hard as you might think. No different from learning to ride a bike really. Really, if you throw down the money, you sort of force yourself to learn it anyway, right?

Just in case anyone is wondering, the game works with AMD processing. Got kinda concerned when I only saw Intel on the specs list...

From what I saw it seems Battler has some simple meaty options as well as solid anti-air game. Shannon has a blanket attack that looks pretty good (someone on SRK said it seems like an anti-air option too but I'm not sure). Computer Lucifer threw out a lot of 2A-like moves (her hair pokes out or w/e) and the guy couldn't do much about it. Ange can summon the bear-thing and other summons at the same time. Speaking of the bear, you have to tell it when to attack. It will follow you till you do. Edit: Oh sweet, more steaming goodness!

7:28 - Looks like 5B is air unblockable now too. Lots of solid ways to stop jump outs on Lambdas fairly weak block stings.

I don't think there's anything easy to find with quality parts these days. The should be modders in the Texas area that could give you a price range of about $150 I'm sure. Probably check SRK Tech Talk for more info.
