Not to spam or anything, but Soniti's EVO GG tounament matches made SRK's front page: http://shoryuken.com/2011/08/20/evo-2011-guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-replays/ It is great to see GG getting more exposure, especially on a Capcom/SF (<3) centric-site <3 Thanks again for uploading, Soniti, and looking forwward to more in the future, when you have time.

Last year's Seasons Beatings was GDLK, and the GG casuals+tournaments were some of the most fun I have have ever experienced (SO MANY strong players were there, and we played casuals until 2:00AM :O). If any GG player is on the fence about going to SB's for the first time, they should go and will not be disappointed-- especially if it is anything like last year... It just sucks that GG's tournament cannot be run in the (bigger)room where it was last year, but hopefully, it can run in one of the bigger karaoke rooms or casual areas. More GG players should try to make it out, if work+school permits and get HYPE-- if GG at EVO got 80+ players, then I KNOW that GG at SB's can get great numbers as usual <3 I would love to go, but just had EVO off+workXschool, so IDK...

Sadly, then it must have been reported to the wrong person. If SOMEHOW, it was reported to me (because Ky-Sama certainly was unaware that Zeero won until many matches later, and she was the main person running the bracket, while I was calling, finding players and watching as many matches as possible), then I must have been very distracted, dealing with other results, texting/calling players or reporting other matches. Regardless, sorry about the confusion, and at least top 8 finished accurately, for the most part. I know that you and other players were very good at reporting your matches (even during teams), so we would never blame you for the confusion. Again, sorry about the confusion... Congrats and we look forward to seeing more of your matches uploaded <3
-
It is no rush; as long as you uploaded ANY at all, should be good enough for now. Please let me or Ky-Sama know if we can help you sort things out/tell who was who in the videos... LOL, some people were jumping on to play casuals, even when they KNEW they had tournament matches/that the TV was for note-worthy matches/finals, only :O I am just sorry that I was too busy to record anything/we left our Tripod stand at home... Thanbks again for doing that <3

Soniti was kind enough to capture various matches (mainly note-worthy matches/highest-level play) to his Youtube channel; last time I checked, these are the only ones that he uploaded so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVKZMVLHktM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjv4x...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u23M5...eature=related Please continue to check back for more; he captured A LOT of footage. Thanks again, Soniti <3

LOL, until you said it, I never truly realized that being a TO is a thankless job, but it is fine by me, as long as the majority of the players had fun^_^ I appreciate you trying to help, and your advice certainly will help if we choose to/are allowed to run any more tournaments in the future (TBH, I WANT TO in the future, but will we be allowed to, and will the GG community ever trust us again?)... However, I would like to explain some things, regarding your post: 1. It was planned for 3:00PM more than a month ago, because after going to many GG tournaments in the past (FR 13 & 14, SB's, 3 EVO's mainly for GG, Revelations and others), GG tournaments usually start on Saturday afternoon or at noon, so because running & finishing singles on Saturday would be impossible, we wanted to start it later in the afternoon on Friday, which was not a good idea... I agree 100% when you say that it should have been at noon or 1:00PM, but we were afraid that no one would show up that early, especially since some people tend to arrive on Friday morning... We also did not expect to exceed a 64-man bracket... 2. We actually did do pre-registration in our thread, which is how we pre-seeded/created the bracket before leaving for EVO. But regardless, it should have been more organized and we should have known that since we had more than 60 people pre-registered, we would have even more after in-person sign-ups... 3. Yes, great idea. 4. You are correct, and so many lessons were learned...Sorry about that. It kind of hurt to DQ people (even though in the thread, it said that if a player failed to show up within 10 minutes of being called for his/her match, then he/she will be DQed), which is why they were given a "loss" first, but I cannot argue with anything that you said-- you know a lot more than I/we do... 5. We do not own a Laptop, but we should have asked someone earlier, that would have made things much easier for everyone... Again, thank you so much for your advice. It is still sad that some had a negative experience, but TBH, EVO was not all that great for Ky-Sama & I, either. We played about 2 casuals, played like GARBAGE during the team tournament, missed a lot of friends, were starving until Sunday, Got 1-4 hours of sleep, and missed the chance to play UMvC3+much more....But as long as most people had fun (if not, during casuals) and made the most of their EVO, then I am happy...We just went to EVO solely to support GG and to give every player the chance to be part of one of the biggest EVO GG tournaments. I honestly did not believe it would be this hard, but it was our first time, and we promise to do better, next time <3

It was nice to see most of you guys at EVO, but SO SORRY about not recognizing most of you (being legally-blind and getting no sleep do not excuse that)....Had no idea that so many of you cut your hair:( Also sorry about the issues with the GG tournament, but I hear you guys did well in the BB tournament+GG casuals-- great job <3 Hopefully, we can all get together and play GG/MvC3, etc soon-ish. -
I thank everyone who entered the GGXX: AC side tournaments at EVO and congrats to the winners (RF, Elvenshadow, AKA, Hellmonkey, Marline Pie, etc.). Obviously, many things went wrong and I understand that some are angry, but if Ky-Sama & I ever get the chance/honor to do it again (or at least help a great bit), I am certain that things will be A LOT BETTER, and with many back-up plans in place. I also thank those of you who helped us with calling/finding people, using the laptop, etc... I was the female HOS player/"twin". For the first time in nearly 2 years, I saw a HUGE GG crowd (around 100 people!), and it was such a great feeling...to see SO MANY people getting together, waiting for casuals, watching, cheering and getting hype in general-- for a supposed "dead" game! I know EVO is big, but I have not seen numbers like that in a while-- not even last year. LOL, you know there were a lot of people when the EVO staff+UFC TO's were complaining about us being too close to their set-ups, etc <3 <3 Also a BIG THANKS to the gentlemen at the Broken Tier booth for creating more hype by allowing us to set up near/at their booth! Sanoshi: Thank you soooo much for allowing us to use your laptop for singles <3 Also thanks a lot for helping call people^_^ I wish we could have hung out, and you should be happy that we did not team up (we played awfully...). I hope we will meet again, soon <3 Hellmonkey: Thank you for helping with teams and being so patient+kind <3 Congrats, and I hope you had fun with your prize money... Jo: Sorry that my HOS failed you.... but great job during singles, I hope you had fun in Vegas <3 Polyfreeze: Thank you for bringing a set-up and being helpful in general. You were so uncertain about entering your first tournament, yet you did A LOT better than you thought. Your Axel has a lot of potential, take advantage of it! Elvenshadow: Thank you for the great matches; I was very nervous to play you...Your Faust is GDLK and congrats on your placement. You were also very kind and chill^_^ Shtkn: Thanks for trying to help, and nice seeing you again^_^ Wish I could have played that awesome Ky <3 Honnou: It was nice to meet you, wish we could have played, but congrats placing so high in teams^_^ The ABA Player in casuals: Thanks for the great matches, your ABA is GDLK, but sorry about being so auto-pilot, I was tired... Congrats on placing so high during teams^_^ PhaethonH: GG's in casuals, even though your May made me angry:( You seem like such a nice guy Scott Thank you for being so kind and being concerned about the tournament, I saw that business was great at the booth <3 Mike Z: Nice seeing you again, thanks for entering! FRC Flying Johnny: Even though I hate Johnny, it was nice to see you again, and thanks for the talk...it made us feel a bit better-- come to AZ someday <3 Teyah: It was nice meeting you...sorry about what happened, and great job in Marvel <3 Sorry about being so weird, very shy. I would have loved to play (even though you use Eddie), but I had no time. The Canadians: So sorry about how things went with the GG tournament...You guys have no idea how awful I feel for you guys. But I hope you had fun in the USA, and did great in BB+other games. Take care, guys <3 BlueNINE: Sorry about being a jerk, just trolling, and great job leveling up <3 Marlin Pie: Sorry about what happened during teams, and it was nice seeing you again-- stay GDLK <3 <3 The kind Canadian who donated most of the $300.00 pot bonus: Everyone is very grateful towards you, and your donation did EXACTLY what you wanted it to do; it created more hype, drew in more players (even Japanese) and made GG look like much more than a mere "side event" <3 Thank you so much! Everyone else that I played/met: GG's, even though I played only 2-3 people outside of tournament matches. It was nice seeing everyone again, and I hope that all of you will continue to play GG (we had RF, the SBO champion, as well as many strong, OG players)-- GG is still hot and there is hope for it, as long as we support it <3

IIRC, Soniti did record the top 8, some casuals+MM's, as well as most of the team tournament. He was kind enough to do this, so please give him some time to process and upload them <3 Sorry, but I was too busy to record anything this time:(

Please learn the entire story before posting. I am very sorry that you had to wait, and eventually drop out, but we told you that because you signed up in person, yours were one of the LAST matches to be played, and you also had many byes and were waiting on matches, sadly....Again, very sorry about that. Ky-Sama and I went to set up the tournament at around 1:00PM-1:30PM, but there was only 1 set up, so we had to get our TV from our room and wait for the others to arrive and bring their TV's (NOT blaming them at all-- them bringing set-ups helped save the tournament). So we finally had 4 GG set-ups going at around 2:00PM-2:30PM and MORE players were showing up at around 3:00PM (before then, only 10-15 players were there, IIRC). By the time we were collecting money and signing up people, AT LEAST 80 people had showed up and were playing casuals, so we wantd to try to give them a chance to practice/play casuals before starting the tournament-- ESPECIALLY since we had only 4 set-ups.... By the time the 70th person signed up, we had to find a laptop to run the tournament using Tio-- because many people were telling us to NOT do pools. I totally blame us for not having enough time to print a bracket that is bigger than 64-man, but we had NO IDEA that nearly 90 PLAYERS would enter...But regardless, my heart bleeds for the players who had to wait too long to play and dropped out/DQed due to delays, not being around for hours, etc... Even Latif was sent to losers for not showing up, sadly. By the time we obtained a laptop (thanks to Sanoshi), it was around 3:30PM, so we TRIED TO manually seed 64-70 of more than 80 players. However, people were still signing up, as we were seeding/creating the bracket. Of course, the tournament started MUCH later than it was planned, but IMHO, probably the biggest reasons for delays were: 1. TOO MANY byes in the bracket, due to the number of entrants, size of the bracket 2. BB teams running at the same time (could not be helped) 3. Certain players holding up the tournament-- actually A LOT of them were gone for 2-3 hours 4. Bad reporting and many did not report their matches-- people who were helping us with the tournament sent some to losers/tried to DQ them without the permission of Ky-Sama or me, so that made things even more messed up. However, they were only trying to help, and I am very grateful for their help 5. Too many players waiting on matches-- due to people not showing up/holding up the tournament .................. I know that it could have ran better, and Ky-Sama & I were responsible than that. However, it was our first time doing it ourselves (at least the 64-man bracket was pre-made/seeded a week ago), and we asked people for help, but VERY FEW offered to help (not that it is their responsiblity to do so), so we did the best we could. Teams ran A LOT better than singles, but ended up running late.... Ky-Sama & I+others decided it would be BEST to finish singles on Saturday afternoon, because by 10:30PM, many players had been gone for hours, even after being called & texted many times, and the BYOC area was being closed, anyway. However, on Saturday afternoon/evening, practically every GG player was either in Marvel pools (including us), or BB singles and/or teams (which also resumed on Saturday, IIRC), so teams ran a bit late, but finished within a few hours, thankfully. Again, I am very sorry for everyone whose matches were delayed, had to be DQed, dropped out, etc, etc and I understand that some are angry... All we wanted to do was to step up to help create a hype and positive GG experience at EVO and get everyone together to have fun... So many people came from Canada, etc and I feel bad that their EVO GG experience was not better...

That is disappointing...Would it help if they play their matches early (the first 4-8 players) or later? If they want, we can make sure that they play their first matches later/delay them, since so many people are signed up. Please let us know ASAP, because the tentative BRACKET is being created RIGHT NOW. Thank you <3

As posted earlier, BB pools are on Saturday, not Friday (sorry, not trying to be rude), but if you still want to start it at 3:00PM on Friday, then it will start at the EXACT same time as the GGXX AC singles........ IMO, it would be better to start them at different times, since a lot of people who are entering GG also play BB, as well:O -

Not certain about this year, but IIRC, the EVO finals usually end at around 10:00PM-11:00PM, but not certain if this year will be different. Also, there are 2 free slots in my car, so if anyone (preferrably from the Chandler or Gilbert areas) needs a ride for EVO, please let me or Ky-Sama know a week/few days in advance. Also, not that I am important, but it would be great to play games tomorrow, but I just remembered that tomorrow is my last day off until EVO, and I have a car appointment:( Good to know that you guys are grinding for EVO, have fun... -

The Travelodge is about 1 mile away from the Rio and costs $88.00-$100.00 per night; Extended Stay is 0.28 miles away from The Rio and costs $60.00 per night. There is also the Super 8, which costs $67.00 per night, but it is about 1 1/3 miles away from the Rio... However, I am not certain about the availablity, but hopefully, there are some rooms left:0 -
Mac:( Please ask around in the EVO2K forum (like so many others are...everyday, LOL), at SRK, or you can stay at the Gold Coast. IIRC, the rooms are of decent quality, and it is NEXT to the Rio-- I promise; you can easily see it from the Rio's parking lot, and many EVO competitors are staying there already^_^ Sadly, our TV does not support that, but perhaps Sanoshi's CRT may...? Also, no mic, either...However, I would LOVE to see this happen, and thank you for offering to help <3 RaptorIIC: Thank you for coming, all of you have been added to the list, have a safe trip. Edit: Added "Kobesama". If it is not a problem, everyone who is offering to bring consoles/set-ups in encouraged to do so AT LEAST an hour before the tournament starts; especially since we need at least 3 set-ups to run singles in a timely manner and ALSO to get casuals in before/during the tournament. In-person sign-ups will start at around 2:00PM on Friday, but people are still encouraged to pre-register, in order to save time and hopefully start teams later that evening. Thank you.
-
I know that no one likes "early" tournaments, but it always takes everyone a while to show up/sign-up, so if we want to sucessfully run TWO tournaments, we need to make it earlier, like they did at Seasons Beatings (noon, IIRC). You are correct, the schedule will not be released until a week before, which is why we are tentatively saying 1PM or 2PM-- just to give everyone an idea. Also, most of the time, GG tournaments take place on Saturdays (which the community seems to prefer, IMO), and I assume that most of us will be in Friday pools, anyway (SSF4, MvC3? On the SRK podcast, they said due to MvC3 & SSF4's expected numbers, they will run on Friday, most likely)... Thank you so much, updated <3 Ray: Do you want me to put you down for teams as well??
-
^ LOL, you guys should make it round-robin, to see which "old man" can keep up the longest, JK... On a serious note, we are thinking of starting the SINGLES TOURNAMENT at 1:00PM or 2:00PM, on Saturday (which might be on the same day as BBCS2, and IIRC BB & GG have ran on the same days/back-to-back at VARIOUS tournaments, including majors), to allow people to show up before it becomes later in the afternoon/to allow enough time for teams to run and finish before the venue closes. However, because some people will bring their own TVs (including us), we can finish teams in someone's room, if we HAVE TO... Please let me know if any of this is a problem, again, I/we will let the EVO staff know so that they will not turn off the TVs like they did last year <3
