I don't remember how he set it up but I seriously thought that 5C would have enough reach to hit him out of it, dead wrong lol.
-
I got hit by that shit because I didn't do dashing 5C with Jin to stop him, I simply did 5C and I was a few pixels away from hitting him. Felt bad, man lol.
-
I'll give you a few pointers as a consolation gift lol: - If you're in the corner, be aware of Jin's 5B vacuum cross-up. You got hit by that way too often. - Don't push buttons against Jin unless you blocked 2D or 6A, he thrives off his frame traps. As for Plat, I don't know what to tell you. I'm winning the neutral game with the help of 2B, j.C and various items. You could always Itsuu the bombs and the missiles but then you'd have to guess from what angle I'll be approaching you afterwards lol. You at least used All-Green where it counts from time to time, mainly against the Kitty but you should use it against the missiles too. Relius is just a horrible character. Sure his 2B and 5B are pretty decent but he doesn't get shit out of them. You in the other hand, get a nice combo on CH.
-
I don't know mang, you should be proud of me for learning how to block that distinctive ass OH lol. @Litherain - what's rusty?
-
Well he did RQ a lot and he wasn't as good as he claimed to be. Haven't seen his ass in netplay in a minute. GGs Star, I've officially overcome my vulnerability to 4D lol. Also, I'm dropping Relius. That summon/withdraw, get hit, re-summon shit gets old fast. I'd rather do real mix-up with Plat as opposed to that 3C > 2D + JC > empty jump mix-up lololol.
-
lol, how do I waifu?
-
Count me in, gonna try my day 1 Relius on you lol
-
You could always condition them into not rolling backwards by punishing those rolls. I've been messing around with him for the past few hours and he's a ton of fun. I'll be subbing him along with Plat in the near future.
-
Nggggh, I have the sudden urge to learn how to play Relius now. I'll just have to do poor man's empty jump mix-up to try and open people up lmao.
-
Yeah, talk to those two and see what we can get. I play Jin by the book so I don't know of stuff like fuzzy guards or some obscure reset setups.
-
I got the short end of the stick since I don't play any of the heavy zoner characters. Plat does make him cry with her pressure, mix-up, and oki though. I have to get in though and that means dancing with death itself if I slip even once lol. @Chaz - good stuff on covering his various weaknesses. I hope a few of those wishes come true in the next game. I'd learn how to play him but I got my hands full with Jin and specially Plat, I also want to learn how to play Phantom/Nine if/once she is made playable. I like her psycho bitch character and I'm hoping that they can come up with something interesting using her magic.

^^ This Ah, how I love my air bat. Good screen carriage on CH, good for stuffing a lot of crap on reaction.
-
I wonder what they can do to make Relius better. From what I've seen, his biggest weakness is that Ignis disappears whenever he/she gets hit or if he/you tech a grab. That which in turn makes her meter refill slower for a limited time. He also has to find an opening to summon/withdraw her every single time. For one, they can make it so that she doesn't disappear after teching a grab. Secondly, I guess they can reduce the refill penalty. Third, it wouldn't hurt to give him better combo options sans Ignis. He's pretty much fucked without Ignis lol. Edit: > Ragna > Solid pressure comparable to Litchi lulz

PSN - Danisen League Battle #3 - Friday, June 1st - [COMPLETED]

Man, I can't understand these people that get so hung up on losing matches. IT'S JUST A GAME, nothing at stake, nothing to lose but a "rank" that hardly anyone cares about. The whole point of these leagues is to manage people into their respective skill levels, play against said people, and just have a good time overall. Anything beyond that is just nitpicking. -
That's just a fragment of part 3. You could do that but you'd still need to work on the pressure, frame traps, oki, and the other types of mix-up.
-
Where do you live at? I try to only play people who I have good connections with. Star and I have a 3 and it's usually pretty smooth.
-
Nope, I was slipping hard, a win is a win lol.
-
lol, Bat is kewl GGs, you finally took one off me. If only I hadn't dropped that Gold Burst > Supper Hammer combo, in fact, I was dropping a lot of shit today lol.
-
That's cool, we'll play until you start giving up lol.
-
I pretty much have to make it the entire day without sleeping. Haven't pulled an all-nighter since two semesters ago so this will be an interesting day lol. I just got back, games?
-
Dayum, time to pick another character lol. You can't be a fraud if you were never good to begin with. Fraud = top-tier characters losing to bottom tier characters or a person that everyone praises beating on and losing to low level players. Tager doesn't apply to the former because he's silly luck mode. Ah don't mind me, this is just me running on 0 sleep. I'm trying to reset my biological clock by being so fucking tired and forcing myself to sleep at 12AM later on. I'll play when I get back from dropping the girls off at school.

I'm gonna start working on the tutorial right now using a format based on the feedback from the thread: Part 1: Basics Character Summary: General Info - Health, Guard Primers, Guard Primer Breaking Moves, Air Options (2 Jumps/1 Jump + Air Dash), Drive summary. A still picture displaying all of that info. Move Set - normals, Drives, specials, EX specials, Counter Assault, supers, and Astral. Gameplay Info - Drive Usage (introduction to resets), General Strategy, and Pros/Cons. Part 2: Combos I'll let Shin handle this one and if not, then the template I would use looks like... Combos: Beginner Combos - universal BnBs, mid-screen and corner combos. Intermediate Combos - character specific BnBs, mid-screen, close to the corner, and in the corner combos. Advanced Combos - all of above using the more difficult links such as DP C > 5B or 214A > DC > 44 2C. Meter Dependent Combos: Beginner Combos - universal BnBs, mid-screen and corner combos. Intermediate Combos - character specific BnBs, mid-screen, close to the corner, and in the corner combos. Advanced Combos - all of above using the more difficult links such as DP C > 5B or 214A > DC > 44 2C. I'd probably just showcase combos from traditional starters such as 2A (Ground and AA), 6A (CH/RC), j.A, 2B, 5B and 5B(1) CH, j.B (Ground and AA), 2C FC, 5C (Ground and AA) and 5C CH, j.C (Ground and AA), j.2C, 2D, j.D, j.236A/B/D, DP A/B/C/D. Part 3: Opening People Up [*]Pressure and Frame Traps - common pressure and common frame traps. [*]Okizeme - 66 2A, DP C > safe jump j.2C, 214A > safe jump sj.2C. [*]Basic Mix-up - basic high/low/cross-ups, resets, 6B/throw shenanigans. [*]Advanced Mix-up - IAD j.236D cross-up/feint, corner oki cross-up/cross-under mix-up, 6D/236D empty jump mix-up, and fuzzy guard setups. [*]Gimmicky Mix-up - 6B > RC > AD stuff, 214A/B/C > RC > stuff, DP D (1) Unblockable setup. So I'll go ahead and work on part 1, should be done by the end of today. I'm gonna need some help on part 3, mainly the oki corner mix-up, and fuzzy guard setups. I don't know a single fuzzy guard setup with Jin lol. Edit: Shin says that he's done with Part 1, that and his recording equipment is better than mine so I'll let him handle the rest lol.

Wanna play a FT5 while we wait? I mean I already switched TVs and everything and it's a hassle to unplug/unplug HDMI cables lol. -

I don't see Zeth online so I guess it's not happening due to the aforementioned reasons. Oh well, back to FFXIII-2 I go, hope it doesn't kill my PS3 again lol. -
^^ Pretty much this. That Relius was pretty damn spot on. He reacted to every jump in with his 2C, so you'd probably need to bait those more like you did that one time with j.236B > AD > j.2C > j.D stuff. Again, that 5B > 6B failed hit-confirm was pretty bad, that would have set the momentum for you. I'm also iffy on that 2D > stuff > reset attempt, should have finished your combo for the Heat gain and corner carriage. I haven't played any good Relius' so I can't really comment on the match-up. I just know that if he does that move where he has Ignis teleport behind you and you IB it, you can stuff his approach with 5B(1) CH or maybe even 5C.
