  1. Hey mang, my connection is godlike (as long as no one is using the internet at the moment I'm playing).
  2. Oh well, I can do without story mode for now. I just can't wait until next year to get the damn game D:
  3. Holy hell, BB:CP is only $68 on PlayAsia. Guess I'll have to import it. Question though, did the Japanese version of CSE have English subtitles for story mode? If not then oh well, that's pretty much the only mode that interests me aside from the usual three modes (training, versus, netplay) so it won't be much of a loss.
  4. Hahah, I always forget that Haku's backdash isn't invulnerable at all
  5. Only one way to find out Meh, I just GB the UB if I still have my Burst. Other than that, there's not really much you can do against a well-spaced, well-timed UB. You might try and back dash it as a last resort option but good luck timing that and not getting caught by one of the four active frames. Personally, if I had to choose between an UB that requires character specific meter or a command throw that's available at any time, I'd go with the command throw. Not that it matters since Plat has both of them, even though the command throw has a laughably long start-up and the UB is limited to two uses, requires luck of the draw to get it as well as 50 Heat
  6. Yeah, that command grab is going to make a world of difference. Sure it does crap damage but you're forcing your opponent to either jump out or get grabbed and that's where the 5A staggers truly shine as they tag people jumping/mashing out. If only Plat's command throw didn't have a 24F start-up + the amount of frames that it takes her to get to the opponent... orz
  7. lol Errol, just drop Tsubaki already and wait for CP.
  8. Yeah, you can freeze with the first hit, land, and do 6C > 214B > Stuff if you haven't already used 214B. If not you can always do 6C > 22C > Stuff. From what I've seen, it's more of a match ender than anything. I'd rather use the meter for a 6C > CT early in the combo for huge damage.
  9. It's okay, I've played my share of Hakumens, so I know from experience what that feels like. Too far to run up and grab him, only option is to try and poke him during recovery but what's this, I'm a frame too late with my punish and he punished my punish with another counter? FML
  10. What's that, two counters in a row? Nigga must be mashing... Nah, that's just Hakumen being Hakumen, he threw out an extra D in order to punish your poorly timed punish to his other D. Or maybe, just maybe, he really is just mashing D. Aww shit, might as well just keep on calling it mashing and get it over with. As long as I know what type of mashing I'm doing, then all is right with the world
  11. I in the other hand, will stop calling it "mashing" because that's not what most people are doing when they're getting out of predictable pressure. Mashing, the way I see it, is literally that; hammering the shit out of 5A/2A, 1 Button Reversals, 236236/214214 supers, Tager butter churning, etc. Again, it's one thing to make a read and push a button/input a command, once, in order to intercept your opponent. It's another to hammer the shit out of something and pray for the best. Since I can't call it mashing I'm just going to call it "abare".
  12. Reminds me of this Hazama player who RQ'd on me because I CDT'd after his failed command grab combo. I know you can't get that link down but here, have a spinny loli for your efforts. Can't call that mashing, hell, how do you even mash a 632146C motion? You just churn that butter like you're Tager or something? XD
  13. Most of the people who call people out on mashing are the ones who get mashed out of their shoddy block strings lol Mashing is a defensive option, if you're opponent is being predictable with certain strings, then you might as well push a button and punish them for it. Although I don't really mash, I just push 5A/whatever once and confirm into the optimal combo. There are also those moves that are low invulnerable starting on frame 3 which are nice to throw out here and there when you're on the defensive. It's all about that yomi and knowing your opponent's options. We should just call it "Abare", mashing like an idiot at every chance you get and knowing when to push a button even when pressured or at slight disadvantage are two entirely different things. The Japanese do it when they have to, it's a high risk/moderate reward decision, just as other defensive options such as up+back, reversals, and back dashes.
  14. Cure Dot Typhoon, you did IAD j.2D just as I did wake-up CDT and your j.2D beat it. Figures, seeing how CDT doesn't have much vertical reach on the first swing. You know what that means... LAB TIME. Figure out what all of your option are, even on awkward successful hits. I don't know, it worked pretty well whenever you tried to switch sides on me from the corner. It's a really nice tool that's a ridiculous +19 on block, you should use it as deliberately as you have now. Well find out if you can or not lol
  15. Yup, Litchi's j.2D > CDT
  16. Figures, having 5 special separate freezes would have been overkill lol
  17. You're doing it wrong lol I don't know, when I was testing it, it beat his cross-up j.2C 90% of the time. Of course if you're trying to 2A his j.2C head-on then you're going to get blown up but it should work just fine against his cross-up j.2C. You could always just up+back and prevent me from switching sides
  18. That was just my pad mistaking 2Cs with 3Cs but I'll take those random AAs lol So you're quitting a game that makes you salty for a game that's going to make you even saltier? Ok... Edit: @Sadeyo, alright, I'll see you then.
  19. You mean for combos or for fishing for stuff? If it's for the latter, I do that with Plat from time to time I'd play you today but I just logged off cuz I gotta get up early in the morning tomorrow. How about your connection? Is it better now? Edit: lol Errol, guess what I'm mashing next time we play?
  20. lol u mad Doesn't matter how many times I get hit by 6A, it still does shit damage and I still win lololol GGs Crysis and Toan
  21. lol Bang 2A At least Jin has his 2A to try and AA people but what can Bang do? Edit: Invite me, CrisisEdge
  22. Yeah ok Seriously though, if you're letting me switch sides on you for free with j.2C, then you're fucking up. Your 2A is guaranteed to beat my cross-up j.2C if it's not done as an IAD cross-up.
  23. It has been a while since CP came out and I still don't quite understand how Jin's OD works. Normals and Drives are supposed to have a maximum freeze count of 3 in OD. If you use a freeze move before OD kicks in, you've already spent 1 of your 3 "Normal" freezes, so you'll only be able to freeze 2 more times after that with "Normal" moves. Specials have a freeze count of 5 in OD. Do "Normal" freezes and "Special" freezes have a separate freeze count or do they share the same freeze count? That is to say, if you've already spent your 3 "Normal" freezes, would you still have those 5 "Special" freezes (separate freeze count) or would you only have 2 more "Special" freezes available (shared freeze count)?
  24. Most of the cast can beat Jin's j.2C cross-up with a 2A. j.2C's cross-up hit-box is pretty small, so it will usually whiff against crouching opponents. Just a heads up so that you don't get bullied by corner j.2C cross-up as much lol. Pffft, Tsubaki's nerfed 2C is still better than Jin's buffed 2C. Edit: Actually, nevermind, while 2A works wonders against simple cross-up JC j.2Cs mid-screen, it doesn't work as well against IAD j.2C cross-ups lol
