  1. Practice, until you can do it consistently. That's about all you can do.
  2. This site seems to have died. Shame, I liked it.
  3. Single Character? Characters I enjoy (alphabetical order) - Characters I'm halfway decent with?
  4. Am I the only one who thought Mission 17 was easier than some of the others?
  5. I'll take on his EX Slayer... with #R Slayer
  6. GameFAQs does.
  7. @op: There're a bunch of old summaries in the tier list thread, second post and down though, check those out. They might not best express the game as it stands now, but they do at least give a good idea of what characters can and can't do.
  8. This, but also depending on shirt colors.
  9. Rank the following things in order of their importance to you - it might help: Reversals Abare Mixups Okizeme Zoning
  10. ^Long sentence is long.
  11. Just as a general thought - there are more 65:35 matchups on this chart than the CT one. Since general consensus is that CS is better balanced than CT, it should probably have fewer matchups uneven to that degree or farther. Ignoring Arakune and Carl v. Tager in CT, CT had two fewer 65+/35- matches than this CS chart does. ed: It also might just be that the colors get darker at earlier ratios for this chart than the other one making it look different.
  12. While I love Guilty Gear and have no problem with FRCs, some of the arguments being made for them in this thread are pretty invalid. The claim that higher execution requirements make a game better has some other implications. It would suggest, for example, that the existence of slashbacks in Accent Core would have automatically made the game better than Slash even if nothing else had been changed. Different does not necessarily mean better, and neither does the presence of additional options. While there is a base level of player choice (and related execution of those choices) required to make a game fun, there is also a level of complexity that begins to drive away casual or semi-casual players, and those players are the main source of income for any developer. Starcraft was and is so successful because learning the basics is very easy in spite of its depth. By appealing to non-hardcore players, it managed to create thousands of new hardcore RTS players. Fighting games have slowly lost their approachability over the years, and therefore were, up until very recently, a stagnating market.
  13. Tournament Maker also works well.
  14. If you want to go the building route to obtain your stick, there's some good info here: http://slagcoin.com/joystick.html
  15. The university has shut today due to weather - we have 5+ inches of new snow, sleet, and ice. As much as we want to hold our event, it just isn't possible in this weather at this point. Our next LAN will be March 27th - keep an eye out for announcements.
  16. Quick update: As of now, we are still planning on holding the LAN despite the forecast. That said, it's looking like it's going to be pretty nasty this weekend, so please be careful if you decide to come up. Boone forecast and weather info.
  17. Basically, buttons send a signal when pressed and again when released. "Negative Edge" is the second signal.
