  1. You have to link mid-combo dashes, so no - the second 6 should be inputted immediately as your character comes out of recovery.
  2. They have a nice "tech me" ring effect too, not that it matters with a 2f window.
  3. The appstate gaming club is having a general gaming party thing tomorrow evening from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. If anyone's up here, there will be a couple AC setups, plus a ton of classic systems.
  4. It doesn't hurt, but I think the issue is more that AH3 is now right up Aksys's ally based on what they've released recently.
  5. 1: Yes 2: There is no announced version of CS for PC. If it happens, it'll probably be at least a year. I brought a PS3 for fighting games (also linux support, but sony nuked that) . 3: Switch your blocking back and forth for high (4b, 4d, TK saber) / low (wheel, 2b, 3c) attacks. The portal super only hits mid though; it mostly just lets her do mixups. 4: Instant airdash works pretty well - input 956 or 754 on the ground, and you'll jump then immediately airdash. Other than that and ground dashes, just be patient and wait for holes to approach. 5: CS replaced the easy buttons with beginner mode (which is handicapped in several ways - no bursts for one) 6: Bread and Butter - a character's basic combos, generally a character will have one or two B&Bs for any given situation. Punish - What it sounds like; use after blocking something unsafe. Counter Super - Yukikaze (Hakumen only in CT; Jin gets this as well in CS). May also refer to using a super as a reversal. Poke - An attack used for controlling space. Most good pokes lead to BnBs on hit and leave the opponent out of range or recover too quickly to be punished on whiff/block Overhead - An attack that hits high DP and EX DP - Dragon Punch and EX Dragon Punch. Named after the uppercut Ryu/Ken have in every Street Fighter game; the most well known attack to use a 623x motion. In Blazblue, EX DP refers to Jin's 623d. recovery time - How long your character takes to get back to a neutral state after an attack CH state - Counter hit state (if you're in CH state, every attack you take will be a CH). Counter hits can lead to much stronger combos. Guard Primer - CS Specific, replaced guard libra. 7: IDK 8: My guess is to be mash C exactly one time fewer than needed to start the Cx8 attack, then input a throw immediately. Because the throw input includes C and special moves trump throw inputs, you'll get C mash instead of a throw. 9: In CT, you take extra damage after you have burst, and can't kill with burst -> followup combo (they sit at 1hp till the combo ends, then they can die). Bursts are pretty bad in CT. 10: Varies by location. Evo (the largest fighting game tournament in the world; held in the US) uses PS3, however.
  6. Just make a bookmark to link to the newest post since Dustloop is on vB4 now ... or just copy this one's location. Problem solved
  7. I'm working on it, lol. It's harder to get people to come out to play than it should be - you have no idea how many times I've seen people back out of attending events. Wish I could figure out how to change the "afraid of losing" mindset. On the off chance that anyone else is in Boone, I'll have GG, BB, and AHF! for casuals at the Appgaming meeting Sunday. Maybe some others.
  8. At least our numbers are on the rise again.
  9. Whatever decision you make, I hope it works out for you If you don't want / have the ability to do the soldering yourself, there are plenty of modders and custom builders out there. Personally, I own a PS3 Arcade In a Box stick, so I can recommend them (they do PS2/PS3/360 now). If you wanted to splurge, I'd recommend b15sdm - his sticks are absolutely beautiful. The prices are quite steep (especially with the current exchange rate between dollars and pounds) though.
  10. Actually, forget the TEasy PCB. It's $30, and you'll have to do some soldering anyways if you want PS2 support. The best advice I can give you on the subject is to follow this guide which deals with MCC + IMP installation in the SE Fightstick (not the TE), but it goes step by step and has lots of pictures. If you don't want to read the whole guide, this diagram explains how to hook up the MCC, IMP, and TE PCB. The guide as a whole explains everything though, so read it Edit: The thread says you need a dremel tool with a grinding bit, I disagree. I purchased a spade bit ($5) in the right size and used a power screwdriver (low speed, or you could ruin things!) to put it through plastic the first time I did something similar. I wouldn't recommend it for the long term, but if you're only going to do one mod, it's the cheap way.
  11. 360 TE + TEasy Mod + MC Cthulhu & IMP + RJ45 = A stick that works on everything. edit: And by everything, I mean: PS1, PS2, PS3, NES, SNES, Gamecube (Wii by extension), Genesis, Saturn, Xbox, 360, TG16, and 3DO. Everything you want and more
  12. Tsubaki should be below Tager as well. I know this isn't a "post your tier list" thread, but looking at the Arcadia lists as well as the generally agreed upon changes, I think something along the lines of this looks about right: S: Litchi > Bang >> Ragna A: Arakune Carl Hakumen B: Hazama Lambda Taokaka > Jin > Noel Tager >>> Tsubaki C: Rachel Discounting the sub-tier divisions, that's pretty much the March Arcadia tier list with Arakune in A instead of B.
  13. A character can be S-tier without good reversal options (see: Dhalsim in ST). That said, I don't think Carl is S.
  14. Buy AH1, use Pcsx2 to run it
  15. The tutorial mode explains jump canceling.
  16. His non-fever mode is worse than Rachel, that's why.
  17. It's just another layer of proration. If Tager had two 1000 damage attack with 100 p1 and p2 that could gattling (or link) into each other, he would do 1000 with the first hit at 400 with the second due to his character combo rate (40%). Arakune, on the other hand, would do 1000 and 1000 with the same attacks (100% ccr).
  18. I think she'd be pretty willing to attack (and possibly even kill) Bang though, given that
  19. What hold are you using? Picking a good one should eliminate most of those problems.
  20. You need to 5DD > 236A > Throw more to condition them to jump, I think. Most people online are used to seeing 5DD > 236B, so they just sit and block low when they see one of the Parsers.
  21. I disagree with the last two posters. You should play the character you want to play. Hazama might take you a while to get used to, but it's not like he's the hardest character in the game. If at all possible, you should find (at least) one more new blazblue player to learn with (in person), however. It's much easier to pick things up in person than online.
  22. Yes, that (jc) means "jump cancel".
  23. Kamui, or at least I think that's how it's spelled. She was godlike in AH1 FULL (guard cancels always led to untechable knockdown, so long as you had a meter), but I don't know much about any characters' placement in AH3.
  24. It's a matter of proration if you're doing dash -> 5a -> 6a. Every time you use a move that isn't 6A or TK Saber in the loop, you greatly reduce the number of repetitions you can do. Even 5B reduces the maximum by one, and that's the preferred non-6A option.
  25. The balance patch is coming "about 6 months after release", as has been stated many times now.
