Uh, yes she is. Her normals are all basically the same range as Noel's and Tsubaki's are. The difference is that Noel's normals are all beaten by Tager's sledges and Tsubaki's normals are piss poor damage.

Pretty much this. The fact is though if you do somehow get a hit it, it's damage time. That and her BBS super is the sole reason why she isn't crap tier.

The fact is that Tager's options are slightly better than Makoto's options. That's why it's a 45-55 and not a 50-50. Sure, you can still beat Tagers, as well as the majority of her other matchups which are 45-55, but there's still no getting around the fact that a character's options are better than yours. Makoto's range hurts badly. The sole reason she's not like Tsubaki is that she has damage.

Reduce blockstrings to a minimum? Like what? End with a 5B or a single 5C? You can't jump out of those, and cancelling into 214A is begging to get thrown. 214B/C seems like a good idea at first, but it'll only work for a while until the Tager starts 5A'ing you out of startup. Yes, her air to air game is better. But why the hell would you want to go air to air with Tager? Why would he? His good stuff is on the ground, so is yours. Your air to ground game sucks, so no jumping in to avoid throws. Tager only jumps to get closer or buffer stuff, he's not going to try to air attack you like Taokaka. Also, Makoto's DP sucks. It's no ID. Most Tagers will expect a mash out DP out of Tager's tech traps anyway, so you'll just get owned for your trouble.

Makoto's mixups up close involve a lot of staggering or moves with a lot of startup. Tager can 360/720 through the gaps with ease. Also her short range makes her have to brave the possibility of a 360/720 a lot, unlike other rushdown characters that have longer reach normals. The only good thing is that Makoto has Tager specific combos that hurt very, very bad. 45-55 seems like an accurate matchup.

I like these numbers. Whoever did the Makoto matchups got them down pat. I've got nothing to complain about there. Also holy shit Taokaka rises up the tiers. Maybe more people will use her now, lol.

So can someone tell me how meter gain/usage/etc works in AH3? The wiki wasn't really too informative on that matter. Also what does the guts threshold/limit mean?

Honestly BO, dragontamer is right. Even with children, punishment only goes so far. People, animals, whatever; they all respond better to positive reinforcement. Such is the difference between a RPG turn based game forum and a fighting game forum... Honestly, there should be like a mandatory read of the forum rules for each new member that signs up, and one with "YOU WILL GET FUCKING BANNED IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THESE RULES" in huge letters on top. Too many people are posting dumb questions without looking at threads first, like the whole fucking Beginner forum area. There should be something that tells you where to ask questions, and what kind of questions are approved. "XXXX is not a smart question" vs "XXXX is a good question." And also there needs to be a rule like NO NON-EXPERT OPINIONS IN A THREAD THAT IS CLEARLY ONLY FOR TOURNEY/EXPERT PLAYERS. Like the motherfucking Matchup thread. And thus, no more "What would you want in CS Patch" or "wishlist" threads. EVER. I fucking had aneurysms reading those kinds of threads, the posters in there were so stupid. I actually lost vision in one of my eyes for a week.
