TSX Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 From BB CT i've always enjoyed ragna and noel, when CS came out ragna combos became really natural for me while noel fell outta favor. with CP Ragna combos make sense and noel combos are starting to become natural muscle memory when i need em -inconsistent doe T.T- But i've always liked ragna and his character. The bad guy whos actually good and him talking shit but giving a shit about some of the other characters in story really struck a bone with me and i really liked him since the beginning. :D
Ziggy_Stardust Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 We'll, I was a casual Bang and Jin player in CT-CSE then, I started taking CP seriously and Azrael.....I dunno, was just fun to play as. Really though I'd prefer a possessed man who folds himself in half or a Mike Tyson parody boxer.....but those aren't in Blazblue.

Who needs them when you have homoerotic incest obsession, crossdessing, and perverted medical professionals?
CausticRaven Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Nu, because carryover from CT and Lambda from CS. And I can somewhat imitate her voice, which unnerves my friends. Subbing Terumi because infinite amounts of curbstomps, but have no idea on anything else. Subbing Ragna because favourite story character.
Dueck Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I usually select with a series of eliminations. I start with whoever I think looks the coolest, and if I totally suck with them I go on to the second coolest, etc., until I find what I'm looking for. I'm a sucker for sword characters, which is why I went Baiken and Hakumen... They also have many of the same letters in their names...
LaowPing Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I always seem to be attached to shotos for the sake of learning the game so Ragna and Jin (especially Jin) were a natural match to me. I also seem to quickly fall for movement based characters so I went to Tao in CSE and Hazama in CP. I always gotta have a high damage sub because I love watching half of someone's health go down in one combo (Hi Kagura and Azrael). I'm also maining Terumi because... well you guys know why.
TwistedAsura Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I just pick the character I think has a cool look and pesonality. Usually one that tends to gravitate towards being relatable. In CT I mained Ragna because he was rebelious and did his own thing plus I think scythes are badass. In CS I mained Hazama because he had a calm and cool exterior but was hardcore if you poked him the wrong way. In CP I main Kagura because hes carefree but has a very serious side to him. His outside says he doesnt care but on the inside he does. Playstyle wise I tend to avoid the very heavy weight characters. I enjoy medium weight fighters.
SuzakuRainmaker Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 It all comes down to how much I enjoy the character in general. I've never really cared about tiers or any of that. I've kinda always viewed picking based on tiers to be so... boring, I dunno. Like, yeah, I could run Azrael and wreck shit, but he just doesn't interest me as a character, so any wins with him would just feel empty and playing would just be a chore. Wins with someone like Makoto might be rare, but I can actually take pride in those and just simply have fun playing just because I actually care about her as a character.
Corbenik Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Started out trying Mu in 1.1, then Noel because I'd get success mashing drive. Eventually went to Bullet because of how simple she was while still being fun and not too button mashy. Stuck with her in bbcpex because her improvements actually made her somewhat more complex and technically challenging while diversifying her options. Also I really like her personality in the story.
Dark__Divider Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Don't have a main, but the closest thing to one at the moment is probably Arakune. I choose him a lot because a lot of his tricks work well on newbies (though the pros can see through some of it after a while though T_T). Shark works well when countering and looking for rolls, dive can cross up, I can still 6C on opponents wakeup if they roll behind me, 6A isn't easy to see coming, which can lead to shark again. JB appears to do well air to ground and air to air, can do a fake out after 3C and then attack from behind, etc. Lot of tricks that work on those that don't see them coming Due to his movement though, it prevents me from throwing much though, which is something I like to do very much.
pokemonblaze234 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 D button and 22A :V And the D button was in CP1, not CP2 V: But mostly 22A
Hakkai_Requiem Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I'm still playing CSE and I "main" Rachel. I still suck with her but hey, I want to improve :)I love her story-wise. I do really like characters who are not clearly good or evil. So a vampire who is "protecting" the world but for the sake of chaos and from the neutral position of an observer was REALLY interesting. Plus, I really like the way she behaves, how she speaks, her witty humor and how she relates to other characters.Incidentally, I also like gothic atmospheres, loli girls and halloween pumpkinsAnd wind, too. She really fits meGameplay wise I like characters with some sort of gimmick. And Wind is a huge gimmick
CharlieDowncast Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I choose by personality first. I knew was going to main Hazama and eventually Terumi based on that. And when Terumi came round with his sadistic play style, I was sold.
Mu Nova Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Before I ever even played the game, I saw profile pictures on Xbox Live and really liked Mu's. Eventually I looked up some videos, and seemed to like her fighting style (even if I was intimidated by her lasers) and badass voice. First thing I did after getting CS(2) was power through the story and unlock her, and I've never looked back. That said, I do only take a real interest in characters I like to start with. Fortunately, CP has a bunch of characters with both interesting personalities and playstyles, but now that CPE has brought me back, I need to get back to working out which to focus on...
Monochrome Magpie Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I liked Hazama. I played Hazama.I liked Ragna since he was somewhat of an offensive character. Terumi is Hazama with a very rushdown-offensive oriented playstyle. Do the math :P
Ereth Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I started with jin because hes like every other fighting game character i playbut then i saw apologyman's punish on dawn hikari at ceo 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z89aJV96Nyw&t=14m23sBeen maining hakumen ever since
ViolaSorel Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I use butterfly knives and Hazama uses butterfly knives so instant main but however Izayoi is best suited for my playing style so therefor I main both.
Adam_Automatic Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 On 7/18/2009, 11:04:40, Agent P said: At first I picked Ragna (aka Dante Sparda) because his design and fight style looks cool and the mechanism of life drain is quite a novelty, and also he's a rush down character. Still, after "some" things that I didn't liked about how he is handled in the story, slowly I started to play other characters and it was then that I found that Jin (aka Vergil Sparda) is more appealing to my playstyle because he is a "jack of all trades", the kind of characters that I always like in fighting games. So basically, Jin is my main because he is a jack of all trades that is very solid as a fighter, and also Ice element is always cool! Also I'm planning to learn Rachel, just to have a 180 degree different play style to learn and also that style looks sooo interesting  That's the mentality that I have in fighting games, as well: I always go for the characters that have options no matter what the situation is. In Guilty Gear, I play Ky; in BlazBlue, I play Jin; in Under-night, I play Hyde. Weirdly, though, in the "more conventional" fighting games like Street Fighter, I play non-traditional characters (like Yang, Guy, and Ibuki). For the most part, however, I always go for the characters that I think look the coolest. Although I do have a predilection for the "good" characters, design is the most important choice for me when it comes to choosing my main.
indie_animator Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I like heavy hitters/grapplers in a variety of games, though I like other types as well. After trying every character's individual tutorial & arcade & some challenges for everyone, I read a lot of the Tager subforum, watched plenty of vids, wrote down some combos for training & decided to main him. Also liking the character's personality/story, art, moves, etc. played a part.
YamiYasha Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I like swords, so the first characters I tried were Ragna and Jin. Ragna was more fun to me and felt more "natural" to play. Pretty simple, yeah.
Superschmuck Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I heard somewhere that Kagura was sort of the Siegfried from Soul Calibur analogue, so thats what caused me to pick him as my main.
