I think Noel's libra was down to 1 point 2 times during that one. I don't exactly know how safe that option is since there's that startup time on 6b. It looked like her zoning game didn't change much. As a new rachel player I don't know what else I can comment on, or if my conclusions on CS rachel are even valid at all based on my knowledge on CT rachel. In my opinion, though, that match made rachel look not as bad as people feared she'd be. That airdash air iris combo looked kinda cool =S.

Sort of interesting to note that a lot of her actual damage came from punishing blocked attacks, or the Litchi not blocking 236a/b and sword/air iris.

George has a health buff as he can survive being hit by a lobelia (meaning he has more health than CT George). 6A looks harder to combo off of in general. 6A link to 5B on normal hit misses a few times in this video. 1:53 has an interesting combo 5B CDC 236B IAD jB jC air iris land jC. Last time I checked jC can be comboed into BBL, but I'm not really sure if it'd do any noteworthy damage. Kinda interesting to see the variations in gameplay though. Blue Rachel is better at using the traps and Pink Rachel is better at combos. At least Rachel still has some versatility. 2:45- example of 5C C wall bounce into 5C C. Doesn't look like it can be repped more than once outside of the corner because you have to dash forward to make it continue. 5C C wall bounce also looks like it could have a lot of potential for Rachel. Shortly after you also see 5C C wall bounce sword iris air combo.
Tari Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 It's worth pointing out that the 5cc -> 5cc repetition may be limited to 5cc CH -> 5cc (as seen in the video). If the whole 'fatal counter' positive proration thing is true, 5cc CH is a good chance to do some more damage than normal, since it's a guardbreaking move.

GGeorge has less health than in CT lobelia just doesnt destroy projectiles anymore, it only absorbs them, he can still be killed by pretty much anything else though...even 2A mash Q.Q

George got hit while being summoned but still lived through the ice sword. But seriously? Lobelia doesn't cancel out projectiles anymore? *wonders when she's going to find good news without finding a load more bad news* Uh... does it depend on the projectile? Because at 4:47, A lobelia took out an ice sword. 4:51- George takes the ice sword and lives.

Corner pressure is toned down, but still present. The new frog opens up allot of options and allows for easy approach and guard breaks. 4b -> 5cdc takes away two primers easy if they get caught blocking frog. Really flashy air iris combos are nice. Frog is kind of the new pumpkin.

Im guessing its damage reduction across whole cast to make matches longer, but then again,i repeat, ive been watching vids of mostly noels and rachels, both of which got their damage nerfed real bad, so still indefinite

Hopefully Rachel doesn't end up with some whacky infinite where she's bouncing people off the wall all day. But that being said 5CC wallbounce 5CC wallbounce seems like it actually does decent damage and it opens up I think at least enough time to get out George. Hey, do you think ground throw 9D 5CC wallbounce 5CC wallbounce would potentially work? I heards somewhere that throws were more useful in this game. So it might not be a bad idea to put a little more thought into throw combos.

The reason throws are more useful is that they shortened the window for OS throw defense by like 5 frames. So people actually have to react to throws now or OS defend in such a way that you were probably expecting a throw anyway. Also, I found out that Rachel can't crouch under Noel's 5b anymore but she can still get 6c looped by Litchi. Bastards.

She still lost, but this is the first match where she didn't get completely run over. There were some interesting trap set ups. And... no, she still can't break 3k.

There wasn't anything about that not comboing, after all. There was some confusion in one of the other threads as to whether you could still combo from 6b, but that was because of a misunderstanding about the changes to the 6b CH. edit: I take that back. It seems you might be right about 5b not comboing directly into 6c. Need more confirmation on how that works, though.

Was using the umbrella swing to sneak in an extra j.c in air combos. 3c9d combos are still in. I'd say bad habits are what made the match bad for the Rachel. Waaaay too much random level 2 j.2dc and stuff like that.
