Wolf Pup TK Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 no j.C is jump cancellable Gotta wait for it to finish. Dammit, pick one! xD (j/k)
FuzzyWUzzy Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I'd go with kid viper's answer because I can't JC it without finishing it. >_<
ghaleon109 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Your SUPPOSED to wait for j.C to finish so you can get max damage, but KV is right j.C is JC'able. If you do it wrong and cancel the first couple of j.C's with a jump you'll drop the combo.
Moogster Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Does Jakou have to be air barrier blocked to be able to block it? I've seen Zakiyama foregoing the Hirentotsu so that he lands, the enemy air techs and then he does Jakou.
kid viper Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 yes jakou has to be barriered. that strategy is really good once in a while, been doing it a bit myself xP

Wolf Pup TK Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Hazama has resets now, too? I'm loving this character more and more! It's pretty sick. Check these out, he does it a few times: Zakiyama, Keita vs Kaqn Zakiyama vs Keita, Gussan, R-1 But I think that people will get used to this. All you need to do is barrier immediately after teching and you should be safe... I think? Back on the topic of j.C being jump cancelable. Do you need to stop mashing C to jump out of it? It's possible that the stick i was using wasn't working well, because I have had many times where it was appropriate to jc in the middle of j.C and it just didn't happen.
kid viper Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 you can jump cancel at anytime. if you watch videos you can see that sometimes they only do j.Cx2 > j.Cx5 > hirentotsu

FuzzyWUzzy Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Yup, doing a barrier to block Jakou should be safe. Although most people wouldn't react like that right away, you could mix them up with this. Not to mention you could just fake that you dropped your combo (lawlz) just so they can catch a JAKOU! in the face.

I believe I saw long ago some one dropping after j.Cx5 into 4 or 6D~D or C into air throw
Wolf Pup TK Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think that once anyone gets used to always using barrier after air teching (at least when in an appropriate setup), the reset will effectively be useless, since it's really not a "should I barrier or should I not barrier" decision, just a default action.

Well, most resets are only good once or twice in a match anyway. Plus, I don't think I've seen too many people barrier after teching in the air.
Jwallz Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Apparently Hazama's command grab (The one out of his stance) has invincibility frames

ghaleon109 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Apparently Hazama's command grab (The one out of his stance) has invincibility frames Hazama has other command grabs? It's a bit short but it beats out quite a few moves. It's not long enough to get through Jin or Lambda's swords but it's still fun to do when you know a burst is coming... I'm not sure why it worked, but I've even beat out a couple random Carnage Siccsiors with it.
kid viper Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 i've beaten Carnage Scissors, Ashura, Hells Fang, G.E.T.B, and other stuff i can't remember command grab is too good
Redefinition Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 i've beaten Carnage Scissors, Ashura, Hells Fang, G.E.T.B, and other stuff i can't remember command grab is too good You've beaten the big buster? Fuck me, wow. The command grab IS awesome.
junja Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 saw zakiyama c. grab through the second hit of jins ex srk. pretty hot, and left him with a very slight frame advantage iirc
GreeniX Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 You've beaten the big buster? Fuck me, wow. The command grab IS awesome. All you really need to beat GETB is, like, two frames of invincibiliy? It stops being invincible one frame after the super flash, so as long as you do something that's invincible up to the point where you knock Tager out of it, you win. It's not like the concept was new. Done at the same time, Tager's 360a beats his own 720c.
SuperKawaiiDesu Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Highest damage ive seen off of overhead (the kick) is like less than 2k. How much does he get off of his elbow? is it elbow > Houtenjin combo?

How much does he get off of his elbow? is it elbow > Houtenjin combo? That's ALL the overhead elbow combos into If your talking about 214D~A as the overhead kick, then yeah it combos into 2A and you do the regular follow up. I'm pretty sure the damage is low because of the proration...
kid viper Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 214D~A> Jayoku 214D~A charged> 5b 214D~A> 2A
FuzzyWUzzy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 214D~A only combos into 2A if you hit them on crouch unless I'm mistaken.
