best way to punish a blocked DP? Everything I try is failing, she usually recovers before my hit lands. I once got a jayoku but I had to IB the tsubame gaeshi ;/

It's not very easy to punish. If you're up in her face when you block it and you know the staff will land behind you, you should be able to 2A it pretty easily. Keep in mind that if you block the falling part of the staff, she's safe, there isn't shit you can do at that point. IB Jayoku is probably the best bet, but it's not going to be easy to do on reaction.

Man, this matchup is like hell for me. I go for the zoning/hit confirm strategy but then her staff renders it useless. I switch gears to rush her but then one mistake and she can get a very very long combo off. I don't know what to do. :psyduck:

I feel the same way.. Definately my worst matchup but then again I have trouble with Litchi using other characters.

I only know 2 local Litchi players but I find that the safest place to be is full screen. Unfortunately Hazama doesn't really have many options from there as Litchi can easy keep him out if he tries to drive follow up. So I've just gotta keep faking chains and fishing for a CH from there.

I've found what works is to play defensively and wait for an opening then go from there. Chain spamming at full-screen is definately not recommended. If she predicts the chain and it whiffs then she can easily just jump in on you and once she's closer than mid-screen it's really hard to do anything. Chains won't hit-stun, normals lack range and she pretty much beats out all of your moves. Approaching from the air isn't safe as well as she can cancel out the chain by throwing her staff at it and you can't do anything about it apart from fall and eat a combo on the way down. If you're closer than midscreen, not in her face and not pressuring her, don't even try to go offensive as you're going to eat something you'll regret.

Pretty much you just have to outplay her. Once you nail a good CH go into a combo and get that meter for a Jayoku as you'll need all the damage you can get.

If anybody has any good strategies or better advice I'm all ears. So tired of getting smashed by Litchi :(

Okay. I just fought Greats ( a pretty fucking legit Litchi ) at Garden City today, and he knew exactly how to rape Hazama or any other character for that matter.

What you're doing this match is hitconfirming chains into the j.214B# ( 5C and whatever included ) and getting the fuck out and repeating this process. Litchi stuffs Hazama's shit pretty fierce, and regardless of how badass you think you are at IB -> Jayoku, eating 5k off of a fucked up IB is not worth it.

You want to play this match extremely safe, because one mishap and the entire momentum is pretty much gone and Litchi has a 5k health lead and 60ish Heat gain advantage.

It hasn't happened to me, but apparantly Tsubume Gaieshi ( sp? ) stuffs Jayoku, so only go for Jayoku when it's safe. Do not second guess, or once again you'll be down 5k and 60 meter.

It's boring to do, but imo the safest way to "approach" Litchi is to hitconfirm chains into combos, and rinse and repeat. I might just not be confident in Hazama's normals but, yeah, this is a "run up get done up situation. "

Also after 7 matches, I can confidently tell you 214D~B does not go through Litchi's dp.

It is a DP. I am sure nothing can go through it.

Eventually though, it's going to be pretty impossible to hitconfirm chains. I think you want to rely more on your normals than anything as Hazama.

But yeah, Litchi is pretty annoying.

Some people confuse Hazama's 214D~B for a dp, though. It's not.

imo, I had a hard time trying normals against her. I just poked and annoyed until I got an opening.

Although remembered what happened to me, I can't say that's too good either.

I ate 3 All Greens doing that.

I dunno, normal blockstring is pretty legit. Though it's not really as good by itself. Command grab into oblivion?

Though yeah, just gotta tough it out man. She's not S tier for nothing.

Command grab is iffy, most people immediately wakeup jump ( lol 3 frames for Litchi what the fuck )

so it whiffs, and I don't trust BB grabs enough to try to tick it.

My pressure strings are usually 5b -> 2a -> 5b -> 214D~A -> 5b -> jabaki and j.1D(shoots diagonal downward )against Litchi. I might've been lucky, the Litchi I played IBed on demand and punished when they could but outside of ressenga that felt pretty safe for some reason.

And she fucking earns her S tier in CS man, this is a really dangerous matchup for Hazama imo.

5k is too much fucking damage to eat for messing up, and the 60 meter she gains is used to just pressure you/RC into more damage.

No, don't use it on oki. Like, mindgame it I guess. Maybe after a 5B in your blockstring just to trip them up. 214D~A IB is disadvantage for you. I'd normally just block right after.

Maybe throw in a 214D~B from time to time too, if they think you'll go for an overhead.

Her poke is almost on par with Hazama's chains, which adds to the frustration, or at least for me. :psyduck:

how to play this matchup: zone with chains, move in on chains that hit, knock the bitch down, go on the offensive. when it goes into neutral game try and play full screen with her again. lather rinse repeat.

oh and block mixups.

If you aren't very far away, you can punish it with Jayoku for a Fatal Counter. There's no need to IB either, just be sure you're quick enough.

This match is hell....try not to get corner raped, though that's impossible since she has as many fucking mixups as bang does, jayoku isn't all that safe either since they could be baiting it and then it's a free CH/FC corner combo for them, oh and if you are in corner she can make the fucking stick just spin in place so you have to block, then she gets to do more stuff to you and you'll most likely die.

236A (fatal counter, if they inputted 236C, it will hit you but you should be able to tech in time for the Jayoku followups)

Hate losing to trash Litchi players because of her j.c. Some of it is me fucking up, but I swear I lose to the scrubbiest shit.

IDK if this thread is still visited, but can anyone give me tips on how to beat this **** in CS2? everytime I try to zone her staff beats my chains and I get countered by it, if I don,t hitconfirm my chains and come whenever i want for crossups or nything it's free All Green for her, her blockstring is endless, she can do much pain form either lows and highs, does massive damage in corner and midscreen.... she just have everything agains't Hazama, plus that ****** DP of her...
