W.E.M.P. Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 So I just got my Blazblue TE stick a couple weeks ago, and now that I have gotten used to using it ( for the most part >> ) I want to add some custom art, obviously! But I have no ability to create a layout pleasing to the eye. What does one do at that point? Find someone to make a layout for me? Lrn2photoshop? :psyduck:
Souji5 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Here's a new custom Features: Brazilian Ebony case PS360+McCthulhu+Imp v2 pcbs Custom Balltop from Sugar Kane+Broken Engli5h Custom art
kraken Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Souji I've seen some other sticks you posted on SRK and I have to say all your fightsticks are awesome! So I just got my Blazblue TE stick a couple weeks ago, and now that I have gotten used to using it ( for the most part >> ) I want to add some custom art, obviously! But I have no ability to create a layout pleasing to the eye. What does one do at that point? Find someone to make a layout for me? Lrn2photoshop? :psyduck: Photoshop isn't difficult to learn, what scares most people is seeing it for the first time and not knowing what to do. Luckily there are millions of tutorials out there only a google search away. But being good at photoshop is no replacement for having a good sense of aesthetics and design... You might want to ask COR or someone with more experience, I'm still learning to photoshop for myself
OmniSScythe Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Release the Kraken! (just had~ to do that) Nice stick btw YuYu. lol

videoman Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 (edited) A little on topic and to present those Joysticks! I just found this site for joystick stands! The prices start about about $59.99 the others cost a little more depending on how you wanted! http://www.tefightstands.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XzKYc4na3Y Edited April 24, 2011 by videoman
deathVIAavatar Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) For my first arcade stick mod, I did a paewang rev mod, and this is what I came up with. It isn't perfect but it will do for now. A wood case one would be ideal in the future, but I'm happy with the results from this one aside from my shotty painting abilities lol. http://youtu.be/-aPPA93ZFgU Let me know what you think! P.S. because there is a lot of text in it, and I used a specific font style, it's better to watch it at 720P. Later! Edited April 27, 2011 by deathVIAavatar
yashanyu1 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 that template is genius xD! only critique, the text for the bubble looks odd, find a better font.
danteMdie Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/9589/hakumenarcadestick2.jpg Well, here's mine. It's a regular SE, with custom art and a full sanwa mod. It needs a little touch on some parts though, the spray is starting to wear off in the artwork's corners....
deathVIAavatar Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Just posted a follow up video to my original video regarding my Paewang Revolution Mod. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EghfnC7O1LA It mainly covers in brief detail some does and don'ts I came across while painting something for the first time. Shows the tools I used too. For any new modders like, like I still am, it's some decent info when coupled with the other guides out there. Hope you like.
Souji5 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Here's a new bloodwood custom The stick features: Bloodwood casing (hand sanded and oil rubbed) ps360 pcb w/ stacked fgwidget Light on activation Pushbuttons Hollow shaft w/ led balltop
Sandvich11 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 So I've recently got into photoshop to attempt to make stick art of my own and with my limited knowledge I've created this. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/3373/stickart.png I going to get this printed out soon so if I could get some critique that would be helpful for improvements.
yashanyu1 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Honestly I think You put too much into the design, From my experience I find simpler designs to be much more attractive. If you want my input, ditch the A, B, C, and Ouroburos letters they are a bit tacky I do like the start button though. I like the feel of the background for the right side, Only thing I would Change about that is the brightness, Its a tad too bright for my tastes, (again, just my personal opinion) Darken the colors surrounding your buttons as well. I like the hazama text The left side...Clutter, Clutter Everywhere. I honestly think you should just simplify it. Get rid of the ghost, and black crest in the back. You do better with just a simple gradient fading in imo or even just a black background fading in with the white crest in the back showing through... oh and change the positioning of the crest, Its too far to the left. Alright my input has been given, I'd like to see what you do with your design
Sandvich11 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Thanks, i''ll get to fixing it up whenever I get time.
SkyKing Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Just changed the art, buttons, and balltop on my TE. I forgot to place the screw on the bottom-left corner since the nut fell out of place inside the case.
Sandvich11 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 After I almost finished editing my stick art I called it a night and when I woke up next morning, I find that my portable harddrive which contained the psd image, decided to die so I had to start from scratch. Anyways one Yash-critique later, http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/568/vxsatemplatepreview1.png I was also wondering if I should add a red outline effect to the crest like so, http://img857.imageshack.us/img857/3315/vxsatemplatepreview2.png Still open to more suggestions if any of you think this looks crappy in any way
FormerlyUnknown Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 the blazblue emblem and the colors around the buttons looks a little out of place on a haz stick...just kinda interrupt the flow of the thing to me
Klesk Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Sandvich, i'd have to say that the BlazBlue logo is a bit distracting from the rest of the art and the button glow is way too strong in comparison to the start button. Although I do not think the red glow fits, I think if you played around with the colors and outline effects you could get something good. Mind telling what arcade stick that art is for? I'm just curious.
