Semi-formal wear is mandatory. If you do not come in semi-formal wear, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. But you can stay anyways.

If this finishes early like last time, and I'm not too tired, we'll also have ONE OF THE THREE EVENTS:

TAGER FESTIVAL, BANZAI!

What: BB:CS 1V1 TAGER ONLY

Where: Arcade Infinity (1380 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748)

When: SATURDAY 05/22/2010 7PM (Signups start right after the main event)

Entry: $1 (Entry) + $1 (Venue) [Event Mode]

Entry: $1 (Entry) + $1 (Venue) [Event Mode]

Tournament Rules: SINGLE MATCH, SINGLE ELIM, TAGER ONLY

Prize Structure: Everything Else/$3/$2

The hat is so we can enforce other rules, such as "You must draw again if you draw your main character" or "You cannot play a character twice in a row".

2v2 Random Teams, Secondary Character

What: BB:CS 2V2 YOU CANNOT PLAY THE CHARACTER YOU PLAYED IN THE TOURNAMENT

Where: Arcade Infinity (1380 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748)

When: SATURDAY 05/22/2010 7PM (Signups start right after the main event)

Entry: $2 (Entry) + $2 (Venue) [Event Mode]

Tournament Rules: POKEMON STYLE (that means, OCVs are possible)

Prize Structure: Everything Else/$3/$2

I still stand by TAGER ONLY for the joy and laughter, but 2v2 Random Teams + Secondary character sounds fun too.

On the flipside, I think Random only is kinda boring. Most people will get some character they dunno the BnB for and it'll take foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This is your chance to come out and flex your BlazBlue related manliness. The points are done like this so we can give points to Nth place, but not have it matter as much. I'm up for suggestions on the point system, since I'm still debating on what it will be. Also, they'll also be some silly match by match ranking system as well (more on that later, if I actually get around to doing it). Both will be soley for E-Penis, though maybe we'll have some silly trophies or other goodies for 1st~0th place.

These will be about once every 3~4 weeks. That's because we've also got:

2v2 Team Tournament: Be My Valentine

What: BB:CS 2v2 Tournament

Where: Arcade Infinity (1380 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748)

Entry: $10 (Entry Per Team) + $3 (Venue) [Event Mode]

Tournament Rules: Double Elim, Waseda Style, Character Lock

Prize Structure: 70/20/10

Expect these to also take place every 3~4 weeks, and will take place different weeks from the Singles events. Come out and show your support for BlazBlue! :yaaay:

As per request, our point values have changed from 10/7.5/5/2.5/1/.5 to 8/7/6/5/3/3/1/1.

This was done to better match up ranbat values on the AI Blog.

Some people have expressed interest in having it be SBO style (Single match, single elim) from now on. I'm either way for this, and we can adjust the entry/pot accordingly, so let me know what you think about this. Otherwise, our current format is:

aw man, why can't we have these on saturdays? i'm guessing your trying to schedule these on sundays when sf4 ranbats aren't goin on. otherwise it'd be crazy packed. and why not just copy what the sf4 guys do. mariokart style. at least i think that's how their point system works. less points to count lol.

As for what day its on, I'm more busy on Saturdays than I am Sundays. That's pretty much the only reason. Sorry about that. :psyduck:

Scott suggested their system to me, it's not exactly Mario kart, but its like 8/7/6/5/3/1. I'm down with that too, so if people are okay with it, so will I.

Basically the current point system is 4/3/2/1/.40/.20 /// .02/.01.

as opposed to SF4's 8/7/6/5/3/1 /// 0/0.

But yeah, like I said, I'm open to input, so if you hate either one, let me know what a better one is!

lolz at decimal points. i don't get why you'd want that. but it's not like i can participate all that often since i'm in LA during signup time. so it isn't of much concern to me i guess.

You should use the point system like later in future tournaments or start a new point system when it hits console at least. I mean not everyone has all the time in the world to practice or go to Mike all the time or AI. Just trying to make it fair to people.

Tron, the idea is to get people going to the arcade. People who want to win will MAKE time to practice. If you're not going to make time to practice, then maybe you should evaluate your motivation for entering BBCS tournaments. (Though, to my knowledge, you haven't yet, which makes the point moot.)

QFT. People who want to PLAY in general will make time to do so.

Tron, you're complaining "not everyone" has time to go to AI or here, but you forget how lucky you are to even live close enough to drive somewhere that has CS! Most of the DLoopers are waiting for a console release...

and these tourneys aren't REALLY meant for making the money. its for the experience against good players and havin a good time. if it was for money we'd probably up the ante. it's only 5+3 dollars, you can spend way more money doing other things for a whole day

Yeah well I will be motivated soon to hit up more practice sessions of course. I will be at the next tournament. It is the point system which I think is a bit weird but I will step it up!

I thought it's been established in the very FIRST POST that the points are merely e-peen points with no monetary value whatsoever.

It's really dead on weeknights now... You can practice all you like, just have to make it down there for a single night...

I went down there Tuesday and had some fun matches with a Noel player but after he left I was the only one on the BB machines :(

So event mode=all games are free right? Excuse me for my ignorance, but I don't often go to arcade tournies. I remember last time I went to an arcade tourney at James Games they put it on some special mode and every game you had to pay a quarter, win or lose lol. As much as I love the CS machine, 3 dollars venue and 50 cents each game is too much haha.
