With BB:CT being pulled out of EVO, is there any consideration on pulling it out of Devastation? o.0

The three, 4v4 MW2 tournaments are announced: Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Domination.

We asked you, the players, to share with us the top three modes you wanted to see at DEVASTATION... we had over 200 responses in just a couple of weeks with these three modes coming out on top. As a reminder, we are supplying fully unlocked Xbox 360s with Level 10 Prestige, every weapon, perk, attachments, and custom classes available; each player will be able to run their set up as they choose.

Here is a quick link to the full article on the site, including information on the rulesets for each mode:

The online registration has been updated with these tournaments.

- If you already have registered you can log in and add any or all of these to your existing registration.

- If you have not registered already, get your procrastinating self over to the site and get it done:

Hopefully not. I just cancelled my airplane ticket to Vegas because of that.

No worries at all, we are not canceling BB at all. As a matter of fact, perhaps one of the community will run a side tournament on that new version of that one game (that I cannot legally endorse or mention) :)

I would love to see Demolition as part of the MW2 tournament. It's sort of a mix of Search and Destory and Sabatoge.

demolition can be turned around at any moment. Which is very fun and unique. It's all about team work in Demolition and it can test the abilities of your teammates

Hey everyone...not that this is bad news but we want to make sure we let everyone know that DEVASTATION will be an "online-only" registration; no day-of/on-site registrations will be accepted. We had to make the change this year to make sure that we are able to bring you the best event possible and, while it will really only impact some of you, we wanted to let you know while you still had two months to get your registration taken care of.

So, again, no on-site or day-of registrations are available - you must register online to compete.

Here is a blog post about the change to online-only:

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES MONDAY, JUNE 14TH AT 9:00 PM PST

I have to be honest - due to my experiences at last year's Devastation, I won't go to this for BB. Perhaps next year...

I would have gone but... Melty isn't in the lineup?

Melty's AZ scene is way bigger than WC's, so that makes me sad.

I hear you Mike... last year's BB was a community ran side-event and not an official tournament event by DEVASTATION. Is it the game (Calamity Trigger) or something else that puts you off?

On another note, rumor has it that you are a big KI fan - you know we are doing a special KI tournament?

We considered it but no one really seemed to jump on the idea. I would like to see a MB side-tournament ran this year so we can gauge the participation for an official event next year...

Definitely looking forward to this year's event. If it's half as awesome as last year, it's going to rock!

I can say, with any doubt or bs, that this year will definitely be more awesome than last. We have taken all of the feedback and suggestions from last year and addressed almost every single one with an improvement or solution.

Heck, we even have some stuff already lined up for next year ;)

Hey guys - just a friendly reminder that DEVASTATION is now only two months out...

It is scary how fast the last two months have flown by and I imagine that the next two will move by even faster. So, while we get our stuff wrapped up, you should as well. Better to get all your stuff taken care of now than waiting until the last minute.

We drafted a little something up to help you guys get prepared.

A checklist post for everyone thinking about attending this year: http://www.devastationevent.com/2010/04/18/two-month-countdown-and-checklist

Might be best to take BB out the roster all together and put in Melty. To put things in perspective, WCW2 had CS and only got 16 participants. I know AZ has a good Melty scene (have you tried meltybread?), and I bet a lot of them would love to use this as a warm-up for Evo. Just sayin'

MB's been getting strong numbers throughout the country, and it's not like you have to go through the hassle of bringing imported PS2's and stuff. The community already has all the equipment.

I would not remove BB for MB... add it, perhaps, but not replace.

I welcome the community to bring and run a MB tourney this year to DEVASTATION. I am interested to see how it turns out; I will be watching evo as well.

I am sorry, but may I please ask three questions?

1. Will the players be seeded/seperated by region? Last time, I remember that a few friends/relatives had to play eachother, and they were not very happy about it...:( However, I assume that if not many out of state players enter, it cannot be helped if friends have to play eachother?

2. Will players be allowed to use team names in the team tournaments?

3. What time will the players be asked to leave (last time, it was around 10:00PM?)?

I apologize if these questions have been asked already...Thank you.

Yes, we seed by region as best we can... of course, depending on the bracket and your wins you may end up playing someone you know at some point. We try and make it so that it does not happen until at least the third round but it can be difficult.

Yes, team names in the team tournaments. As a matter of fact, there is a field in the registration for your team name.

Closing time... variable. We are going to try and stay open late for everyone to play and hang out but it will not go past midnight for sure (convention center rules). We hope to announce a couple of party-events for Friday and Saturday night here in the next couple of weeks.

Let me know if you have any other questions :keke:

I'll try to get a flight out for GG

People.. in the US.. playing.. GG? Does not compute :psyduck:

Have a great event ;)

I'll try to get a flight out for GG, last year was pretty dope but the drive is a bit far from socal.

I feel you... I just made that drive by myself a couple of weekends ago. It is not bad but it will be about 5 hours door to door.

jedirobb, I really think you should reconsider putting Melty Blood in there over Blazblue: CT. Seriously, I think if you just did an interest check in the Socal, Norcal and Arizona threads in match finder, you would find an overwhelming amount of players that would go if Melty Blood was a main game over Blazblue: CT. Also, Blazblue: CS has been out in the arcades in the U.S. for 6 months now and many competitive players don't want to go back to CT.

I feel you but I am going to keep BB for a few reasons:

1. We have not been able to run an official BB tournament yet because of the release timing

2. We have 15+ players registered already for the event with around 20 more that have not completed their registration (not to mention however many are waiting until the last minute to register) and I do not want to take the game away from them

3. I want to support Aksys; they seem like great people and we are working with them on some stuff for this year and next

I 100% okay with the community running a MB event at DEVASTATION we just are not going to add/remove any more titles at this point. I do value the feedback though, I really do.
