Hellmonkey Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 That's really not the same at all Sprt, as mentioned it's not infrequent in Japan and considering the overwhelmingly small percentage of girls that play fg and that probably none of them take it as seriously as the majority of the community, if there is interest in it I don't see any problem. If it was just decided to be held without interest in the first place, that's the only real issue... edit: the post above me put it pretty well, it's not meant to single them out for being worse at the game or anything.

And why no Guilty Gear in the lineup? Why a 'girls only' tournament? Let the women be able to participate with guys in the same tournaments. And if you noticed, majority of the games are Capcom also.

THEY ARE letting women participate in the same tournaments as everyone else. They can be in any tourney they want, whereas the guys are not allowed to participate in the Femme Fatales/Ladies only tourney.

They said they're going to have a vote for the final game and would put up a POLL soon. Most likely MBAA won't be on this poll and neither will GG. A few years I suggested MB as a game for a tourney and they told me they didn't think enough people would show up for it. O.o I'm not going to vote then since nothing there makes me super excite. Lineup sucks, my determination to go has lessened due to disappoint. :<

Your name is posted on srk.com if you get top 8? Who gives a shit, just run a side tourney, everyone throws 10 dollas into the pot. GG players don't have to be detered by that 50 dollar registration fee anymore. Hell, if dustloop brown-noses enough GG might even be back on the big screen for a finals exhibition. It happened for T6, BB, and I think even Brawl (ehhhhhhh) last year.

They paid to be put on the official Evo site, their games on the big screen, and put up their merch etc. Aksys didn't pay much but Namco paid a shit ton. Evo crew is in it for money. -Tha Hindu
tolore Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Didn't a whole bunch of people not come 2 years ago and then make a big stink about the results claiming they didn't matter because they didn't go? that's the big thing about it being a side tourney is some people decide not to come, even though it's more accessible. I strongly urge everyone who was planning to go, to still go. The only way I'm not is if some sort of job offer gets in the way(graduating senior, and I will TELL them I want to go to evo so I want that time off), or if it becomes financially unfeasible.

Let that sink in for a bit. Iowa, the state with corn, in the middle of nowhere. and i still showed up for EVO for no other reason than to play guilty gear. It's an insult to the real gear players that gear isn't on the poll, but even the real gear players realize that putting it on there was a waste of time, because this country is full of lazy ass loudmouths who would rather dickwave on the internet than actually travel and play the game.
