they are fine? but they are octogonal gate, and SUPER stiff, it also does not work well for any capcom games. i used one for years and it was great for gg.

After three years of d-pad play I decided to make the switch to a joystick. :keke: But man am I having trouble. I can't FRC, Instant Air Dash, JI, or even Dash properly. I know that most of that will come with lots of practice, but does anyone have tips? If it helps (fyi) I have a HRAP 3 and I am a Johnny player. Hopefully there is an easier way to input the dragon punch motion than just 623. :gonk:

Try 6236 for dragon punch input. It works but depends on moves, you need to make the imput much tighter to work or you will get qcf move.

I think across the board 6236 gives a dp. but if I'm wrong, I know for sure it does for Johnny (to my dismay)

Is anyone using a ps3 to run Accent Core? When I play a Accent Core using a HARP 3 the system randomly reads an 8 input. Is anybody else having this problem? If somebody else could test it out I'd really appreciate it.

Hmm...I played AC via PS3 at my friends house. I didn't use HARP 3 but as I can recall, there was no miss input due to the system. Check it's not your doing...becuase I sometimes get random inputs when I'm doing IAD or any command that is difficult to pull off such as half circle motion or DP for example. If it's not you, then I would head over to SRK forum to consult.

what is weird is that I put the controller down not touching a thing and it then gives the random 8 input.

Then there must be something wrong. I'm not so knowledgable about how electronics work but surely custom stick makers at SRK can help you out.

That's really weird...

I have a HRAP3 and PS3. 8 randomly fires on mine too. It does not seem to matter what game is in there. I think it is a bad ground. I will check more thoroughly later. I am handy with that sort of thing. I am tied up until Monday though.

Thanks. The funny thing is that the HARP3 works perfectly with a ps3 game and when I play Reloaded for pc. When you put in a ps2 game that is the only time that the random 8 input happens. I am assuming it has something to do with the system update and backwards compatibility, but I can be wrong.

if you have a HRAP2, at this point in time is it worth getting an HRAP3? last tournament I went to, ppl were still using PS2 slims.

Never unless you have a ps3.

Even then you could just get a ps2 -> usb converter.

Question to whoever can help me out. What are the Tech Specs(Stick, buttons) on a default Guilty Gear Arcade? How should I word it towards a custom stick builder?

Posted

Pretty much every Japanese fighting game uses Sanwa buttons, and I think GG is one of the 2D fighters that uses Sanwa joysticks. Even if I'm wrong, you really can do alot worse than Sanwa on each.

hey guys, my hrap2 stick part fell-inward into the case. when i open the box to inspect i did not find any loose screws....i think the iron molding connecting the stick holder to the face plate had fallen....any suggestions?

Come to think of it, do you have a 20/60 or 80GB model?

If the problem is the backwards compatibility, there should be a difference between them.

what kind of buttons would fit into an HRAP2? I'm looking to change the buttons just for a little customization. Also for anyone that has modded their HRAP2, what else can you/did you do with it?

HRAP2 uses quick-disconnects so all you have to do is take off the bottom, disconnect buttons, put/connect new buttons in, close bottom.

Standard Sanwa or Seimitsu (forget the size) should work fine.

Sweet deal, thanks Shazay and Nives (outside of dustloop).

There anything else I can do with it besides buttons? Anyone do anything crazy with their stick?

Posted

No point in changing the stick since its Sanwa (unless you really want Seimitsu). The only thing you could do with that is get a different ball top to match the button colors. There are other things you could do but they're more advanced (repainting the case, swapping the pcb for a ps1 one, etc).

I've got a question... I've got my HORI Real Arcade Pro 2 and I want to switch out the buttons for some Sanwas. I've been looking at sites and they usually list two different sizes for the buttons: 24mm and 30mm. Now, by the diameter of the button do they mean the actual pushable part of the button, or the outside casing diameter? I took out a caliper and measured the pushable part and it had a diameter of about 24.3mm, but your guide says to get the 30mm. I want to keep the same sized buttons, but don't know which ones to get. Some insight would be great. Thank you in advance.
