ElvenShadow Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 so people from wisconsin cant hold their liquer? doesnt sound like much of a "power" to me. they do know how to make some damn good cheese so I guess it sorta cancels out

It's not that we can't hold our liquor; we're just always drunk, all the time. So, you'd get drunk really fast and stay that way.
Honnou Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Good luck Elven. Sucks that I won't be in Japan until the fall.
Mr.Biscuits Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Good read as always. "Honda (hundered hand slap sound, you can mash it for the full effect)." That has to be the most awesome shit ever. It encourages mashing!
maverick Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Nice stuff ElvenShadow! Damn Kubo is back!!!!! And he's playing A.B.A??? I gotta see this.
cool_johnny Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Heloo there Mr. ELven Shadow I usually read you blog and I think it's really interesting to play Guilty Gear in Japan with many top player in that country. My name is Ricky, I like to play Guilty Gear too but my skill is not that good. Now I'm in Japan to learning a japanese language in Maebashi, maybe we can meet each other in arcade to play Guilty Gear. I usually play at amuseum arcade center in Maebashi, in front of SATY mall. I think there is many good players there, maybe sometimes you can check it. If you have a yahoo messenger account you can add my yahoo address : r_i_q1983@yahoo.com, maybe we can chat each other another time if you are not busy. Thanks for your attention and I hope we can meet each other at the arcade center in Japan ^^
ElvenShadow Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Maebashi eh? yea thats very close to where I live. I dont often have time to go out there during the week, and the arcades are very far from the train station in Maebashi so as you probably know, i mostly just play on the weekends in or around Tokyo. Maybe sometime I can try to make plans to go out there and play as Umemura, the Baiken player also wanted to play me during the week sometime in Maebashi since he lives there. You should try to go out to Tokyo on the weekends, thats where all the best competition is anyway. I dont think I will have time to go on yahoo until next week. but yea... if you have time, just go out to Tokyo, maybe show up to one of the qualifiers to watch or maybe even find a team btw, what country are you from?
cool_johnny Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I'm from Indonesia. In Indonesia theres a few GG player, so I can't improve my skill, maybe if I sparring with GG players in Japan I can improve my skill. Hmm Umemura ? wow a good Baiken player in Maebashi ? maybe I will meet him at the arcades. In Maebashi theres a many good player, usually played char is Venom, Potemkin, Millia and ABA. I go to the arcade and just got pawned with no win at all, thats sucks. I usually play at weekend too, probably this saturday night after work I go to arcade to play with japanese players. In amuseum arcade theres a free play event, just pay 500 yen and you can play as mush as you like. I hope this Saturday night I can play with top players in Maebashi. If you go to Maebashi please let me know, you can email me or maybe you just write in your blog. Thx ^^
ElvenShadow Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 this weekend I will be going to sbo quals in chiba and saitama so no maebashi this weekend, ill let you know if i decide to go later
reaVer Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Even though you regret it, you did the right thing:P This might sound cocky while not intended as such, but could you post up some vids of you playing(preferably those kind where you're having trouble with the opponent)? Perhaps people here see things you don't and are able to help you get qualified:P
ElvenShadow Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 reaver, i appreciate the offer for help but I dont have any recent vids of me playing. the most recent vids of me are the game chariot ones from several months ago. most of these tournaments dont seem to record matches and i have no other way to tape it. its cool, I generally know what I do wrong most of the time. many of these players are just damn good and its just a matter of getting out played sometimes, and even sometimes its just due to a small execution error here and there that costs me a match ill qualify dont worry
Hellmonkey Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 good luck, lots of strong players still trying to qualify ;o
BioLogIn Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 ElvenShadow Props for _not_ teaming with H.H in this situation. That was the only right thing to do IMO.
reaVer Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 ES: no video camera?:P I remember there being casuals from Hirai online in similar fashion:) Ah well, if you can't do it, you can't do it, good luck:P
axel Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Both of my matches at the qualifiers went down to the 3rd round, and were really close. I am really sorry that I let you down Mike, since I should have really won both matches. I will be going to Shinjuku Las Vegas to play more these few days, but I will not blame you if you decide to team with Shiratori for the qualifiers for this coming weekend. You really deserve to have a better team.
ElvenShadow Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 reaver... i mean, i can technically tape stuff with my cellphone but the quality is shit and i dont see how i can film while im playing unless i grow a 3rd arm :P Axel, yea your matches were close. I remember you making one mistake that cost you the match. I promised shiratori and umemura i would team with them again sometime after the last time i teamed up with each of them. if they cant do it this weekend of course I will team with you again. dont worry about it, keep practicing. i noticed you were adapting a lot towards the end of our casuals session. As I told you before, I respect your determination and patience. You are like the Rocky Balboa of Guilty Gear, no matter how many times you get knocked down you just get right back on your feet again and keep fighting. I noticed your biggest problem is that your pressure strings with little Eddie sometimes are easy to block and sometimes you leave holes in them so people can escape. Just make them a bit tighter and use more varied mixups and tick throw options. Your zoning, spacing, and footsies are very good though. There were many times where you would get in on me but I was just able to block everything and get away. Just work on that aspect of your game and your Eddie will be a beast btw, how was current last night? Ill see you Friday night at Akihabara
ky0n01 Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 ElvenShadow Props for _not_ teaming with H.H in this situation. That was the only right thing to do IMO. yes, or else axel and kyle couldve killed you there. lol
reaVer Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 A tripod, I was talking about some old fashioned cameras:P But cellphones can be accurate too if you're able to position them right.
zer0kage Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Elven I dunno if axel told you about this. Some other Singaporeans are in Japan as well. They go by the names of Remus and Farp (there might be more), have you met them yet? Their main games are Virtua Fighter 5 and Calibur 3 AE, incase you're wondering. Remus does play a share of GG as well.
