[CS1] Iron Tager Fun Question: The History of the Buster!

Hey All,

For most of us on the Tager forums, we go back in history playing with buster characters. One handed busters, back breaker busters, thigh press busters, spinning busters. I would like to take the time to ask all you buster fans out there:

What are some of your favorite busters/throws in video game fighting? And why?

For me, nothing beats Zangief tucking a shoryuken between his 500lb thighs and spinning it into the ground at 90mph (sometimes on fire, but that's just icing on the cake ). Not I know what you may be thinking: WHAT IS THIS SF BLASPHEMY ON THE BB FORUMS?! But lets enjoy this shall we?

Rolling Death Cradle. When you mistime the break on Chicken Wing Lock you are forced to watch as your character gets raped from like 6 directions by a mexican man dressed as a jaguar while simultaneously taking 2/3rds of your life. Ending in the evil game known as Tekken Oki.

Condor's is pretty baller too. He slams you belly flop into the ground before levitating off the ground in a ring of fire and spinning and slamming for a 22 hit grab.

Zangief easy, it's just a plainly ridiculous move. A german suplex-> back breaker -> spinning piledriver? I laugh each and every time that happens.

Potemkin's Busta by far. Playing against friends in GGAC and doing PB>FRC into 2s>2HSxxHeavenly Potemkin Busta. When you are losing and you do something like that, just feels good. PB>FRC in general just felt good. Lots of time spent trying to be able to do it in game. When you actually get it off the damage just makes it feel so good. His voice just added to the intensity of the move.

The stored ochio E.Honda has in HD Remix is so amazing. Jumping HK into something like Jab>HHS>Ochio is ridiculous. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do with a command throw, but it is so beast.

My favorite buster has to be Heavenly Potemkin Buster by far, especially done as Psychic or AA. Feels as satisfying as landing a 720 tech-trap.

Most awesome: Clark SDM/LDM Ultra Argentine Backbreaker. CLARK SPECIAL is the shit. That crazy sunglasses-at-night motherfucker throws Chang around like he was Choi and doesn't think twice about it. Plus, he's friends with Ralf.

Most adorable: Shermie Spiral. Wrap your crotch around their face and watch their lifebar empty. Add knee drop KO and Shermie dance winpose for additional style. Super version is also great, with that sexy-ass suplex. One! Two! Three! :D

Most awesome combos (!) afterward: Potemkin Buster, because Po-chop taught us all how awesome juggling after a fast, damaging command throw could be. Tager has some cool shit with the new whiff collider jams, but they're just not quite as jaw-dropping as PB FRC combos.

Most hilarious: Hugo, because he's fuckin' Hugo. Belly-flop their shit, clap your hands, lumber across the stage like a majestic redwood with a, um...devastating...command throw? "The bigger I am, the harder they fall!"

I've been playing grappler since KOF, its always been satisfying to land their big damage attacks. Also, I loved hearing the English Tager's voice in CT, it was better then his Japanese voice imo

I have very fond memories of Tizoc from Fatal Fury (which is why I bugged out when he was in KoF '03 and XI) "BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG FAAAAAAALL!"

Generally I'm not too big on grapplers in my fighting games, but Tager, Tizoc, Bayman (Dead or Alive), and Dragunov (Tekken) are exceptions

There's nothing more satisfying than a perfect back dash > 720 or instant block > 720. It's just that snapping sound the 720 makes when it connects, but without the whooshing of the magnetic pull, that's what makes it so good. Parrying and low and hitting that shit with a 720 with Hugo is also amazing.

I like kinniku buster. You know, from kinnikuman manga (original one). I'm pretty damn sure kiinkuman is the reason why all super damaging throws are ended with "buster." Yes, there is a game ver of it.

I like Geese Howard judo throw in cvs2. Quote " Too EASY!" After the throw he crosses his arm like a X for no reason lol
