Honestly, I don't have a place to host, and the only person I know of in the Triangle area who wants to pick up BB is Josiah (Cooldudenotu). He said a few posts up that he would have CS gatherings at his place every Monday. If he's still hosting, I'm down for that, but somebody needs to bring a setup because his TV is kind of laggy.

I'm home from school (UNC-Charlotte) for the summer and live about 20 or so minutes away from Raleigh (Benson). I won't be able to go to AZ because I'm currently out of town and won't be back til Saturday night. Might try checking out Cooldudenotu at some point in time when I have a job and gas money.

How often, if at all, are there BB tournies in Raleigh (or Garner/Fayetteville)?

With CS2 out now, we will probably start having BB tournaments again, but there's no tournament venue in Raleigh at the moment for anything but Marvel and maybe SF4. Fayetteville has tournaments at Elite Zone, as well as gatherings every Friday, so we can probably get some BB rolling there, provided people will actually show interest. The venue doesn't have any copies of the game, so we have to bring our own setups, but it's an awesome venue in general.

Basically what TB and Zoo said.. There would be more gatherings if people had constant interests. I would love it if someone wouldn't mind come checking out a game lounge in Fuquay-Varina for TVs and set-ups. They have tournies every week. (This friday they're having another MvC3 tourny.. MK saturday =A=) Just need more people to show. Also someone on SRK was running gatherings on Monday/Tuesday.

AZ this past weekend was legit. Had a BBCS2 tourny Saturday night. ( I had to run it. lol ) Overall weekend had some really good players; Hazama, Noel , Ragna, Valk, Mu, Tager and Makoto. Those matches were very intense. Although wish moar peeps came back to it because alot of people asked for it at the con and never showed back up. Capped out at 16. D:

Yo I live in the triangle area. I've been looking for more people to play against in BB. The friends I play with don't really play it much so I have nobody to get better with. I also only have Xbox (with no online bleh).

Sam, you lied, you said nobody checks this thread.

If I found something at UNC-CH on weekends that could hold, say 8 people, would anyone come? Parking is free on weekends. Otherwise, are people willing to meet up at EZ on some Fridays? Other suggestions, like someone kind enough with a decent enough place for us to have sessions?

Edit:

I've been told that the Talley Student Center and D.H Library @ NCSU are also possibilities. Anyone in the Raleigh area want to check those places out? I'm thinking we could try doing bi-weekly (or whatever fits peoples' schedules) sessions.

I don't think D.H. is a good place. Talley is a good idea but the hours kind of sucked from what I remember after graduating from NC State last year. Which dorm are you staying in?

Hmm, there's always the game room in Wolf Village Building G if I remember correctly. It's hardly ever used and you don't have to reserve it or anything, so it would be pretty easy to set up in there. Plus there's no set hours like in Talley or D.H. to my knowledge.

I'm actually working at UNC-CH and living right next to it. I suppose I could host, but I only have a small 22" sd tv in my living room.

Well, if folks know in advance, someone can always bring an extra setup. I have a 23" Asus monitor that I bring to gatherings occasionally.

Also, Sam didn't lie, this is the most activity this board has seen in months.

Oh, nice. If this keeps up, we might have the momentum to get a gathering going.

What days (and time of day) are best for people to meet up?

Which city is the most convenient?

Still trying to get a feel for the community, especially since this uncommonly high activity may mean new people in the community (myself included).

Weekends would work best for me since I have a 40 hour work week and it looks like I'll most likely have to travel to the triangle area for matches.

I don't like traveling much due to gas but would like to come out to these at some point. Weekends are usually best for me.

The scene at AZ was pretty legit. I'm free just about every weekend, I live towards the coast but I'm willing to travel for a few hours to play,

I have both PS3 and XBOX360 versions of BB:CS and a moniter that I pretty much have with me every weekend (though I don't have the new charecters for the ps3)

Depending on the number of people who show up, I can host a session at my place or my office (for groups of 6+) on weekends. Though for both cases, it would be great if someone could bring an extra setup (monitor + system). I'm getting a 36" SD TV for my living room, so if anyone wants to play GG also...

Otherwise, any place in Raleigh to meet up?

I'll be checking out the place that I suggested earlier, the Wolf Village game room at NCSU, this weekend to see if I can still get in during the summer, so that could be a possibility. Even if that doesn't work during the summer, it should be available when school starts back up since I'll be living there anyway.

Whaddup

Thinkin about re-buying BB just to see how CS2 is, and give this game another chance. I heard it was more offensive... so hopefully there's more blockstun on aerials or something?

I'll have the game some time before Elite Zone in July, so I'll have practice time before then. :)

Yeah, offense seems a lot better than I remember now (got to play CS2 some yesterday). And more air-unblockables to prevent jump-outs. :) Still wish BB's IAD was lower to the ground, but I guess I can't have everything.

Platinum is awesome though. Actually learned a few combos with her too despite only getting to play for a short time. Some good wall carry with Heart Car + 50% meter. xD

Lol heart car. Haven't fought against platinum yet but I imagine its not as annoying as Jin ice car.

wow this thread's so active, what the heck? I wish I had a system to play bb on. whatever, back to practicing I-no stuff.

Is there anyone willing to play some BB this weekend east of Raliegh? I'm gonna be pretty bored this weekend with nothing to do :-(

It won't be this weekend, but unless something comes up I'll be heading to Raleigh next weekend to get some games in with a friend of mine. If anyone's interested, PM me by next Wednesday or so. That way I'll know beforehand if I have to make any special arrangements and whatnot.
