Ryan - regarding Blitz Shield for Zato, I don't think there's really a use for it outside of things like Elphelt's unblockables, where there aren't really any other options.  If you're following Ogawa's example, he spends a lot of meter avoiding problematic situations with stuff like Break the Law YRC, DAA, and he's ridiculously good at air throwing people out of their pressure.  If you anti-air someone with it, I don't think you'd be able to get much more than Shadow Gallery or a couple of hits off Nobiru; Zato's kit doesn't really let him pick up off the recoil the way other characters can.

Now it feels like my fault for UNIEL not happening.  :gonk: Tempered and I were going to go for it but he had to work OT (and he normally gets out of work right around when P4AU is scheduled to end), and I was set to pick him up from work, which would turned into a total mess. Welp, real life is that 0-10 match-up.

Saw the stream archive and I regret not being there. Looks like there were some pretty exciting matches that went down. But as dippy said, real life is 0-10 matchup and I had to be out of town since I hadn't celebrated Christmas in SoCal since before I moved out here. It's unfortunate UNIEL didn't happen either. Evidently I also missed out on Melty that wasn't MBHDR. :( Hopefully both of these will happen next time.

GGs to everyone on Saturday! Glad to see lots of people playing GG again-- hope it lasts for a long time :)

Also, thank you to the fine gentlemen who ran the tournament and congrats to the winners.

You can stream AND run it on the same pc.

How awesome is that?

Everyone, play melty.

As much as I would love Melty to be run PC tournaments are annoying as hell to pull off. All though with the probable entrants we would get it could possibly be run on 1 setup

Ray wants to revive Melty.  I'm okay with burying UNIEL in its place.

Melty is like Bayonetta 2, the perfect game put on the wrong system. My biggest gripe is constantly getting let down by other people's PCs.

I'm down for Melty but to expect me to just throw away UNIEL would be foolish. If NEC is any indication, the game hasn't lost as much steam as everyone had thought. MBCC serves as a constant reminder of French Bread's infinite wisdom with releasing it only on PC. I'm glad they didn't make that mistake with UNIEL. But I'll leave it at at that for now. If anyone wants to play against me in Melty, just bug me if I don't look too busy with Xrd. I'll try to at least look like I haven't forgotten how to play the game. :v:

I accidentally a visual novel.

UNIEL

is the green-haired cousin of Melty Blood. She's good-looking and quick to make friends but she's also a natural airhead with a pretty shallow personality. UNIEL dreams of traveling the world someday, despite her fear of flying, and tries her very hardest to learn other languages such as English and German. Getting her good ending is the easiest, simply requiring you to take her on dates and give her occasional gifts.

Melty

is the black-haired bookworm that stays in the library all day. Unsociable to the point where she doesn't even talk to you until you hit the required flags. Once she opens up to you, however, it is revealed that she has low self-esteem from being bullied during her childhood. The Melty true ending culminates in her dream of becoming an actress by overcoming her shyness. She likes animals of all kinds, but mostly cats.

Blazblue

is the blue-haired former-shut-in. She used to freeload off her older sister Guilty but has since moved out after gaining financial independence. After writing a couple of extremely popular romance novels, she now has to deal with constant heat from her publisher and fans to recreate her previous successes. This has forced her to adapt a rushed, quantity-over-quality approach to writing. In the Blazblue true ending, you help her find the inspiration to write one final novel before dramatically escaping from her fans. She has a fascination with insects and snakes.

Guilty

is the red-hared sister of Blazblue. She's the oldest girl and owns a small ramen shop. Tomboyish and very quick to anger, she is notorious for throwing people out of her shop and getting in fights with her customers. Because of this, her store is unpopular even though her food is actually quite good. She is secretly jealous of her younger sister's financial success. In the Guilty true ending you help her open a chain of restaurants throughout the city and her food becomes widely recognized as the standard. Loves loud music and karaoke.

Persona

is the blonde-haired half-sister of Guilty and Blaz. An illegitimate child of their father and a foreigner, she was actually raised in America and speaks fluent English. Persona adores fashion and dresses the best out of all of the girls, but also wears ironic glasses. She has an obsession with social media and loves to watch television. Persona true ending involves you helping her gain acceptance from her family and also the fifty-thousand friends on her Facebook page.

Arcana

is the pink-haired loli prodigy scientist. Her goal is to someday be an astronaut. Arcana true ending involves you watching her go to the moon from your jail cell. :V

Forget PCs, it's time to bring back the PS2 version of MBAA, the real GOAT.

Ray wants to revive Melty.  I'm okay with burying UNIEL in its place.

I don't know how glib this response is, but it's an interesting issue. At what point do you not play the game you really want to play to play something else that other people play? That and even if UNIEL isn't as good of a game as MB, it's also a fresh experience. I've seen so much of some of these match-ups in MB I think I can recreate them in my sleep (or maybe it's just watching Ryd and H-F play putting me to sleep :P ).

And after what happened over the weekend, we could also relive the bad old days from MBAC/MBAA and kick NorCal players in the teeth in a new game. :v: (If anyone from there actually reads this, I don't actually have any problems -- I can't get mad at people that play Aquapazza and Neo Turf Masters.)

I scorn this motion.  :gonk:

I'm not going to say you should stop playing UNIEL at all, because it's a good game.

...but Melty is amazing and everyone should try it.

Arcana

is the pink-haired loli prodigy scientist. Her goal is to someday be an astronaut. Arcana true ending involves you watching her go to the moon from your jail cell. :V

Arcana's story sounds like it would be hype as hell, taking that L for true love and everything.

I actually have Melty once in a Full moon and I play a decent Crescent & Half moon Roa.
(See what I did there? :3)

I advocate UNIEL as a great starting point for anyone looking to play fighting games and as a great game in general. That and I can consistently win in it, so of course I'd advocate for it...

...just so I can introduce more people to the game and body them with Byakuya

:ballYU:

See, I'd be more into UNIEL if Gordeau didn't exist. :v He's my only gripe with the game.

Your sig should now say "Gordeau is the perfect character for players that just like to Grim Reaper and get away with it."
