The Anime Expo 2008 trailer was just released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It showcases a lot of what we already know, and also gives us a look into the English dubbing, which isn't half bad, actually. Also, it's official: we've got California dubbing - the best damn dubbing there is. I definitely heard Liam O'Brien in the traile. O'Brien, for some reason or another, is playing Ky. To that, I add a big "WTF?" EDIT: After rewatching the trailer, I retract my statements about Sol's VA. Jamieson Price is actually playing Raven.

Hmmm....I can slightly imagine Ky having Gaara's voice.... Wasn't Price the one who did Kotomine's voice in the english version of Fate/Stay Night?

Price does alot of George's roles, so that isn't too surprising

but Liam? as in FABULOUS LLOYD from the Code Geass dub?! :psyduck:

finally saw the video and Price fits better than I expected for Sol. "What a drag . . ." Liam as Ky . . . well he sounds like Akihiko let's just say that. That Man is, I think, Yuri Lowenthal. I think Price is also Raven. Is that Wendee Lee as Valentine? (not Faye :P) And Michael McConnohie, as I guessed months ago, is Dr. Paradigm. Couldn't quite pick out Sin or Izuna, sorry.

*Shrugs* I liked Liam as Vincent in Ergo Proxy. I'm taking the 'cautiously optimistic' route. Also, +1 internets for whoever else has seen Ergo Proxy. Good series.

Hmm. I spoke some pretty harsh words a few months back. I wasn't confident it could be done well. I'm happy to say that I was wrong about the quality; seeing the video, I'm quite happy, quite impressed.

From what I've heard in that trailer, I will enjoy Sin's and That Man's VA. I can live with everyone else... except Ky. The jury is still out since I get the feeling the VA is trying too hard, or too obviously, for some kind of aristocracy accent/angle. Well, it's only a trailer and poor Ky doesn't get as much vocal time like everyone else. Now just waiting for the Xbox price to go down...

In battle voice for Ky sounds better than the normal talking. I'll reserve my main judgment until I hear him yell "RIDE THE LIGHTNING."

also, I guess the official translation for the title of Ky's wife is "The Maiden of the Grove"

I like how Raven's VA, unless I'm mistaken, sounds like several characters already present in the game. Is his the same one for Dr. Paradigm? If so, that is garbage. There is absolutely no need to voice recycle. So far, I don't think the Voice Acting is terrible. But I DO like how instead of getting fantastic voice actors like Crispin Freeman and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (both would have made perfect Sol Badguy & Valentine VAs respectively), they grabbed all the average and less impressive voice actors who have always previously voiced less than important characters (or ya know, never had a lead role in anything). Ky's the only one that sounds especially good. Everyone else...pretty much forgettable. That Man however, sounds like crap. The best actor for That Man would've been John Rafter Lee (Meier Link from Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust). Imagine that voice on That Man. :yaaay:

y'know Red, i think Raven is different. Dr. Paradigm is Michael McConnohie, while Raven sounds like Jamieson Price. Now that I watched the video again, I think Crispin is Sol . . . Atleast some of those lines sound like him. Its kinda hard to pick it out. listen to original Japanese for GG2's That Man, he sounds all whispy & young, so I'm happy that Yuri is doing his "Pharos voice" for that role. Aksys DID get "fantastic voice actors" just not the ones you wanted (but several I did :D )

Dammit, this game has the entire unholy trinity of VAs (Yuri Lowenthal, Wendee Lee, Crispin Freeman) :vbang: And even though I'm glad the VA was good, I was hoping for the return of GGX trailer. "Time to fight eh? GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND VIPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

Wow, I really like that voice-acting! I was kinda hoping for Vic Mignogna to play Ky, but Liam is definitely better for that regal sound. I suppose it would make more sense to neophytes for Ky to sound kingly. I'm very impressed with everyone, except maybe Raven, but he sounds pretty good too.

Liam constantly VAs like that, if you've played Valkyrie Profile 2 (he plays Lezard Valeth), or seen english dub of Code: Geass, he's actually not that bad.

But still, I'm tired of hearing fucking Liam O'Brien lol

Edited last post. Also, found a new candidate for who Sol's VA might be: Troy Baker. He's been playing a lot of roles in California dubs recently. Jin Kariya in Bleach and Schneizel el Britannia in Code Geass to name a few. Also, Izuna's VA might be Brian Beacock.
